I'm just wondering what this means. My ds stopped liking cartoons all of a sudden a month ago and only wants to watch real TV and one Baby Einstein DVD (only when about to nap) which he had stopped watching for a while. He started watching other cartoons and Little Einstein from about 16 months to now (he's 2). But for the past month or so he hates all cartoons and will whine, shriek or actually go and change the channel if he sees one to anything else; news, Price is Right, anything else. Also today I took him to the Disney store for the first time in 3 months and he got mad being there because you see cartoons everywhere. In every other kind of store he enjoyed himself. Anyone know what this means?

That is odd? I wonder if something on a cartoon scared him once? Have you tried the Wiggles or sesame Street? Maybe he would like the Doodle Bops? I am sure you don't want him watching the news, but I guess The Price is Right is okay. Kids can be funny sometimes. If you ask him why he doesn't want to watch cartoons does he say anything?

hes seen a cartoon and didnt like it im guessing. phobias are only developed if something made them feel uneasy (eg a cartoon in his sake) it doesant mean he might of seen something scary, it could be something so small like the look of a cartoon maybe? he will come around and relise hopefully its ok.

He was fine until I put the baby Einstein on for my infant son one day. They he stopped wanting to watch every other cartoon he'd been watching for months. Maybe it has something to do with the baby? He's 2 so he can't explain in so many words why.

Now it makes sense. It has everything to do with the baby, he is jelous and this is him reverting and wanting to BE the baby. I would just indulge him for the time being, he will eventually get tired of the baby stuff and ask for cartoons for his age group.

Or maybe your son is a genius who is well past his age? Wouldn't it be great. In any case, I think this is a GREAT opportunity to get him acquainted with the Discovery channel, classical music, finanical news (lol) - whatever, to help his abilities blossom .

I sort of forced him to leave Treehouse on for a while and he relented and watched it. The funny thing is he has never been jealous of the baby at all. I thought he would be like my brother was with me when I was little but he kisses him and does things like rocks and wipes the baby's mouth with a kleenex. He really does like the news and discovery. He decided he would watch it on the computer after Treehouse was on too long went to sit on the couch where I have my laptop. He waiting until I showed him a National Geographic email of animal pictures!
