How do you girls clean your kids stuffed animals? I looked it up on yahoo and the sites said to put them in a washing machine and air dry them. Or sprinkle baking soda on them, let it sit, then dust it off. Then I read to take a vacuum hose and lightly brush them with the vacuum. I just want a quick way to kill any bacteria and keep the dust away. Can't I just put them in the dryer for 10 minutes? I know that ruins the fur a little but do you think that takes away the dust and kills any dust mites etc.? My kids don't even look at their stuffed animals so it's not like they're dirty, I just want to keep them dust free.

You can put them in the dryer tied up in a pillow case, it saves the fur. As for stuffed animals that "talk"... I've just wiped them with wipes in the past. I never knew what to do with them because I don't think they can go in the dryer (not sure, though??). The baking soda idea looks good!

My always put them in the washing machine and dryer, my dd has these little ducks that she has been obsessed with since she was a baby, they have been chewed so much and get dropped in every possible place, that they get washed the whole time and the more worn (and less fluffy) the more she loves them!

My son has a white teddy bear that he got for christmas and he just loves it. But it lights up so it cant go in the washing machine, so I just take a washcloth too it with a tiny bit of soap and scrub it. It works pretty well.
