How Can I Make My Dd Less Whiney?

They do go through the whiny stage. My dd was whiny at the same age, but then with the birth of a baby I became stricter with her, cutting her whining short. My ds is now in the whining stage, for the last 5 mo (he's 2.5) - I keep telling him, 'I can't understand you when you are whining, say it in your normal voice' . Basically, they need to get a message that whining does not get them anywhere. |

Ha!!! I would love to know an answer to this as well. My dd is 16 months and her high pitched whining is starting to get on my nerves. She used to whine and cry all the time for me to pick her up but i just started ignoring her and after a few temper tantrans she got the hint and is much better. I also think they are so whiny b/c it is the only way they have to communicate since they still cant say much. |

yeah I don't pay attention when my ds, and dd whine. I can't stand the sound actually. And at first I would get angry at dd but then realized that the more I am getting angry, the more she is doing it! now I just tell her I can't hear her when she's whining and she stops. She thinks that whining will get her what she wants so dh laughs at her when she pulls that, she stops right away and tries asking nicely. |
