Hi ladies. I just wanted to emphasize the importance of starting safety young. My son will be 3, and even at this age I think that it is important to start talking to them about what happens if there is a fire. There have been a lot of fires lately where young children have died. And I realized that I hadn't had this kind of conversation with him, yet. Actually, I hadn't even thought about it till this morning. I explained our plan, in toddler lingo, and he gets it. He has been talking about it all day actually. I just wanted to say that I don't think its ever too young to start with safety. What do you ladies think?

My son is 4 and we started talking to him about it at that age too. He understands what to do in case there is a fire in case he is not in the same room as us. We told him to not to come look for us, just get out ! We have a meeting place outside.

I think its a great idea. My son is only 14 months but even at this age I'm amazed at how much he understands. I don't think you can start too early.
