I don't understand why men have to have a big TV!? I would make him cancel the warrantee. Also, why the hell wouls his parents give him $2000 for a television? you have every right to be pissed, I would be furious. |

Ahhh...thank you! It has a one year factory warranty...I just think 650.00 is a little extreme. I don't like warranties...I think they are a big waste of money. I wonder if they will take it off. Right now it is on my credit card, until I cash his parents check. He doesn't pick it up until Tuesday. |

BWIND - men and their toys - I can totally relate - I do believe that is a little pricey - we have a 60 inch big screen and we just recently added an extended warranty for like 150.00 it's not a flat screen its a huge monstrosity maybe that's why - Sometimes men just get so caught up in the moment they don't think clearly - if you can cancel you should - in a few more years you will be able to buy a 46 inch for 650.00 LOL yikes! |

Hi there. I know just what you mean. My dh buys tv's like they are going out of style. And yes they are all flat screens from the range of 40 to 46 inches. I don't have a regular tv in my house. I have to say it is nice but so not for the money. Very expensive. I just asked him and he said that it could have costed $650 for a 5 year but who knows if you will keep the tv that long. Like you said you might be able to get a new one that is better for a little more then the 650 you spent on the warrenty. Technology changes so quick with tvs and what is to say that you dh won't want the new ones that come out in 5 years if it breaks. I would bring that up to him and ask him to get a refund for the warrenty. Maybe just get like a 2 or 3 year one. Good luck. I know my dh would not listen to me on it because he thinks he knows everything about electronics and I know nothing! |

ha ha lol! I'm so with you dh nearly bought a laptop this week, but his card was too maxed out so he couldn't - he doesn't need a laptop but likes the idea of using one. When he first mentioned this i said we can't afford it at the moment and he agreed, then his dad said he'd buy it for him so when he asked me what I think I said that if we're not paying for it I don't see why not - well his father never bought it, but he suddenly got it into his head that I'd agreed to buying one!!! |

OMG, this is my dh...no joke. Money grows on trees ya know!!!!!!!! He drives me nuts!!! Ugh...we got the extended warranty too! What a waste! I wish I would've thought to see if they could cancel it!! We're still paying for this damn tv too (although it's at 0% financing so its not so bad). UGH! |

I understand ur anger but if it is a lcd or projection tv...they can wear out after 2 years (not all but craftsmenship is lower nowadays) with that warranty u can replace it...(instead of spending another $2k) also u cannot fix those tv for very cheap the screens alone are like a grand (on an lcd) and the projection wheel in a projector tv is like a grand... so its not a rip off.... I completely understand what ur upset about...however he actually did a smart thing...and if it does break within the 5 years ur gonna be thankful...oh nd the manufacturers warranty...u pay to ship it to the company (and u have to buy the insurance for shipping) then they send u either a refurbished or urs back whenever they get around to it. I worked in an electronics retail store for 6 years we did repairs on electronics (in store) that's how I know the price of parts and how manufacters warranties work....just thought I'd let u know ur husband didn't get "taken" when he bought that warranty.... gl |
