Ok at her nap time she will not go down by herself. I have to walk and hold her still. She goes to sleep at night by herself. I would love to hold her but she is just getting to big. Well for the last 2 weeks her naps are like not as long or not at all. Today was the first day that she did not nap at all. What a bear! She only take sone nap during the day and that is at 3:00 and that goes from 3 until abotu 4:30, 5:00 or even 5:30. What can I do to get her to go down for her nap by herself and at waht age did your kids start skipping naps sometimes?

My daughter is 23 months, and once in a blue moon will skip a nap. She goes to bed early the next night though! I don't know about putting her down for a nap though. Maybe the room needs to be darker, and let her CIO for a few days. She'll get it.

My dd is almost 20 months and still takes two naps a day! I would never have guessed that she would sleep so much. Sometimes I try just one nap a day, but it never works out. She gets super cranky. So, she'll take a nap in the morning (about 1.5 hours long) and then the same in the afternoon. She has been wanting to resist naps and bedtime too (even though she is so tired). I just tell her I love her and that it is time to sleep. I put her in her crib and she will cry a few minutes but then sleep a long time.

Sometimes you can put a baby down too late for a nap and then get only a short one. You might try putting her down earlier. Sometimes they don't seem tired due to a second wind but they really are. If she only takes one nap, I would think she needs to go down by one. That is what mine does. The books I have read say "early to bed, late to rise", the opposite of what you might think. Make sure you have a ritual before naps to help her wind down. We do books and then say night night to various things like the cat. Hope that helps.
