Hi girls, just a quick question for some feedback. I'm on the mini-pill (for the last 3 months or so) but I admit I have been forgetting to take it on time each night. Mainly I have, but might do it in the middle of the night and once, first thing the next morning. I know you have to take it the same time each day but we have five children and the new baby just knocked my socks off with everything else going on. I haven't been well the past couple of weeks with nauseousness, bad headaches and just generally being SO tired. I'm petrified I'm pregnant, as slim as chances could be but i get pregnant so easily. Anyone get pregnant on the mini-pill?

Hello. A friend of mine was on the mini pill while breastfeeding her daughter, when she stopped breastfeeding she carried on using the mini pill, and within 3 months fell pregnant - she took it same time every day and didn't even realise she was pregnant until she was 4 months along and felt flutters and went to the dr thinking "I cant' be pregnant I'm on the mini pill!" and she was 4 months along. I think the pill worked fine for her while she was breastfeeding but once she stopped it wasn't as effective for her. The mini pill is very effective, but I know from my friend it can happen that you get pregnant while taking it so it is a possibilty. I'm not sure what to suggest other than trying a pregnancy test or visiting your dr if you are concerned. I'm not sure how well a pregnancy test works while on the pill, maybe some other mums here can advice re pregnancy tests/the mini pill...?
