Biteing

does anyones l.o. bite them when they are angry?? what do you do to stop it? i firmly say no but i don't know what else to do!! thanks!

Put some tabasco sauce on your l.o's lip. It burns briefly enough to help them associate biting with pain but doesn't cause any permanent harm or enforce violence (like spanking or biting back might). My mom used this trick successfully on six kids and none of us stayed biters long. Good luck.

If he/she is really young a firm no and maybe removing them from the situation for a while would be appropriate, and also let them know That Hurts Mommy! But, I would say if he/she is 2 or older it is time to start timeouts. 1 min for every year old they are. Find a chair or corner that isn't near any distractions, and always give a stearn warning, but if that don't stop it, put her in timeout, you must be consistant or it will not work.
