my 2 year old has transitioned from crib to bed and it's not working. Any advice? I don't know how you're supposed to do this whole thing. She slept ok in it at night, didn't get up but was difficult to get to sleep and woke up at 10 when we checked on her and was up for 45 minutes. Now, nap time is NOT happening. She won't stay in bed and screams bloody murder if I leave the room and now she's in there playing. How are you supposed to do this??? I have a 2 month old as well so I need some rest! I hate hearing her scream and feel bad - but don't know what to do! Do I put her in her pac-n-play if she won't sleep in it for now? We had to get rid of the crib because it was recalled and the baby is sleeping in the other crib.

Can you put her pack n play in her room? Maybe she is just the type that needs to be confined to nap? My dd is the opposite and will not sleep in the crib or pack n play.

could it be that she just isnt ready to switch yet or she could be acting out b/c of the new baby. My dd is 23 mos and isnt showing any signs of wanting to come out of the crib at all, and I'm due with twins within the next few weeks so I'm waiting to switch her until I absolutely have to. As far as the pack and play idea, It all depends on how your dd likes the pack and play, personally I know my dd would hate the pack and play, I would suggest putting her back in the crib until she is really ready, just my suggestion, gl

She loves the bed but and screams even more when I try to put her back in the pac-n-play. :) She's actually doing better, she stopped getting up and banging on the door and goes to sleep much quicker now. Still, she cries for a while...last night she woke up at 10pm screaming so when I went in there I asked her is she was scared and she kept saying "eyes" so I looked around and her elmo chair was right next to the night light at the end of her bed. He kind of looked scary, so I took him out. Poor baby!

Hey fefer1,
I might just have the answer youre looking for (I hope). My sister has twin girls that are 2.5years old and when she was transitioning them from their cribs to the toddler bed (like a month ago) she said it was HORRIBLE! The would rip down the curtains, take all the dressers out of their dresser, climb all over the place, and just made a mess every single time. They woke up almost every hour in the night and she never got any sleep because they would end up getting up at 5am to start their day. She was so tired and wanted to put them back in their cribs BUT she couldn't, one of the girls had fallen out and cracked her head so they quickly switched to toddler beds, but that was crazy with the girls always on the loose....SOOOOOO..............She bought crib tents for them that actually fit their toddler beds perfectly! I believe they are called: Tots In Mind Cozy Crib Tent II, took pics and sent them to me, and they fit their toddler beds perfectly and zip up from the outside so she zips them in and they have no choice but the stay in there and have learned to return to their sleeping schedules and sleep in until 8am now! So she is just SOOOO Happy with them and I thought I would share that with you and anyone else who might want a solution. They are a bit expensive like around $60 but she says it's soo worth the money for a peice of mind! So good luck, and hope this helps:) God Bless:)
