Ladies, I was too excited about this one solution of our problem, - I need to stress that my daughter was as much excited about the fact that a grown-up wrote her words up on the paper (and that was the technique), she's excited about the list as much as about the Xmas lights. OHHH this book is a treasure trove of techniques. *********olhdw101 - the skills follow by examples for all ages, toddlers to teenagers - so absolutely!!! No matter age, they are kids - and people - and the book helps us to re-tune a bit to hear them and to let them to be open with us. Though the book talks about kids, it is sooooooooo applicable to any relationship - I now use the listening and encouraging techniques on hubby... Hubbies are kids, aren't they lol *********** tryingx3 - possibly your pregnancy per se was the reason for your off-mark thyroid? as it usually happens? I am OK, no problems thyroid-wise... Activity books that I used at times when my imagination ran dry were -"The Toddlers Busy Book" by Trish Kuffner, "The Little Hands Art Book" by Judy Press (the playdough recipes alone are priceless). Later, these books sequel into science experiments.. "The Pocket Parent" is supposed to be a good quick reference book though I mostly relied on my intuition in tough times - like a tantrum in a public place... I haven't read the "Supernanny" book but she's so good in her shows so the book must be superb, too...
