easiest frosting recipe ever
melt 1 oz baking chocolate in a saucepan - for white frosing use the white baking chocolate
once melted, remove from heat and mix in 1 cup of powered sugar
add food coloring to achieve the color you want

I always make my kids cakes for birthdays and I just use the frosting you buy and add food coloring. But, an easy vanilla frosting recipe is, 1/3 cup softened butter, 3 cups confectioners' sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla, about 2 tbsp. milk, blend sugar and butter, stir in vanilla and milk and blend until smooth and spreadable. Then you can add food coloring.

Oh , I forgot to say the less food coloring you use the less runny the frosting and the less of a taste from the food coloring too. I always make my frosting first and add the color I want and then cover until ready to use because the colors get richer the longer the icing sits.
