My daughter is 14 months old. She started using a sippy cup at 6 months. Mainly for juice. By 9 months thats all she used. It was a very smooth transition. She never even acted like she missed the bottle. Heres my issue. She refused to use any sippy cup besides the soft nubys. Shes chew them as she drinks from them so a sippy cup is only lasting a week at the most. Ive tried the regular hard ones and she refused them. Its not that she doesnt know how to drink from them b/c she had done it before. She did fine for about a week once then one day she just went back to refusing them. She loves Elmo so i brought Elmo ones. She loves race cars so i bought race car ones. And nothing. Ive tried not giving her nubys, jus the hard ones and she didnt drink for 2 days. So thats not an option. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem! Just yesterday my dh came home with a new regular sippy and she took it! I could not believe it, I thought he was wasting money. I would say to keep a good supply of the Nuby's and every once in a while give her a regular sippy, who knows when she may take it. I think my dd liked it b/c of the cool 3d pics on it. They really like the Nuby's b/c they are soft and they can still suck like a bottle. Good luck.

My best suggestion is to wait until your dd is good and hungry before offering the sippy. If she is hungry enough she will take her food however it is given.

yea except she doesnt. When i tried that she didnt drink for 2 entire days. When i finally gave her her nuby, she chugged it she was so thirsty. I felt terrible and will never do that again. She eats solid food not a problem. So its not thats shes not hungry enough.

Hey everybody,
I hope this helps atleast one person.....I have found a sippy cup where the SOFT straw can not be chewed through, or ripped open, Im serious! These are the only sippy cups I will ever use from now on, not only are the SUPER durable BUT it's also a good idea to have your toddler drink from a straw sippy cup (mainly for juice) so that the juice goes right to the back of the throat instead of coating all the teeth all the time, know what I mean? I have definitely noticed a difference with my own kids, when they use the straw sippy cups, there teeth stay healthier. Well anyways the cups are called Playtex Baby Einstein Sip and Discover , look them up on drugstore dot com, they are about 5 bucks there, that is where I get them. I have tried all sorts of cups, and nuby's and all others but these are the best! And yes the soft straw is sooo durable that I even tried to tear through it with my own teeth and put a hole in it with no luck! Yeah it's awesome! So my kids chew on it and pull it with their teeth and it stays perfect! the neatest thing! Anyways, good luck. God Bless:)
