At 4 weeks, 1 day I was 1480 and at 4 weeks, 3 days, I was 2850. It doubled during that time like it should have, but the #'s were high. I was guessing it was twins at that point and it was confirmed at our first appt. at 8 weeks. Hope that helps.

Thanks Melissa for the response. In comparison with your numbers at 4 weeks, my numbers are not very high. I was concerned because my numbers with this pregnancy have been much higher than my last pregnancy at the same intervals and twins run in my family. However, it made me nervous to know what elevated HCG results can also mean, but the Lord is in control! Thanks so much for your help.

I tested +++ on Dec 20, 2004. Because I took clomid (first month) for progesterone problems, the doc sent me for blood work. I was 4 weeks and my HCG was 355 and Progesterone 43. One week later my HCG was 6100 and progesterone 57! They sent me for an U/S and at 6 weeks we learned there were three (since then one has passed) I am due with twins this summer.

Hi Alison, congratulations on your pregnancy. My HCG at 4/4days was 13391, at 5 weeks it was 31210 and 5/5 days it was 71698 when we also found out we're having twins. Good luck with you pregnancy.

wow, I am not the only one. I had very high HCG numbers also, but looking at some of the numbers mine are similar. I don't know what my first hcg was but it at 4 weeks, the second one was at almost 5 weeks and it was 5250 and the nurse told me it could be twins or triplets. the thought of triplets scared me to death I still can't get over it, I am still hoping they are twins. I have been trying to a long time and have been waiting for this pregnancy.

At 4 weeks 2 days my HCG level was 1554 I am not quite sure what than means yet - hoping for twins I am only around 5-1/2 weeks preg. at this point my ultrasound is 8-8-05 I will let you know what happens if I get any useful info for you-
