I am new to this message board. Sorry, I don't know all your abbreviations. I had 2 wonderful pregnancies and had two beautiful sons. Since then, I have had 5 miscarriages all between 9 - 14 weeks. I have learned a lot and done a lot of research. I just finished reading all the postings and wanted to clear up a few things. First of all, your HCG level (or pregnancy hormone level) doubles every 48 hours. If it significantly more than doubles it can be a sign of multiple births and not so favorably, be a sign of Down's. Taking a baby aspirin every day is for thinning the blood and has nothing to do with the lining of the uterus. I am border line for a blood clotting disorder and take one a day to prevent blood from clotting in the umbilical cord when I conceive again. Taking Prometrium (or Progesterone) is what prepares the lining of the uterus for the pregnancy, but you cannot take it until you are positive that you already ovulated since it will prevent pregnancy if you are not already pregnant. It is recommended to take 400 micrograms of Folic Acid per day, but I take 800 on top of what is in my prenatal vitamins. I am now on my 3rd cycle of Clomid because after all the testing, my Dr. believes that I am ovulating late which commonly causes early term miscarriages. The best of luck to all of you. Hope this answered a few questions. As for me with multiples, between my husband and I we have 4 children. 2 for each of us from previous marriages. We have custody of all 4. I really don't want twins but at this point I will be happy with anything I can get and hope you all get what you so much desire also.

DOn't worry, getting pg on your first cy of clomid isn't very common, but getting pg on your 2nd cy is way more common- so keep your chin up for next cycle!!!

Amy - GREAT NEWS! Keep us posted!

Amy - July 29th, 2005 6:24 PM

Only symptoms I have had is the last 2 days I have taken a nap, and then yesterday, I "almost" threw up. Other than that nothing. My BFP is very light- I am only 9dpo today, but it's there, and all I care about is that it gets darker! Sending my leftover babydust your way girls!!

Jaime - July 30th, 2005 1:50 AM

Amy that is fantastic news, we will be due at around the same time. I got my BFP on Wednesday. Keep us up to date with your progress. Babydust to everyone. Jaime

Jaime - July 30th, 2005 1:59 AM

To Lauren: Thanks for your support. I am very excited, but nervous. I have had quite alot of cramping. I had cramping with DS too, but I'm still nervous. I hope that what you have experienced is just implantation spotting. I spotted with DS bright red blood but stopped after a day. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Babydust- Jaime

Zoe - July 30th, 2005 6:08 AM

Congratulations Jaime and Amy!! That's fantastic news!! My specialist appointment went well and I was prescribed clomid. I have completed my first lot of clomid (the pills I got off the net) this month and I will take the other brand of clomid that the Dr. gave me next month when we try to get pregnant! I took 100mg, days 2-6. I took the pills just before bed time and that made the side effects much easier to handle. Sorry I haven't posted for a while I've been on holiday.

Lauren - July 30th, 2005 10:53 AM

Hi ladies - wel I took a test BFN...however if it was impl. spotting thurs a.m there wouldn't be enough hcg yet...however I don't think I need to think about that. I think the clomid has given me such cramping & bloating as a side effect not to mention sore breast & back ..I don't usually experience all this but, perhaps the extra hormones from taking the clomid has chg how my body is. Good luck Zoe & all

Sonya - July 30th, 2005 9:21 PM
