my story - September 18th, 2005 2:03 PM

Like Kim I ovulate normally and have no problem conceiving in the past. I have a little girl... in my quest for twins I took Clomid and did in fact get pregnant the first time... I'm healthy and have never had any problems well... I DID get pregnant but something wasn't right, my HCG levels weren't doubling as they should and I am now going though a miscarriage as I write this. The doctor believes that the Clomid effected my lining and although the egg and sperm met and was fertilized it didn't develop properly or embed correctly... BE CAREFUL and decide if this is worth it. I too would love twins but I'm not going to do it again - the risk is too high and I now have a cyst on my ovary.

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself, I recently found this board and I am so glad I did! I tried to post on other boards, but got the same reaction many of you did - that I was being selfish and stupid. My husband and I have been trying for two months now and nothing which I know is not a long time, but our first child was concieved despite contraceptives ( non chemical). Anyway, I have ordered my supply of Clomid and am hoping to start the first week in Oct. I also plan on taking the Mucinex and Asprin and i have been on Prenatals and folic acid for about 4 months. I would like to know if there is any real evidence that waitng until your 2nd cycle of Clomid is more effective or should we just go ahead and BD when the time is right on our first cycle? Any help is appreciated and Twin Dust to all*********

Hey fellow "want twins" ladies!! :) I have a favor to ask...my son is in a photo contest right now online, will you please vote for him? Go to www.photowow.com, and click on the link "Photo Contests". His entrant #: 32595. The contest ends 9/20 at 1pm. Thank you so much! We have put our TTC journey on hold for now b/c we just found out that DH will be deployed to Iraq for 7 months starting in Dec. and I don't want to be preggo while he is gone since he missed the whole pregnancy and birth of our son. Hope to see some more BFP's from everyone! :) ~Baby dust to all!~

Well I had my u/s this morning and there is only one baby. My husband is so relieved. I would have been happy either way I just want it to be healthy. I also got to hear the heartbeat. It was 136 b/m. My daughter was 160. Maybe I will have a boy this time around. I should be able to find out the sex around the middle of December. Can't ask for a better x-mas gift. I asked the nurse practicioner about the spotting and she said not to be to concerned after seeing the u/s. Everything is looking great. Thanks everyone for all your support and baby dust. Good luck and Baby Dust to you all!!!

I took clomid with my son and again with this pregnancy (prescribed), I was told to take it 5-9, and preg. with twins so you may change the days you are taking them to 5-9

Julie - September 20th, 2005 4:27 PM

Hey all... I got a faint BFP this morning, at 8-9 dpo, so I rushed in to get a quantative blood test to check HCG & Progesterone levels. I will start vag. progesterone suppositories tonight, in case the progesterone is low...which might be the reason of the last m/c. I'm SO nervous about this pregnancy. I guess that's probably normal, since I just had a m/c 8 weeks ago. Let's hope this one sticks! Baby Dust to everyone!

Julie, I haven't read to find the rest of your history but at 1st. glance it seems that we have similar problems. I also miscarry and was put on clomid to help my LP. Is this why you were put on it too? I wish you so much luck with this pregnacy!

Amanda - September 21st, 2005 1:19 AM

Congratulations Julie. I know what you are going through. My spotting has stopped and I am still a nervous wreck. I m/c at 10wks. Till I get past that point I am being very carefull. My husband has even been doing laundry because he doesn't want me to lift the laundry baskets. I am definetly NOT complaining. I wish you the best and lots of Sticky Dust!!!

Hi, I am new to the site. I have been reading all of your messages and I am very intriged by all the information. I have a doc appt. on Oct 7th and am thinking about asking her what she thinks about the drug. I have irregular cycles and never know when I am going to ovulate. Did anyone get this from their doctor for the specific purpose of having twins? Also, I have been doing alot of research and found that some people have found that they are no longer insurable because of taking this medication and some even had insurance companies turn down their husbands and kids? Has anyone here had these probs?
