Chances Of Twins On Clomid??

I would really appreciate some responses because me and my boyfriend of 4 years want to have a baby but ive been having trouble so my doctor is starting me on clomid in 2 weeks but I keep reading that people are taking it just to try and concieve twins. Are the chances really that high when taking it? because if it is then it may change my decision whether or not to take it. I have a 2 year old already and would love to have a second but 1 kid to 3 is a big jump for me.

Hi Tuckersmommy. My doc told me the chances of twins are very slim i think something like less than 10% higher chance of having multiples- The lower the dose and the futher you are in your cycle also helps reducing your chances. For example, some ladies want twins, so they would take 100mg on days 2-7 or 3-7. While those who dont would take 0mg on days 5-9. I guess you have to weigh the the pros and cons of taking clomid. There is always a risk but it is very slight. I hope that helps!
