My husband and I started considering pregnancy in September of 2008. I had been on the birth control pill for 10 years prior to that as I had a vrey irregular mentrual cycle. It has now been almost 7 months that i have been off the pill, and we have not used any other form of contraception since then. In January I consulted with my OBGYN as I was worried that I would have a tough time getting pregnant due to my irregularity. Lo and behold, blood tests revealed that I had PCOS. Since then I have been given Provera twice, to force my (fake) menstruation, and took my first round of Clomid the last week of February (50mg). I have since been using ovulation kits to help predict when I am ovulating, but for the past 10 days or so, i find myself staring at the test strips for moments at a time, trying to figure out if I see the surge or not... when you want it to be a positive surge, you try to fool yourself into believing the test line is as dark or darker than the control line. In any case, I am starting to lose faith in the ovulation test as I have read they may not be as accurate when used with Clomid. Without an Ovulation test, how else can I see when I am ovulating? If I cannot see when I am ovulating, I feel like I will never get pregnant. :(

katie_028 - March 11th, 2009 5:01 PM

jess-
how many mg of clomid were you on?? how long were you on clomid?
and by the way!! CONGRATS,i myself am starting to lose hope!

JenPrice883 - March 11th, 2009 6:32 PM

Katie028....Don't loose hope. Some women it takes longer to conceive that others. It will happen eventually. I know you dont wanna hear that because I know I hated it when people told me it will happen sooner or later. My hubby and I were trying over a year. Got diagnosed with PCOS in Dec. Got on Metformin and then a month later on Clomid. I took 2 rounds of clomid. Now we are expecting on Nov. 6th. NEVER give up hope. I keep everyone in my prayers cause I know how frustrating it is to conceive.
**Lots of sticky baby dust to all!!

We all have to have hope, there are so many times that I get frustrated that I have not gotten pregnant yet - but I know my time, just like all of yours, will come. Just think when we do have a baby we can tell them when they grow up how hard we tried for them and how much we love them. I truly believe that when we do have a child we will be more grateful and enjoy the whole experience so much more than someone who easily conceives. It helps having people that I can "talk" to, I dont know anyone in my life who has gone through this, and I am very grateful to be able to talk to other woman who truly 100% understand what I am going through and what I am feeling in my darkest most down moments.

Thank you everyone so much! Good luck to us all!!

Hi ladies!
Have tried to get info but nobody has said anything yet. I had a big cyst two weeks ago and so couldn't start clomid. Went in yesterday and still couldn't start clomid b'cos the cyst was still somewhat big although it had shrunk. Have been asked to take one more week of bcp and go back next week thursday.
Ladies, my dh and i are frustrated that we couldn't start b'cos we both want a baby so bad. Has anyone had a cyst before? I am so worried and will appreciate any info at all. Please help!
Congrats Jess and good luck to all.

Faith.

hi!!
I would like to kno if it is possible to O just after the last pill? usually after takin the last pill you can expect ovulation to occur 5 to 9 days after but my question is can ovulation occur just after the last pill. I am asking all this is becuse i start the clomid without having a period, a new cycle so maybe it can cause me to O earlier i mean befor the 5 days after the last pill. Waiting for your answers.

jessi01 - March 11th, 2009 10:14 PM

hi everyone,
well rpats, i thought we were trying for 2 years, but i my dh says we tried for one year so i will go with that LOL.

Katie, please don;t loose hope trust i was in ue shoes like a month ago, i thought i would never ever in my life get pregnant, but god and meds to wonders. if only u were in my mind the times i was trying, i would never wish this upon no one, its hard but only us brave women can get through this, never loose hope, just think that by trying u r going to be holding ur beautiful baby soon, i promise.

i actually tried clomid 50mcg it did nothing, then they up mu dose to 100mcg (THIS IS ALL IN THE SAME CYCLE) it did nothing also, so then they put me on FSH shots, now that is the wonder drug that works like magic, it grew my follicle from 7 something to 12.5 then 15.5 then finally 19.5 in like 1 week, then i trigger on feb 20 which was a friday, BD that night, then took a digital ovulation test on saturday which i got a postive for ovulation, so i ovulated that sunday and BD like all day, then 2 weeks later(which was this monday Fed 9) i found out that i was pregnant.

HOPE THAT HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!!
BABYDUSTXOXOXO

Thanks a billion Katie. Though you had no info, it was reassuring that you replied. God bless and you are all in my prayers.

JenPrice883 - March 12th, 2009 7:12 AM

Katie...I was actually only on 50MG of clomid. The doctor gave me 3 refills on clomid and thats it! No testing or coming in every day/every other day. So I had to basically google everything! I was so frustrated cause it didnt work my first round but this forum made me realize that majority of women get pregnant on their 3rd round of clomid. I was very luck to conceive on my 2nd round. I was also on Metformin to regulate my menstrual. And I was so worried in the second month that I wasnt going to start but I sure did. There was a lot of BDing going on LOL. My dh was loving it. Now since I got a BFP, I cut him off....hahaha., Not on purpose tho, I'm just soooo exhausted all the time! But it will happen. Some women it will take time. My best friend has been wanting to get pregnant for a while but she was waiting on me to get pregnant. The nite we found out I had a BFP (she was there), she started trying. Can u believe that shes pregnant already? So we should be about 1 or 2 weeks apart. It did bother me that she got pregnant so quick because I was so frustrated when we were trying to conceive!!
