morning ladies.... So I went to the RE on Friday, 4/10 - and can I say I think I took a deep & very positive breathe for the first time in I dont know how long??? I felt like I was visiting 'The Practice', something about the vibe in the clinic.. .everyone was so cheery and upbeat, the doctor was so patient and positive, he drew out a diagram of what the next few weeks would look like for me, explaining everythign slowly and clearly...he did an ultrasound right away and walked me through what he was checking - my lining thickness, etc. I then went back this morning as I am on day #3 of my cyle, the doc performed another u/s and checked that my ovaries were not swollen, and confirmed that I did not have any cysts....so I am clear to start my 100mg Clomid round #2 tonight, and then go back to the clinic on Tuesday for another u/s.
This definitely feels better than just going to my regular OB and leaving the rest up to guest work. :)

Hope all the expectant mom's are doing well, and good luck to the rest of us!

rpats - I am glad to hear that things are looking better for you. It is always nice when you feel like you are being taken care of and when all your question are being answered.

rpats- I'm so happy to hear that you had a good experienced... We went to the injection class last thursday and it was actually pretty easy, although hubby will be the one giving them... Keep us posted!!

thanks guys.,...def feeling better with all the monitoring.. helps so much.
So now I have the option of thaving the dye test done - name is escaping me at this moment. The doc said that I shldnt really feel obligated to do it, as my history suggests i have pretty straight forward pcos, with no other complicatiosn, but then he also said I may think "why not" uncover this stone as well while I am at it. So I am leaning towards doing it, this way I can know for sure that the tubes are all clear and that isnt a problem. I am just nervous about the pain..... I have to call the clinic today and schedule it for this week if I want to go ahead with it. yikes

SoReady - April 13th, 2009 12:58 PM

rpats - If you read through the older post, other people who have had the dye test done say that it is lucky! They have said that most people conceive right after having it.

les706 - April 13th, 2009 1:07 PM

rpats ~ it's called hsg and I would have it done if I were you. It's really not very painful. Just take a couple of advil before you go and as long as your tubes are open, it shouldn't hurt much. Just a little cramping. I had one done the month I conceived. I don't know if it contributed to my conception, but just in case, I'm glad I did it. Good luck!

Chewymio - April 13th, 2009 1:08 PM

rpats - I agree with SoReady, you have a small chance to conceive for the next three month after you have a HSG done. I had it done back in December and I think it's more painful the thought than the actual test.. they usually tell you to take Iboprofen a few hours before the test so it can help you with the cramps, but it's not that bad I promise, and that way they can find out if any tube is block or if you have endometriosis, or a cyst etc, etc, etc...

rpats - April 13th, 2009 1:14 PM

:) Thanks so much ladies- thats all I needed to be pushed over the edge! haha
I thought I had read that it wasnt as bad in previous posts... but with all the reading I have been doing on this, it sometimes gets lost.
I will definitely schedule my test today. I hope I can go on Saturday, as all this running around on weekdays is not helping my work schedule!
She did tell me to take 4 Advil or Motrin before I went in....:)

Chewymio - April 13th, 2009 1:23 PM

rpats- Good Luck!!! and hopefully you can get pregnant after that!!!

rpats - April 13th, 2009 2:02 PM

thanks. man do i hope so too! Okay, hsg test is scheduled for thursday afternoon. with the number of trips I am taking to the RE, I may as well just sleep in their parking lot. lol

Chewymio - April 13th, 2009 4:56 PM

rpats - that's how I feel, but at the end it'll be all worth it!! Good luck with your HSG test!!!

Ashley2121 - April 13th, 2009 5:26 PM

rpats - I am glad to hear that you have decided to have the HSG test. I had one done at the beginning of March and am now preg. I read online that although its not scientificaly proven that it can help within 3 months after the test. And really its more mind over matter - it didnt really hurt just felt like cramping for about 30 seconds. I am also glad to hear that you had such a good experience with your new RE.

AFM I just found out that DHs snobby cousin is preg too! She is due a week after me. I know its petty but I am sure you ladies kind of understand - I feel like shes stealing my thunder - although we havint told DHs side of the family yet. I wanted to be the only preg one LOL :)

rpats - April 13th, 2009 5:36 PM

thanks ashley. def liking the RE so far!

Lol. i totally understand what you are sayig about the snobby cousin. i swear, i always tell my husband how i feel so bad for thinking it, but in some sense, i too feel competitive against his sister. She got married 4 months after we did, and I know she is ready to conceive... I even had a dream the other night that she broke the news to us... and i was crushed.....
I want to be the first one in the fam!!!!
LOL

bmcoh - April 13th, 2009 7:53 PM

Rpats your so lucky to be going to an RE!! I watch "The Practice" and I always tell my husband I wish there was a place like that around here I could go too!!! Good Luck!
I understand Ashley. But when you break the news its going to be about 2 babies not 1!!!!!! Thats so awesome!

AFM..called the Dr. office today to let them know AF showed up yesterday and today was cycle day 2, round 4 and see what was in store for me and of course the Dr. wasn't in..so he is supposed to call me tomorrow to discuss the plans...I am assuming I will start Clomid for the 4th time around..
