rpats - thanks, I just hate needles, and I know that after all we go thru I should be used to it by now, but I don't know, there is something about needles that I dislike..lol!!! Did you take Clomid? how many follicles matured? O god you are brave!!! I don't think I can't inject myself, and if I have to it'll probably take me an hour or two...

lol. i hear you. I hate needles too! and trust me- if i didnt keep reading that i should use the Ovidrel 30 mins after it was taken out of the fridge...I prob woulda procrastinated more!
I did one round of Comid at 50mg with my OB in February.... then I did a 2nd round of Clomid at 100mg.
I only had 2 decent sized follicles, and the RE advised me to take the Ovidrel when I had reached 18mm. I think my follicles sizes were very small in comparison to what I have heard on this forum, and my RE had also called me that week while he was monitoring and prescribed me Clomid 200mg....I dont think he thought they were going to grow large enough that cycle.... but he than called me back about an hour later and told me NOT to take the Clomid, and to come back in a few days from then for another u/s...so luckily he changed his mind and I didnt cancel out that cycle.

Oh wow!!! You were lucky... I'm trying not to be too possitive about the whole thing. They have corrected what was impeding me from getting pregnant. When I was going to the OBGyn for the first and second round of Clomid they told me that I reacted very well to Clomid, and the RE comfirmed, but I'm afraid that with Follistim in the equation I may have too many and they may cancel the procedure... When I had my CD3 u/s they spotted 15 follicles, when I asked the technitian if that was normal she told me that I was an over achiever, so I don't know.... I was told by the nurse that taught us how to do the injections, that if they see too many mature ones or possible ones they may cancel or let you know the risk of having multiples.. I don't know I'm just a little nervous about the whole thing, I just want it to go great... I quess I'm being my usual pesimistic self...

aww- well you have every right to have your optimistic and your pessimistic moments... anyone going through this can relate....
so what dose of Clomid are you on?

Chewymio - May 18th, 2009 2:02 PM

I'm taking half a pill which makes it 25 mg CD3 - CD7. I'm currently CD6.. Now I'm getting ready to go to the pharmacy to pick up the injections so I can start tomorrow... Follistim and ovidrel...

Thanks for the advice ladies!

Nikki995 - Good luck with the RE appointment. I hope that everything goes well.

AFM - My DH and I have decided to go to an RE. We are scheduled for May 28th. On a side note, does anyone know the approximate cost for seeing an RE?

tina3323 - May 19th, 2009 12:18 AM

Hey ladies!

Tomorrow is my first ultrasound, I am sooo nervous. I think I will be 6w4d. I will let u all know how it goes! So morning sickness has hit and I have had the worst last two days. It is all worth it though.

rpats- I had cramping at first also. It was uncomfortable but not painful. I gets some every now and then but it has gone away for the most part. My doctor says it ok as long as u dont bleed with cramps, or have really strong ones that u cant stand. So dont worry ur good!
