Quiet forum today! I haven't had much to share lately. Started the tww yesterday, AGAIN. I'm going for blood work next week to check my progesterone levels to see if I ovulated. Nothing fun to report. =(

rpats - June 5th, 2009 4:20 PM

it went well... everything is on point... and the doc will start lowering my prometrium dosage next week.... still using the table vaginally once a day.

Good luck Nikki
It's been very quiet today, guess all the ladies are busy.

Hi Ladies, this is my first time posting. My hubby and I have been ttc for years. My doctor finally prescribed clomid and I got pregnant after 3 rounds, but m/c at 6.5 weeks. After the m/c it took 7 weeks to get my first period. Should I take clomid again? Do a lot of women m/c on clomid?

merciano - June 5th, 2009 9:57 PM

Welcome Janiejane and sorry about the m/c. I think you should consult your doctor before taking clomid again. And ur sec ques, not many women m/c on clomid. M/C happens every now and then even when one is not on clomid. I guess ur doc will know what is best for you at this point in time, since u ve m/c on clomid he might prescribe some other drugs to use with it if you are to start another round. I wish u all the best of luck in ttc.

Ladies my doc told me to BD every 2days. Hubby needs time to build it back up or its like water the next day. But is there something I can feed him to BD as often as possible. I don't want to miss a beat. If there's something I can feed him to make his sperm potent the next day too I would really like to know. Thanx

merciano - June 6th, 2009 1:49 PM

wishing... every two days is still ok and u can increase it to everyday on ur most fertile days. It's not how often we bd that will make us get pregg, we only try our best and leave the rest for God. I heard yogurt nourishes the sperm but i dnt knw how true it is.

hi ladies!!
How is evryone here?
the forum is very quiet. I guess no 1 has new updates to share with here.
I am on cd7 and finish clomid yesterday so here we are again in the baby dance.LOL
I would luv to me if clomid increas my chance of having twins by more than 10% becuz fraternal twins run in my family by father.I have auntes and grand uncles who are fraternal twins(not all of them anyway)and my great grandma had 3 sets of fraternal twins and 1 set of triplets but m/c 2 of them, and my grandma had 1 or 2 sets of twins So does that bring up my chance?
Just curios to know that's all

Hi wishing4mini_me ;
There is many things you can do to increase sperm count like :
- Drinking 2 liters of water at least 4 hours before intercourse.
- Any food with zinc. The best are the oysters they are really high in Zinc, also nuts.
- Foreplay; or long intercourse would also increase it.
And i also heard of some pills, i think it s volumax, to increase sement.
Normally they advised 4 abtinence days before the 0 period to get it good concentrated. If i were you i would do it once a day to let him time to recover to make sure it s at its best.
I tried that with my husband this month, and i am now 9 days from testing. So i will tell you if all that did the job. Good luck x

Hi Sashana,
it seems your chances are more than great for you to have twins. Hope this month will work for you.x

Wishing... I got this article and i think i should share with you.

Folic acid boosts male fertility
Lots of women already know that getting plenty of folic acid, one of the B vitamins, can reduce the risk of certain birth defects that occur early in pregnancy. New evidence now suggests that folic acid deficiency reduces fertility in men and may damage the DNA carried by sperm.

After showing that a folate-restricted diet made sperm counts plunge 90 percent in rats, researcher Bruce Ames and his colleagues at the University of California at Berkeley showed that folic acid deficiency has a similar effect in men.

The body needs folic acid to produce DNA, but not everyone gets enough in the food they eat. About 10 percent of Americans and Europeans consume too little. Couples who want to start a family should make an effort to get adequate folic acid before they ever conceive. The recommended daily amount is 600 micrograms (abbreviated as "mcg" or "µg") for pregnant women and 400 for other adults.

Some people take supplements to get extra folic acid, but many foods are also rich in the vitamin, including: orange juice, beans and lentils, fortified cereals, peanuts, sunflower seeds, and chicken or beef liver.
