Hi Ladies I am very new to this and sorry I don't know all the abreviations yet. I am 33 and just started Clomid today. I have not been getting my period every month and this past time hadn't gotten it since November 28th. I convinced myself and my boyfriend that I was pregnant. Until I went to the Dr last Thursday and he said no your not. And actually I started to have light bleeding that day. So I was truly heartbroken and then had to tell my overly excited fiance that once again I was not pregnant. My doctor said lets try Clomid 50 mgs for three months if it doesnt work you come back and we go from there. I am so nervous about it and if it has any side effects. I would appreciate any advice and helpful tips you can give me about Clomid. When should I take it? I took todays after work cause I was scared I was going to get sick or something. Sorry to ramble on I am tired and need to go to bed. I was just looking for some answers and found theis site. I hope it helps me.

Hi ladies!

Samanha - SO good to see you back... I am praying for BFP news from you today!! I am with you when you analyze all your symptoms. It can drive you batty. I started a journal to help me cope :)...

Jen - Good luck with this cycle...

Hoping - Let us know about the u/s

Andy's - Don't get discouraged. Clomid has done wonderful things for lots of couples so the side effects are all worth it!

Les - Hope the HSG did the trick for you... While somewhat unpleasant, it's worth it to know if you have blockage...

So... apparently my HSG earlier this month worked for us! Or maybe it was the OV Watch! Or maybe it was just chilling out and stopping with the morning temperature thing! Or maybe it was the positive OPK! (Are you all as obsessive as I am about this TTC thing?!) Regardless of what it was, we're preggers!! I just had this feeling we were pregnant and took a HPT on Friday which was CD24 (yes, I know, VERY early) but it was BFP! I took another one two days later and yep, still BFP! So, I made a doctor's appointment yesterday morning and he is able to see me this afternoon for what they call the "confirming appointment". I'm very excited but at the same time a little nervous since we miscarried at 5.5 weeks in August and I am right now at 5 weeks. My DH is over the moon... We are just praying this is our miracle realized. I'll keep you all posted.

Sticky baby dust to all... XO

katie_028 - February 3rd, 2009 10:20 AM

andy-best of luck to you..i wasnt getting my period either, the doctor put me on provera to make me get my period...so that way i would take clomid....this was my first month taking 50 clomid....you take it on your period either days 3-7 or 5-9 whatever days your doctor tells you...i took mine 3-7...i am now doing the ovulation kit everymoring..tomorrow till be day 14 and my lh still hasnt showen 2 lines yet..but the doctor told me i ovulate later then most ppl , so i will just wait and see....the only side effects i had was some bad cramping the first day, but i just took some ib profin and it took the cramps away...i hope this helped a little bit...i have heard some ppl get moody, but i was just so happy, and excited to go on clomid, lol i never got moody...

shannon-CONGRATS, that is sooooooooooo exciting...YAY proof clomid works...YAY for a success story, that makes my day, and makes my hopes go up even more...

katie_028 - February 3rd, 2009 10:24 AM

andy- also i forgot to say, my doctor told me to take clomid the same time everyday you take it..

JenPrice883 - February 3rd, 2009 11:07 AM

~~Shannon...CONGRATS!!! Omg, I am soooo excited for you! Good Luck w/ the pregnancy and I got my fingers crossed for ya!
**Samantha...still got my fingers crossed for you...today is the day!! Good Luck girl!!!
``Andysgirl....I have had no side effects on Clomid...my first round I had a little bit of hot flashes but thats all. Now I am on my second round and I feel perfectly normal. I have read a lot of great success stories about Clomid...we actually got Shannon_Atlanta that just found out yesterday she is preggers. Also, my doctor put me on Metformin to kick start my period and it has worked these past 2 months. Good Luck w/ the first round!

--As for me, well basically the doc gave me three months worth of clomid and didnt say nothing else. The first round was cd3-7. So, that didnt work. So I when w/ my instincts and is doing cd2-6. But now the more I have read into this...I think I should of waited to do cd5-9. Last month and this month I have had my AF. And they are 34 days apart. So, because I was so anxious to take another round of clomid...I think I took it too soon because I ovulate later than normal :-(.
~~Good Luck to everyone~~ Lotsa baby dust to all

Hi Ladies! I've been reading your posts for awhile now... trying to keep my spirits up. I appreciate all the support you give each other! It's truly wonderful. My story: I am 28 and have been married for almost 5 years. I stopped taking birth control in Feb. of 08 and thought we would get pregnant immediately. Well, that obviously wasn't the case! I've always had a regular period... almost 28 days exactly. After a few months, I started using OPK's. In 4 months, I only had one true "surge". My husband had an analysis done and everything was fine. My doctor prescribed 50mg of clomid. An opk showed a strong surge the first month. Now, I'm on my second month of clomid 50mg. This is such a frustrating process. I hate the weeks of waiting. Now, it seems like everyone around me is getting pregnant and I'm not. I'm taking clomid on days 3-7 and tomorrow is my last pill. The waiting game continues :)

JenPrice883 - February 3rd, 2009 12:50 PM

*edims....I take my last pill tomorrow also. It's cool to have someone at the same schedule. I wish u all the best. I havent used an OPK but I will this month. I should be ovulating around the 19th (my cycle is 34 days apart) And this is my second round of Clomid!
^^BABY DUST TO ALL^^

les706 - February 3rd, 2009 12:55 PM

Shannon ~ Congrats!! That's so awesome and it gives us all hope. Best of luck to you - keep in touch and let us know if it's one or two!
Samantha~ I have had minor cramps - nothing too bad, because there's only one. Well there is a second but it's not maturing enough so it probably won't be any good, but I'll find out for sure tomorrow. I don't know my blood results, they didn't call me with them yesterday. Anyway, I hope you get your BFP this month! It sounds like the symptoms are there, so good luck and baby dust!!!
Andysgirl~ I had some headaches on clomid and some cramps the first two days. No mood swings or anything and I was expecting the worst so it's really not too bad. A lot of people take theirs at night so the side effects are slept off, but I took mine in the morning and I was fine. Like Katie said though, make sure you take it at the same time every day.
Edims~ I know how frustrating it is. I never imagined I'd have trouble. And DH and I had so many tests done and they've found nothing wrong with us, so it's even more frustrating. The only off thing is that I sometimes don't ovulate every month, and my cycle can vary from 28 days to 45 or even 60 days. So maybe my problem is we just can't pinpoint when I am ovulating. Luckily this month they are giving me the trigger shot so I will know exactly when to bd.
Jen~ I don't think the days make a huge difference. I've heard that the earlier you take it, the more follicles you'll have, and the later, the better the follicles will be. I took mine 5-9 and only had one follicle, so 2-6 may work out better for you. Just hang in there! We need lots more BFP's like Shannon!!! BABY DUST LADIES!

love2bemom - February 3rd, 2009 5:27 PM

**Jessirose** We had the same exact thing happen with the periods and with birth contol. Me and my husband have been together for 6 years and married for 5 months and i got off the birth control 6 months before we got married and no period as well. The doctor put me on provera and then i found out i have PCOS and he put me on metformin and clomid.. I ovulated on the first round of clomid progestrone level was a 21.5 so that was good, but didn't get prego.. i start my next cycle when AF comes this month.. It was so frustrating when AF arrived.. WE want a baby so bad.. It feels good to find somebody that has been through and going through the same thing.. i will keep my fingers crossed for ya.. BAby dust to ya....

mattandtresa - February 3rd, 2009 6:15 PM

Hello to All,
I am new to this site, just kinda discovered it by researching Clomid. I will begin taking Clomid in March to help with a LPD. I became pregnant in Oct. '08 & m/c after 6 weeks. I had a d&e in Dec. just 3 days before Christmas. All went well with the surgery & now we begin the process of TTC. My Husband & I have been together for 11 years & will be celebrating our 6th yr anniversary this May. This will be our 1st child if all goes well. I am hoping that the Clomid will work for us. Good luck & baby dust to all!

Vickybelle - February 3rd, 2009 7:30 PM

2 days until testing. I'm so scared to test! I know if it's BFN I will be heartbroken, much more so than every other time. I'm so nervous and excited at the same time! ahh!!

Shannon, YAY!!!!! you give me hope girl!

les706 - February 4th, 2009 9:45 AM

So I went to the doc's this morning. I had bw and u/s. My one follicle is matured enough, so they gave me the trigger shot. DH and I have to bd tomorrow morning and tomorrow night, then I go back for bw in a week to check my p4 levels and then two weeks from tomorrow I can take a hpt. Hope I get a BFP!!!

edims - February 4th, 2009 11:03 AM

JenPrice883: Wow, it sounds like we have the same exact story! It's great to find people who are going through the same struggles. Good luck!

MattandTresa: Good luck. It seems that Clomid has worked for many women so hopefully we'll get the same result!

Vickybelle: I'll push all my positive thoughts your way. Good luck... I hope you get a positive!

katie_028 - February 4th, 2009 11:06 AM

*edims-good luck to you, i know what you mean with everyone getting pregnant around you, but you time will hopefully be soon...
*matt&tresa-sorry to to hear about all of your complications, best of luck to you on clomid..
*vickybelle-best of luck to you,..baby dust
*les-wow, that is great about the follicle, best of luck...my doctor isnt checking me while on clomid..i wonder why...cause if i dont get pregnant this month she is going to do another month of clomid
baby dust to all....hopefully our time is right around the corner!!!

les706 - February 4th, 2009 12:01 PM

katie~ Yeah I was surprised how aggressive my doctor is. I'm 22, dh is 32 and we've been married for 4 years, ttc for 2 on our own before finally seeking help. I went in for my consultation about three days before AF started. At my consultation, they did an ultrasound and bloodwork - and told me to call them on cd1. Well that happened to be a few days later, so right away they started me on clomid 100mg, and ordered the hysteroscopy and hsg. I've gone in for bloodwork it seems like every other day! I've had 4 ultrasounds to date. And today I got the trigger. So it's been pretty overwhelming, but I am definitely grateful that they are aggressive because my insurance only covers my clomid for the first cycle, and all the testing. So if it doesn't happen this month, I'm going to have to pay out of pocket. And after reading everyone else's stories, I am surprised that I have had so much done so soon. I guess it all depends on the doctor. It definitely makes more sense to me that they keep checking you while on clomid, so you know if you are even going to ovulate (if you have any follicles) and they can give you hcg so you know exactly when to ovulate. Good luck to you!!

JenPrice883 - February 4th, 2009 12:12 PM

~Les706...wow, they have done a lot for you already. I guess it is all depending on ur doctor. Mine gave me Metformin in the beginning of Dec and Clomid at the end of Dec. They done blood work one time and thats it.
~Edims...I wish you luck with you cycle. Maybe we can get preggo around the same time....fingers crossed!
**The more stories I read on here the more I feel greedy with trying to get preggo. I have a 3 yr old w/o any kind of meds. And I am stressing about having another one? I feel pretty bad for the ones that don't even have one child. I hope all the different meds and tests will help each and everyone!!
I'm not understading how I got PCOS! None of my family memebers have it. I didnt even know what it was until I got diagnosed with it. The PCOS made me gain a tremendous amount of weight. Around 60 lbs within over a half of a year. Doc put me on the Metformin....been regular for the past 2 months PLUS lost 11 lbs. already!
I wish you all good luck and baby dust.
I havent seen Samantha on here....hope shes ok. I k now she was suppose to AF the other day.....I hope it didnt come!
