Hey girls!
So today is CD 1 for me. Back to the beginning. But I was expecting af...I was on Provera. She came awfully early though...normally it's about 5 days after my last pill and I just took my last one on Sunday, so it's only been 2 days. Hmmm. Oh well. So Thursday I'll start 100mg of Clomid. I have really high hopes about this month. I don't know why, I don't want to get too disappointed if we don't become pregnant, but I just have a good feeling...being optimistic. Well, I hope everyone is doing well! Update me on what's been happening!! Baby dust baby dust baby dust!!!!!

mshigh - November 5th, 2008 7:59 AM

hi girls, sorry i havent posted in a while. update...
i went out of town for a few days and got back home sat night. had some spotting and then sunday am started bleeing. i went to the er and blood test and u/s confirmed my biggest fear, we lost it. 5weeks and 2days. i just really thought this was goin to be ok. i did everything right i just dont understand. they couldnt tell me what happened, although i feel like it would give me closure. its so hard when you want something so bad and you do everything youre suppose to, and again you fail. dr said we have to wait another month before we try again. so 2008 dosent have it in the cards for us to have our little miracle. im not really sure what to do now, i just feel so lost....

I am about to start my first round of clomid 50mg with metformin. I have PCOS and having been trying to conceive without aid or success for 2 years. Is there anyone out there that can offer any pointers or success stories for me? I am nervous and just need a little encouragement. Thanks so much you guys!

worththewait - November 6th, 2008 10:51 AM

Oh, MSHIGH, I am soooooo sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine the saddness you must be feeling. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know that some day you will have your precious baby. It will be soon, I know it. Take comfort in the fact that your body is receptive to pregnancy...you know for sure that it can happen, and it will again. I'm so sorry darlin'!! Giving you all the baby dust I can give!!

BirdieD - November 6th, 2008 11:39 AM

Hello everyone, I'm new to all of this.

Hi Tiffkay6, yesterday I finished my first round of Clomid on days 3-7 50mg. I have only had hot flashes so far. We have been ttc for a 1 1/2 now with no luck. I just had my 7th surgery for Endometriosis, and they wanted to do IUI but we do not have the money for that at this time. So we are hopping Clomid will work. I have had two friends call me this week to say the are progo! Hope it will be us soon. Best wishes to you all.

Tiffkay6 - November 6th, 2008 12:35 PM

Hey BirdieD... I also just started my metformin last night and the side effect most common is diarhea. My doc warned me and let me tell ya, it is BAD. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it get better once your body gets used to it or should I just go ahead and stop taking it? Good Luck to you Birdie, I hope things work out. Btw just wondering, how much does IUI typically cost?

puns78 - November 6th, 2008 3:02 PM

hey tiffkay6 i jus re-started my metformin on monday n that s/e came along with it. haven't had ne problems since that 1st day except for the fact that i don't have an appetite which isn't all that bad. hang in there, it gets better.....we've been ttc for 2 yrs now and i'm on my 3rd round of clomid....now on cd6 n started 100mg tuesday. ~birdieD....i just found out my bil &sil are expecting...hopefully this will be our year!!!

LucianLad - November 6th, 2008 4:04 PM

Hi Tiffkay 6 .
An IUI is really not that expensive. With an IUI you have to do a sperm wash as well. With mine it was 69.00 for the wash , and the IUi it self was 189.00 . My insurance paid 1/2 so it cost me 129.00 total . And I had back to back IUI's . So Its really not the much , I thought it would have been somewhere in the thousands . But its cheap !!

Cross your fingers for me all, I can check on the 17th , but i want to go buy 11 tests and take one veery day !! i know Pointless but i am excited . Back to back better help me !!! baby dust to you all !!!

Tiffkay6 - November 6th, 2008 5:33 PM

Ok thanks for your help guys! I hope we don't have to do an IUI because it is so hard to schedule things like that around my work schedule. Of course if we have to, I will make it work because we want a baby really bad. Good luck LucianLad and puns78!! Update on how things are going with you =)

LucianLad - November 7th, 2008 9:58 AM

Hey Tiffkay6 ,
Just to let you know , the IUI doesn't take long at all , I had it done about 9:30 and I was at work back at 10:45 , Of corse I only work about 10 minutes from the hospital , But the longest part was my doc. had me lay there for 30 minutes . But it was very quick and honestly i did not even fell it , at all . But the only thing is that it cause MULTIPLES !!! Many of the nations sextuplets were from IUI's . So thats the only thing to watch . Baby dust to you all !!!!

BirdieD - November 7th, 2008 11:27 AM

Hi LucianLad,
We were told from our Dr. the IUI is $7k! What state do you live in? Do you think it might have something to do with where we live? Or do you think there was more to what they wanted to do then an IUI........ I'm in shock it was so cheap for you!? It gives me hope that we can do that if the Clomid will not work for us. Hope you are doing well.

LucianLad - November 7th, 2008 1:48 PM

Honestly I don't know why it would cost that much , I am in texas . But we had to do a whole lot . They gave us STRICT time frames to abide by. See My issue was that my CM was killing off his sperm . So thats why they thought it was happening . They even told us to go home have intercourse and come back in 2 days so they could look at it , under a microscope. So I think we went the whole way .But 7K WOW!!!!
I also had back to Back IUI's . I would do some searching on infertility and see what your insurance will cover. Most of the time its only 50% but also look at the other doctors in your area. Because i know that IVF is usually only 5k . If you have any more questions I am happy to answer , becuase I wanted answers as well before I did it .

geya823 - November 7th, 2008 4:53 PM

hello all,
Ihave also had the IUI the sperm wash was $200 and my insemnation was $240. I am in NC.
We will be doing it again this week. The insurance that I have BCBS did not cover anything.
This is my sixth rond of clomid and the effects have been the worst. I wake up with blurred vision but it goes away in about 15 minutes. I am just not myself.
