I has been a week or ore since I have written but I come to the site daily. I just had my IUI and it went weel. I was quite upset at first when the front desk person at my doctor office stated I had to pay up front since my insurance does not cover service. I was like ok what ever but we have a small window to get this injected. I got so mad I just started to cry. My mother was with me because dh had to get back to work but she tried to calm and console me. I understand they need to get their money but they could have got it on the way out. And that would the world turns!!!!! |

Okay so I just got done with my doctors appointment and they said that I had ZERO mature follicles after days 3-7 Clomid (today is day 8) but that my uterine lining was thick enough so that is good. Now this is the weird part, he said that he wants to put me on 100 mg (increasing from 50 mg) of Clomid starting today through day 12 and see if that will mature the follicles and follow up with an HCG injection to induce ovulation. hm...I didn't know that was possible. And I have a doctors appointment on day 13 to see the progress. Has anyone heard of this or had success with it? I didn't know you could be on Clomid more that once per cycle. HELP! |

Hello everyone. I am fairly new to this site and to clomid. I am excited though to be able to find a group that can understand my worries and fears. My OB decided to put me on it after multiple problems. I am just waiting for AF to arrive so I can start my first dose. I am a little nervous both for any side effects and for the pregnancy. I just hope that all goes well and DH and I can be celebrating a pregnancy soon. Any one have any advice for the newbie (me! :D) ? Anything I should be aware of before hand that my doc may not have told me? Any information is good. Baby dust to all and I wish you all luck! |

dancergirl: I also am new to the site but there seems to be a wealth of information here from all the ladies that have been going through this for some time! I am also on clomid at the 50mg dosage. As far as side effects goes I have only experienced the hot flashes. I'm not sure if that is due to the low dosage that i am on. I would ask your OB depending on your dosage what you could expect. Although as we all know every woman is different so you side effects could be different then others. I wish you good luck though as I know the frustration that you are going through! Baby dust to everyone here!! |

I am new to this forum, and really appreciate all the helpful hints everyone has shared. I just found out from my fert doc that I am pregnant, and wanted to share what seems to have worked. First, to let you know about me, I am 38, have a 27-month old son, and have been ttc again for 13 months. I did get pregnant in July of this year, but miscarried when baby measured 6w3d. After miscarriage, I skipped one cycle to let my body heal and reduce risk of back-to-back miscarriages. Then, my OB instructed me to stick with the following plan and then go to fert doc if it didn't work. Here's what the plan was.. Take 50 mg clomid days 3-7, then 2 estrogen patches days 8-11.5, then TTC days 10-16, then on day 17 start using 8% prochieve vag gel (progesterone) nightly until told otherwise. I followed the plan except as follows. We TTC days 10, 13, 14, 17, 18 and then delayed the prochieve for another 2 days while we were still TTC. (We did not know if sperm could swim through the Prochieve gel.) I will continue using the 8% prochieve gel for most of the first trimester, and possibly beyond that. (I was also using prochieve when I miscarried, but I was not being monitored, either.) As y'all recommended I also used Mucinex and evening primrose after finishing up clomid and until ovulation. My cycles have been 33 - 45 days long for most of the past 13 months, until these last 3 cycles, when they were 31-ish days, so I wasn't going to stick with the planned days to ttc if the cf, bbt, and opt showed a delay (which they did by 2 days). For 13 months, I have been tracking my cf, basal temp, and taking opts. This time, the opt was positive days 17-19, and my temp rose days 15-17 then held steady and slightly increased. I had egg-white cf days 12-15 although much, much less on the clomid than normal, and there were pink streaks in it for two days, which I've never seen before. I read that the pink streaks can be caused by the release of the egg(s). I will be monitored closely by fert doc for 1st trimester. When I told fert doc I took mucinex and evening primrose, he said the mucinex does not thin the cf as many of us would like to think, and he also advised to be careful about taking evening primrose if you are on hormones at the same time (as I was). For all I know, the mucinex and evening primrose helped, but I would just recommend letting your doc know what you're taking. I didn't meet with the fert doc until this week, and was just trying to get a plan in place with him in case I wasn't pregnant, and so that I wouldn't have to wait another month to start next plan (which we decided would be IVF). I feel like I know several of you after reading the entire history of this forum over the past month. Thank you again for sharing your personal stories and helpful hints. I'm praying that I don't miscarry again. If we do, we will leap into an IVF cycle, which takes two months because you are on birth control for the first month. Baby dust and many blessings to each of you wonderful ladies. I hope what worked for me will work for any one else who tries it. - Red |

hello ladies! i see there are a few newbies in here. yay! how has everyone been doing? sorry its been a while since i posted. after all of that, it took me a little while to get back to myself. a little update... waiting for af, not sure what day im on bc doc told me not to coutnt this as a regular cycle and thet it might be longer than usual. but if it is on track, af should be here within a week or so. as soon as shes here we can start round 2 at 100mg days 5-9. im kind of concerned bc dh hasnt said anything about it. he seems to be scared to try again. i cant blame him though, i dont think i could do it again. im wondering if taking progesterone gel might help me this time. what do you think? im just praying that it will happen soon. my job dosent provide insurance at all, so i applied to another company with excellent benefits just in case this isnt the answer. like i dont have enough going on, trying for a baby, change of career, and soon the holidays! sorry ive rambled on and on. hope everything is going great for everyone and i cant wait for some bfps!!!! BABYDUST BABYDUST BABYDUST!!!!! |

mshigh -- it sounds like you and I may be on the same cycle. I have been having weird ones lately also, but mine is set to start sometime this weekend. I will then be starting my first round of 100 mg clomid on 4-8. Good luck to you! My DH is worried about me getting preggers as I would definitely be a high risk due to previous medical history so I can kind of understand you there, although our stories are different. GL and lots of baby dust! |

Hi everybody.. I'm new to posting and I've found a lot of helpful info on here. My hubby and I have been ttc for about 3 years now. I'll be 37 in January and am getting worried now about my age and possible complications if I become pregnant. I have 2 healthy boys from a past marriage but my husband has no kids, he's 38 and would like to experience fatherhood. He's happy with my boys and considers them his but we would like to have a baby that's ours. Last year I went to my OB/Gyn and had some lab work done on me and him and he said everything seemed to be fine except I have a tilted uterus and he wanted to do a lap procedure to go in and check everything out. We are both self employed and have no insurance and I didn't want to spend the money on that procedure since we'll be paying for the pregnancy and birth when and if it happens. My doctor wouldn't even consider putting me on Clomid unless I had the procedure done so we have just been trying on our own for the past year and it still hasn't happened. Last month I got desperate and ordered some Clomid from Mexico. I got 60 pills of the brand Clomid for $52 and after hearing what everyone is paying here in the states...wow. I'm a little nervous about doing this on my own without a doctors help but hopefully everything will turn out okay. I'm thinking I will start 100 mg on days 3-7 which will have me starting them on Wednesday. I have started taking Evening Primrose today, have been drinking grapefruit juice (which I read somewhere helps with the CM) and will start taking the Mucinex on day 7. I have enough pills for 6 months but hopefully I won't need them past 1 month :) I have read where a couple of people have said you shouldn't take them past 3 months so I'm not exactly sure what I should be doing. Does anyone have any advice for me or any suggestions? I am really nervous about this whole thing and am just hoping and praying for the best outcome. Thanks! |

donnalt -- Welcome. I am fairly new here myself. I will begin clomid this week also, my first round, at the suggestion of my OB. He recommends day 4-8 or 5-9 though as 3-7 produces more follicles but weaker eggs. And the earlier you do it the worse it gets. In fact, he claims, that some women have tried to adjust their days and go on day 1, but no day 1 pregnancy has ever been successful. The pregnancy usually terminates. Also, to put your mind at ease about the drugs, I ordered mine from Mexico at the suggestion of my OB. My insurance doesn't cover fertility medication so I have to pay out of pocket. He suggested that I get them over the border and gave me a website to go to. Apparently pretty popular. As for the 3 months, my physician said the same thing. You shouldn't take it unmonitored past three months because it can cause a thining to your uterine lining and that needs to be monitored. And it definitely shouldn't be continued past 6 unless absolutely recommended by a Dr as the side effects and long term effects get worse at that point. Hope this info helps. Good luck and TONS of sticky baby dust to you! |

Hello ladies! I think it is time for me to give you an update on what is going on with me and maybe someone can help. My af was 6 days late this round and I am NEVER late. When it did start it was massively heavy, like a pad an hour heavy for 2 days and lots of clots. Then it continued lightly for 8 days. My af always lasts 4 days without fail. |
