Hey all,

I'm new to the forum and have been reading since the end of November after stumbling on it searching the web for some hope about the clomid. I just turned 27 on Dec. 3rd and me and my dh (I think that's for husband) have been trying to conceive since we've been together which is 6 years now. We have been going to doctor to doctor due to the fact that I have pcos and a bunch of other medical problems. I come from a very very very very very fertile family so you can feel my frustration. I have been taking clomid for a year and 1 month. My doctor wants to do six more rounds before i go to the specialist. I am just really tired to tell the truth. I have had 3 D&C's , 6 cysts removed from my ovaries, and I have had irregular periods lasting from a min. of 2 1/2 months to 4 months straight with no period for just as long. I'm regular now since I’ve been on the clomid. I started my cycle on the 22nd of November and am on cd13. I took my clomid on 4-8 (usually on days 5-9 with 100mg) with 150mg and I have to take progesterone pills from cd18 to 12 wks to 5 months of pregnancy or until AF shows and I take a prenatal vitamin everyday and I have to take an iron pill b/c I’m anemic everyday. I have to deal with family and friends always asking when I’ll have kids and sometimes I hear them saying that I missed my chance because I wanted to be married first but it's silly just silly and the fact that they want to say well I didn't have to go through all that to get pregnant. It just keeps throwing in my face the fact that it's my fault we can't have a baby the normal way. I hope that this works because I am truly down sometimes with the situation and my dh is getting tired of this routine that we have to be on. I have found some hope on this forum and I love to hear your comments. I didn’t know a lot of the information that is on the forum. I wish everyone very sticky baby dust. Sorry for rambling on and on but it's nice to vent if it was too much just let me know. Anyway thank you very much for reading (listening). I will keep you posted on if I o’d or not b/c I’m doing the OPKS. This is my time I have to believe that . The 26th of December will be my cd35 and 19th of December will be my cd28 (AF usually shows up here since I’ve been on the clomid) THANK YOU AGAIN AND BABY DUST AND STICKY DUST TO YOU ALL. I know that it's hard to see how to keep the faith with all that's going on but i know it will happen and i know it's okay to be down sometime and for it to be too much at times but it's worth the baby that will come into your life

weetsmom - December 5th, 2008 8:23 PM

Hey dee-dee,
Dont be down. Keep your head up and it will happen when it is supposed to happen. I'm 27 and started my first round of clomid last month and it didn't work. AF came yesterday - it's such a joy when she comes to visit -LOL!!. I have already found between last month and this month - This is hard. I thought this was going to be easy -its not. I was 3 days late this month and got my hopes up. Like I said I'm 27 my hd is 38 1/2. I have a daughter that is 9 and he has 3 boys. We would like to have a child togethere - but he says by the time he is 40. This doesn't give me much time. I have pcos. I just found out 6 months ago. We have been trying for about 8 months before my ob would let me take cd. I go back to the ob on monday and then the fun starts all over. But what ever it takes for us to have a little one.**** Baby dust to everyone. ********

Hey ladies I just wanted to say I am so sorry that I have been MIA but I am back. Welcome to the new girls and I am wishing you all the best of luck. Hey girls it isn't nothing new to report same ole thing just a different month. I am currently on cd 20 and I am either 4 or 5 dpo I only used one opk test and that was on cd 15 12/13 and I got a bfp so according to Fertility Friend I ovulated on cd 16 but I have decided not to renew my VIP membership and just go with the basic and see what happens. I am suppose to get AF on Dec 29 and before my VIP ran out I can take a hpt on Dec 29 but then it changed it to Dec 30 but it kept my AF start date the same Dec 29. I will keep you all updated. Take care and I can't wait to see some BFP. Krissy68

ccusack - December 28th, 2008 1:59 AM

Update and warning! It has been a couple weeks since my last post, but I have been a little too depressed to say anything yet, but I felt I need to now to warn some of you of what can happen on clomid. I ended up in the emergency room because I was having severe pain and heavy bleeding that lasted for 2 weeks. My biggest fear was an ectopic pregnancy, but now I wish that had been all it was. It turns out the clomid not only left me with a huge cyst on one ovary, but I now have massive uterine fibroid tumors that have distorted my uterus to the point that it is highly unlikely I will ever get pregnant now. This happened very suddenly, not after prolonged use of clomid. This was my 4th round of clomid and my highest dose was 100 mg this last round. The previous cycles were monitored and no fibroids were seen, so this was a complete surprise. So now I am obviously off the clomid and praying that the tumors will diminish with new treatment, but plans for a baby seem to be out the window for now, if not for good.

If you are on clomid, especially without a doctors strict supervision, please, please be careful. I don't want this to happen to anyone else. I am just devastated.

ttcb4tooold - January 5th, 2009 9:35 PM

Hello to all. I am 32 ttc. I have been diagnosed with PCOS. Taking 50 mg chlomid and 2000 mg of Metformin. Round two. I was wondering after reading on here what robotussin, baby asprin and Mucinex had to do with ttc. If it will help I will try it. My cycles are extremely irregular. I am taking Provera to jump start my monthly. I could go for a very long period 6 months to a year without a cycle, if I do not take it. I am desperate here. Please help.

Mrs. Cruz - January 28th, 2009 7:14 PM

Hi,

I'm 21 years old and married, I found out that I had PCOS about 6 months ago, it really broke my heart because i was hoping to start a family. I was going to the dr but now i don't have insurance because I started a new job. I tried clompihene (however it is spelled) I am guessing on 5-9 days as u all say. and nothing...I'm confused with all of this and if ne one can help me please do..i don't ever have a period ever so I know he made me take something for ten days to get my period, do ne of u know the name???? Why is it that some ppl did it on 3-7 days, which is better 3-7 or 5-9??? Thanks and I really appreciate ne help

jessi01 - January 29th, 2009 12:24 PM

Mrs. cruz,
the name of the medicine to get your period is called PROVIRA.
They said taking clomid days 3-7(it is in between) is better because it will make you ovulate sooner, and it is a better chance to have twins( so they say). My doctor put me on clomid days 3-7. I finished the last clomid pill on tuesday. i go in on sunday to see if i have any mature eggs and if i do i can do the trigger shot to induce ovulation and i will ovulate around 36 hrs later.
hope that is helpful!!!
Good luck

hoping4baby3 - January 29th, 2009 1:58 PM

Jessi, I am going in to see if my follicles are mature on Monday. Try to find out how big yours are so we can compare notes. My doctor however does not want to give me a trigger shot; he says if it’s big enough then I'll ovulate... We'll see... I can't wait!!! Lots of baby dusts to us all!!!

jessi01 - January 29th, 2009 2:56 PM

hoping4baby3 : i go in on sunday, i am so nervous, i hope i have some or at least one mature egg, fingers crossed. keep me posted ok.
good luck~!!!
