Heathermed, so sorry to hear your news. :( How exhausted I'm sure you must feel. I hope you find comfort in that you're not alone in this journey. I'm sure it's discouraging to know you have to see a fertility specialist, but at the same time... it's what they do best, so hopefully great things are to come.

Ginalynn, symptoms sound promising! I know what you mean by trying not to get too excited, but you did have a great feeling about this month. :) When can you test? Can't wait to hear the results! Double fingers crossed!!

Keri, sounds like you and Heather are experiencing the same thing. :( Try not to get too discouraged. Those doctors can do amazing things! And I'm sure great things are coming to you too!!

As for me, today is CD 17... still no positive OPK. I go in 5/12 (next Tuesday) for my CD 21 b/w. I'm expecting the results to show no O. *sigh*

To follow-up the message I just posted... I just did my daily OPT and I actually got a POSITIVE!! My first one! I used the cheap one first and looked at it and thought, no way, that can't be right. So, I used the digital and what do you know... I got a happy face! I'm not experiencing any of the other O symptoms, like increased CM, so we'll see. For now, I'm just happy about getting a positive on CD17. :)

ginalynn, keri, abbyjo thank you for your support, It sounds really good for you gina!!! I cant wait to hear your results, I am very discouraged right now, the dr increased my metformin to 1500mg and i am waiting to see if i even get a pos on the opk but like the dr said there were no follicles growing, keri youll have to let me know how the fertility dr goes my fear is the cost and lack of insurance coverage, i ony get one more roun of clomid next month and thats it, I guess i should be happy i have a son to my previous marriage even thome and my new husband want to have one together also, i dont have alot of patience and this truely just kills me when so many other people just have it happen just like that. Maybe its Gods way........

Well, after Friday afternoon's positive OPK, I got a surprise ruptured cyst Friday evening. I spoke with my Dr Friday night and she confirmed that's most likely what it was as I've had that happen before and the pain was all too familiar. So I go in tomorrow for an exam... :( So exhausting.

I'm interested to see how the fertility appts go - with both Keri and Heather. This next month will be my last round of Clomid as well, so if it doesn't work, I'll be right there with you girls.

Gina, how much longer until you can test?

Heathermed20 - May 11th, 2009 1:06 PM

well i havent had a pos opk yet and today is cd 16, I did last month on the 18th day so maybe wednesday i could be surprised, if not i have next month at 150 again and thats it, im eager to hear from keri on the fertility specialist on whats onvolved and how much the cost is, if it doesnt work next month im not sure what were gona do.

keric200 - May 11th, 2009 5:01 PM

Hey girls..
I know how you feel Heather! I'm so nervous about what he is going to tell us. And obviously expense is an issue! My only good news was that out insurance covers all three doctors that my OB suggested. But I won't know for sure of what all it does until we see him (obviously). I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything is ok and that he has something that will work for us. But I will definetly let you guys know how it goes!

ginalynn - May 11th, 2009 7:43 PM

wel....no such luck...i don't know if I tested to early but..big fat negative. I still have all the icky feelings but maybe its just side effects from the clomid!

ESMY - May 11th, 2009 11:59 PM

Hello girls, I am a newbie here. I came across this site while googleing "Clomid Success Rates and Stories". It makes me feel better to know that I am not the only one that has had a hard time trying to conceive. Reading everyones stories has helped me alot, it has given me alot of information. On May 28th it will be my 4 yr wedding anniversary. My hubby and I have tried to conceive for the past year, but haven't had any luck.
I have always struggled with AF. We finally decided to go see a fertility specialist. I know my OB could have had me take Clomid, however, she felt that my irregularity with AF was due to my weight. So she wanted me to lose weight before trying anything. I got tired of seeing so many women who are just as overweight as I am or more, and they would get pregnant. So that is why I went to see a reproductive endocronologist.
I started my 1st cycle when AF came on April 28th, I began taking 100mg of Clomid on CD 3 through CD 7. Then my doctor said to begin using the OPK's on CD 11. Today was CD 14 and still no positive OPK. I have a Dr appt tomorrow to have an US and see if I still haven't ovulated or if I missed the "O". At the end of CD 12, my husband and I went through like 5 OPK test sticks bcz twice we got 2 lines but colors were not matching. Then we only had 1 line. Then an error. Then 1 line again. It was crazy, and so hard to be sure of a positive read. So on CD 13 my hubby rushed to target to get the digital OPK. They are so much easier to read. We highly recommend them. Hopefully tomorrow morning the Dr will say I still have follicles there so I can still have a chance at ovulating. So we are still hanging in there just waiting.
Does anyone know anybody who used the clomid 100mg CD 3-7 and actually know on what CD they got a positive OPK???
Abby...how did your Dr appt go today?
Good luck to all of you!!!!

AbbyJo_123 - May 12th, 2009 9:34 AM

Hi and welcome ESMY! I completely understand your frustration with the OPKs. However, I think when you finally get a positive, you'll know. The test line will be much darker. At least, it was for me. I think when I was just hoping for a positive, I would look at the lines and wishfully imagine the test line was darker, so it would confuse me. But, when I actually did get a + there was no question. I got a + on 100 mg CD 3-7 on CD 17. So there's still time. :) But, obviously, the ruptured cyst kind of ended my excitement. I had a major project come up at work yesterday so I couldn't leave for my appt. grrrrrrr... My dr said that was fine and if I was feeling okay then there was no need to be concerned. (Not sure what to think about that.) I go in today for b/w so we'll see how those turn out.

Gina, sorry about your BFN. :( Fingers crossed that it was just too early.

Heathermed20 - May 12th, 2009 11:07 PM

hello gina what cd are you on??? im still hoping for you the signs are there, i didnt have those with the 150 clomid so im hoping for you,
abbyjo im sorry about the cyst im hoping you success still and maybe i will see the fertilty dr to if next month doesnt work
EMSY i got a pos on opk on my 18th cd and it was very evident so youll know when it is pos so good luck all

ESMY - May 13th, 2009 2:07 AM

Thanks Abby for the words of encouragement. That is the main reason I decided to join in the threads...for the support. Unfortunately...I had my Dr appt today on CD 15 for an US to check my follicles and my Dr said that the follicles are only 14mm?? so therefore not mature enough to go through with the HCG and the IUI :(
We were pretty bum'd out. Dr gave me new prescription for Provera for next 10 days and then changed my Clomid prescription to 150mg. So I'm off towards my second cycle. We'll see how that goes.
Does anyone know if there is a difference between the actual Clomid and the generic brand Clomophene Citrate? Bcz I just found out I was given the Clomophene Citrate.
Abby sorry to hear u missed your appt, hopefully your B/W will come out good.

ESMY - May 13th, 2009 2:13 AM

Thanks Heathermed...I really appreciate the info, but as u can see by my previous note...my Dr decided to give me Provera for next 10 days to bring on AF :(
I was hoping you would be able to explain to me what metformin 1500mg is? What does it do? Thanks for the support and good luck to u as well!

AbbyJo_123 - May 13th, 2009 10:34 AM

ESMY - I don't think there is any difference between the name-brand Clomid and the generic. I've been taking the generic (Clomiphene Citrate) because the med isn't covered by my insurance and it's MUCH less expensive than the name brand. ...for what it's worth...

Heathermed20 - May 14th, 2009 7:10 PM

ESMY I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome, I wasnt having my af either, basically your horomes are out of wack and pcos goes hand in hand with insulin resistance which plays a big role in regulating your hormones and in turn you never ovulate cuz the follicles never get big enough, Metformin is a diabetic drug that treats insulin resistance, my last bw still showed my levels low even after 150mg of clomid and 1500mg of metformin, I also used the clomiphine much cheaper...... i had to use provera to get my af but after a couple rounds of clomid i had it on my own. Ive heard stress plays a role and usually obesity but i am not that big at all so i dont understand why this happened ever since i stopped the bcp a year ago, i never had a problem 5yrs ago when i had my son to a previous relationship.

Hi Ladies,

I went to my gynae for U/S and for the first time I saw my baby, so tiny about 12.5mm Doc given me 1 week MC to rest at home due to am experienced some brownish spotting for past few days. I was given a hormone jab to support the pregnancy. Was pretty worried but I leave everything to God to give me 9 months healthy pregnancy.

Ladies, miracle do happen! I cant believe am pregnant now because i was tempted to be a mother and it was very frustrating when u saw the -ve result on the test kid. But when u are pregnant, more things to worried, to make sure the baby is growing healthly. Well, let us draw strength from each other here at this forum and things will goes well.

Have a pleasant day ahead.

Love
Angie
