heather, that sounds wonderful! that really gives me hope. i had my b/w done last week & my progesterone level was a 9, so no o. my ob said they would up my dosage one more month to 200 mg & if no o next month, they will send me to an RE!! i'm really hoping it works on the 200, but if not, hopefully my news at the RE will be similar to yours. keep us all posted on your levels and what medicine they put you on. i'm very curious to see that bc i don't think clomid is working for me. good luck to all & baby dust!!

Well, I just got my results back from last week's b/w. My HCG level on (or around) 11 dpo was 44 and 13 dpo it was 84. The nurse said that was good - I, of course, would've liked to see a little bit higher on the 2nd test, but, I'll take it. I go in next week to check my HCG level again and then my first u/s appt is June 8th. I'm still a bit nervous but hopefully next week's results will help me calm down a bit.

prayin - Sorry to hear No O this round. :( Hopefully, 200 will bring better luck. On another note, I have read a lot of forums with women talking about Clomid not working and then switching to Femara, which would work on the first round. So even if the 200 mg doesn't work, I'm sure good things are still to come!

abby- thanks for the encouragement! i'm so happy for you, it looks like things are going to work out perfectly. just try not to get too nervous!!

i go to visit w/ my ob on thursday, so i'm going to ask her about the femara & many other questions. if anyone is curious about anything, let me know so i can ask it when i go. lots of baby dust to all!

Hello ladies, well i called today to fertility dr and he said my progesterone was up around 9 now he told me that last month and this month at that level that i did ovulate so im not sure what to think the obgyn said it had to be around 15 but the fertility dr said at 9 i did. I have to wait to see if i get my af and call or if i dont get it i have to take a test today is cd 30 for me. He also said he may not give up on the clomid now bc of both 100 and 150mg gave me elevated levels, i guess im gonna go with the fertility guy says hes the expert at this, if i get my af i have to get bw and a hysterosalpingogram its a xray to make sure theres no blockages in the fallopian tubes. Ill keep you guys posted. Keric200 did your fertility dr say what the progesterone levels should be at???? Baby sprinkles and good luck.......

heather- my progesterone was 9 as well this month & my ob said i didn't o, that it needed to be 15. i hope your re is correct bc that would mean i o'd as well. if u get a chance next time u speak with your re, could you ask what level is considered an o. good luck!

heather - no my dr didn't say the the progesterone levels should be at...only that he knew I hadn't o'd when he did the exam that's why he gave me the hcg trigger shot to induce ovulation...so we shall see? I can't believe your ob prescribed the clomid without doing that hysterosalpinogram first...my ob wouldn't even put me on it until I had that done and my husband was tested as well...she said there would be no point in the clomid if I had blockage or it was him...wierd how different dr's do different things.
I go back next week to see my re again...so we shall see what happens...I hope everything turn out ok.

prayin, I will ask him again he seemed confident about it. I dont know what to think, you would think the fertility guy would know my ob gyn told me the same thing as you. I do know the cycle before it was only 1 then it went up to 9.7 Maybe everyone is diferent but he seemed sure of it. I want to take a preg test so i have a idea in on cd 30 now and if im not preg then i can start another cycle on his method. Hes affiliated with a very reputable hospital which is an hour and half away from me but fortunately has an office 10 min away from me so i hope hes right.........

keric, Im wondering if he didnt do the xray bc i alreay have a son 4yo that he delivered. But the re said he wants a bigger picture of whats going on and do hormone levels on day 3 of my cycle. He did check my husband and he was ok as well. See what you dr says about the progesterone levels. The re wants me to wait 10 more days to see if i get my af that would be cd 40 cuz he said i o but doestn know when i did. I dont think i can wait that long ha ha......... Good luck everyone.

heather- i hope your re is correct! i would trust him more than the ob as well bc that's his specialty. i was thinking that it may be a case by case basis. if you went up from 1 to 9.7, i would think you o'd too bc you increased so drastically. good luck, maybe this will be both of our months. I just wanted to chime in on the progesterone levels... When I wasn't O-ing, my progesterone levels were less than 1. When I did O, for the first time, it was 12.8 and we conceived. So, whatever that stuff is about a level of 15 - I don't really understand.

So, Heather and prayin... I'm willing to bet that you did ovulate. Congrats!

AbbyJo, Thank you that makes me feel better also. the fertilty dr said i did last month and this month. My original level was 0.6 and then i took 50mg it came up to 1 then on the 100mg it was 9.7 so im hopin i did and prayin did to, he seemed pretty convinced and i guess this is his expertise... ive been crampy today so im sure im probably getting my af but we can hope, Im glad i did o cuz he thinks that is what are problem is!!! thank you

thanks for the info abby jo. i had a level of 14 my first month on clomid and did not conceive, since then my levels have been 7, 6, & 9. Because my levels were initially so high, do you think i could have o'ed w/ a level of 9? the progesterone level thing is so confusing, it seems to be so different from person to person.

Well, this is what I've read:

A level over 5 probably indicates some form of ovulation, but most doctors want to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle, and a level over 15 on a medicated cycle.

I guess this is where the level of 15 came from. Sounds like a 9 would still be an ovulation, but perhaps not a strong ovulation. The info came from this website:

wow! that makes sense. they want it to be above 15 since it is medically induced, but it seems to me you are right that 9 would just be a weak o! i'm excited!! that really gives me hope that i could get a BFP this cycle.

Yeah, I think you definitely O'd! My prog level was not over 15 and I still got a BFP, so think happy baby thoughts! :) And even if you don't get a BFP this cycle, at least you know that Clomid did its job and hopefully next round will be even stronger. Fingers crossed! And sticky baby dust!!
