hello ladies, keric my af was friday and i go monday to the RE he wants to do lots of bw and a us to make sure i dont have cysts then he said he is gonna try clomid one more round but for longer days i think 7 days at 100mg. after that i think hes moving on to a new drug.
Prayin, My obgyn diagnosed me with pcos but the RE isnt totally convinced i do, i have been on metformin since jan and this will be my 4th round of clomid, i worked up to 1500mg of metformin it can cause diarrhea ive found if u take it at the end of your meal u dont get it but if i take it before or wo eating it happens, the RE wants more bw this month and longer days on clomid to see if it will make me o. he said he wants to get a big picture of whats going on. I know for some reason ive had cramping for several days now since like tuesday more than i have before. With pcos i havent had my af regularly and that is frustrating when your trying all these meds the dr wants you to take to o. prayin i hope we can get thru this and have a BFP soon!!!!!

prayin4ababy - June 1st, 2009 10:30 AM

hello all! i've had an exciting weekend. yesterday i took 2 pregnancy tests bc i was 3 days late and guess what i got 2 BFP!! i'm very excited, but also nervous bc of my problems. i called the doctor but they don't want to see me until the 10th which would be 7 weeks to do a confirmation ultrasound. i really wanted to go in this week to do blood work to verify. i just don't want to get excited and be let down.

SoReady - June 1st, 2009 10:46 AM

prayin - Congrats! Your dr may not want you to come in because prior to 7 weeks they wont be able to see the heartbeat on the u/s. I know that the 10 seems like a long way off but it will be worth it when you get to see the heartbeat for yourself. Until then take it easy! Congrats!

AbbyJo_123 - June 1st, 2009 2:48 PM

prayin - CONGRATULATIONS!!! How exciting!! My first u/s is on the 8th and I'll be 7 weeks also, so it sounds like we're pretty close. I'm a little bit surprised your Dr. didn't want to do any b/w just to check your beta levels to make sure they're rising correctly. Friday I start my 2nd round of b/w to check progesterone levels and HCG. It wouldn't hurt to call your Dr and ask for the b/w and express your concern to make sure everything is okay. For the first couple of weeks after I got my BFP, I found something to call my Dr. about almost everyday - so I'm sure they're used to it.

Congrats again!

Hello all! I am new to this site, so I just thought I would share my story. My husband and I have been TTC for about 2 1/2 years. We finally went to a fertility clinic about a month ago and the DR told me I was not ovulating. So I did the first round of Clomid on CD 3-7, 50 mg. I had blood work to check progesterone levels last week and found out today I did not ovulate. So I am starting Prometrium to induce a period, then will be taking 100mg of Clomid the next cycle. Has anyone ever experienced something similar?? I am just becoming more and more frustrated the longer we try...

AbbyJo_123 - June 1st, 2009 4:35 PM

Hi amking! And welcome!

I think your story is pretty similar to the other ladies on here, especially mine. I was not ovulating and having to take Prometrium to induce a period until I finally started Clomid 50mg. I didn't O on 50mg, so I took Prometrium again, and started Clomid 100mg CD 3-7 and bam! I O'd and BFP. So although it's difficult, try to stay positive... great things are to come!

Amking, hello glad you came on, i have had the excact experience as you and have been told i have PCOS. Ive had clomid up to 150mg so far and unsuccessful i now have gone to fertility dr.
I went yesterday to RE and he did lots of bw and an us no cysts thank goodness, and he is doing the hystersalpingogram this wed, then next fri i have to go in and do a post coitol test and another us, he put me on 100mg clomid but for 7 days this would actually be days 4-10, i am hoping this is my month ive rea people who have the hystersalpingogram tend to get preg more after it possibly opening a partially clogged fallopian tube, I hope i o and get a bfP cuz if not he said hes scrapping clomid and tryin something else, he beleives i just have a o problem. Good luck to all and congrats abby and prayin you guys ave been so supportive!!!!!

keric200 - June 2nd, 2009 9:00 AM

Hello All!

Prayin...CONGRATS!!! How exciting, what a way to start your week! :)
Amking...also welcome...we all are in similar situations and I can't tell you how much these ladies have helped me! It's wonderful being able to talk to people who can relate!
Heather...keep us posted on what your RE tell you.

As for me I also went to my RE yesterday and went over all of the blood work that he had done the previous visit...all came back normal so his recommendation is to do the IUI. He is putting me back on a very low dosage (25mg) for days 5-9. I go in on the 10th for an us to see if I have any mature follicles, if so I have to do the hcg shot again that day and then my husband and I have to go back on the 12th for the IUI...so we shall see! I am really hoping as well that this is our month as these treatments are not cheap...although I know it's well worth the money! Baby dust to all!!!

Heathermed20 - June 2nd, 2009 10:06 AM

keric, Good luck just wondering how expensive does the iui get?? My re didnt say that yet but it may be an option we have to choose from, why are they doing the iui with you?? Was it bc of your cm or his sperm??? I have to have a test next week that checks the sperm in my cm to see if its a good environment or not. Hes trying to be aggressive this month to get a big picture of whats going on with me. So hes doing all kinds of tests, i know its getting very costly.

keric200 - June 2nd, 2009 10:57 AM

Well my RE said it's like $600/treatment not to mention the cost of the fertility drugs as well...but it's much cheaper than invitro that's for sure! And he also said he would only do it three times. Because if it hasn't worked after three times there is something else wrong. He is doing the IUI because every other test they have run on both of us has come back normal. So he said he wants to try this next?

Heathermed20 - June 2nd, 2009 4:03 PM

keric, Ok i hope it works for you how long have you been trying??? We have been for alittle over a year and so far all our tests have been normal except my hormones being low and not ovulating but he thinks the clomid did ake me o an nothing for us either. I may be in your shoes right behind you..Good luck!!!

Heathermed20 - June 3rd, 2009 2:18 PM

Hello ladies, well i had my hystersalpingogram today and it was normal thank goodness, i am on clomid 100mg days 4-10 this time and have to go back next friday for a cm check and an us, he did say if my cm was bad for my husbands sperm i would probably have to do an iui, he said he fee was $375 to do it, amazing how everywhere is different. Well good luck girls....

AbbyJo_123 - June 3rd, 2009 4:50 PM

Hey girls...

Just wanted to give you a not-so-good update. I was supposed to go in for my first u/s next Monday but noticed some spotting last night so my Dr. saw me this morning. She did a transvaginal ultrasound and was unable to locate a sac so I did some bloodwork and she had me keep my appt for Monday to recheck - she thought maybe I wasn't as far along as we suspected. Unfortunately, about an hour after I got home, I started bleeding pretty heavily... all too familiar. The thought of a 2nd miscarriage is devastating so I'm not too sure I've accepted it just yet, but the cramping this afternoon has made it hard to pretend it's not happening. So, I spoke with my Dr. again and I'll go in for my Rhogam shot tomorrow (I have RH negative sensitivity because of my A- blood type) then we'll monitor my HCG levels until they go back down to zero and I'll have to make a decision whether to stay with my OB and try Clomid again or go to an RE. Either way, I'm ready for this to pass and start all over again. Hopefully, we can find an answer to my multiple miscarriages. I am so thankful to have an amazingly supportive husband to help me through these times. I can't imagine having it any other way.

We know that when it's time, it'll happen and I can only imagine how amazing it will finally be. I'm not sure how religious you guys are, but as I sat in the Dr's office knowing in my heart the pregnancy wasn't viable but still praying for a miracle, the only thing I could think of in my mind was good 'ol Jeremiah 29:11... 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'

So, that's my news for the day. Everything is definitely going to be okay. We're going to move forward and pray for fast healing. We know there's a plan bigger than ours.

On another note... Heather, I'm so glad your hysters...something or other (there has to be an abbreviation for that) :) went well. Based off of what I've read on other forums, it seems like REs do a wonderful job of monitoring so I really hope both you and Keri have great months! Lots of luck!

That's all for now...

-Abby

Heathermed20 - June 3rd, 2009 7:52 PM

Abbyjo, I am so sorry for you and your husband, I will pray for you. I beleive how you believe to I know God will provide to us not sure when but we can only hope and pray and i will for you. I recommend a RE they are the experts and trust me he made me feel better i know you will too, May God bless you......

ESMY - June 4th, 2009 7:01 AM

Hello ladies. I finally got through reading all the posts since my last post on May 13th...wow...so many things have happened since then...

AbbyJo...I am very sorry to hear what you and your hubby went through, I can only imagine how you feel. I will pray for the both of you.

Heathermed...I am glad that your hystersalpingogram went well and that you have no blockage. I wonder why my RE hasnt checked me for any blockage? I think its great that your RE only charges $375 per IUI, mine charges $600, I wonder if its bcz im in California?

Keric...It looks as though we have the same game plan, just different dosage. Even the IUI price is the same. Did your RE say why he was putting you on the low dosage to begin with?

Prayin...congratulations on your baby news! I will pray that everything goes well with your u/s.

Amking...Welcome! The good news is that you are not alone, and that we are here to support eachother. As you can see, we all have similar stories. So feel-free to ask any questions and to share any info you get from your Dr.

As for me...Well AF finally came to visit on May 29th, so I began taking 150mg clomid CD 3-7. Today is CD 7 and I will be taking my last set of pills today. Then again back to waiting and hoping for the big O! My RE said that incase that I dont O by CD 14, then once again on CD 15 I will have an u/s to check and see if I have any mature follicles. If I do, then I will get a HCG trigger shot, and then an IUI would follow. So that is the plan for this cycle. My hubby and I are very optimistic and hope that everything goes well. Good Luck to everyone...and lots of Baby Dust too!!!

AbbyJo_123 - June 4th, 2009 10:44 AM

Esmy - Welcome back!

Thanks ladies for your support. It's definitely hard to swallow, but I'm so ready to figure out what's going on, get it fixed, and have a baby! I made an appt with an RE for June 15th. I'm really excited to hear what she has to say and make an action plan. My husband is more worried about the .... in a cup. I just laugh at him and tell him he'll have to look around when we go in to the office so he knows he's not the only one who may have to do that. I'm sure that's a normal thing for a man to feel.

Happy Thursday!
