ESMY, Soready is right i have heard they have given it as high as 250mg but i bet your dr would move onto something else before that because of the cysts and hyperovulation, i am on my 4th round i took 50mg and no o then i took 100mg and they thought i did then i did 150mg and they said it was questionalble if i did again, now i have seen the RE and he has me taking 100mg for 7 days instead of 5 and if its not successful this time he is scrapping clomid and trying something else, my RE isnt real impressed with clomid from what i gather from him. i think if it doesnt work the first couple rounds its time to try something else. So for me this is my 4th and probably last round of clomid i have to go back next friday and have a cm test and us. ill keep you posted. |

Heather, I'm from Cleveland so not to far from you at all! My dr is with University Hospitals...I will keep you posted for sure! My husband isn't to happy about his part either but also said he knows it's worth it. But we shall see...I have to go in on the 10th to see if I even have any mature follicles and then go from there. |

Hi ladies! I spoke with my doctor (OBGYN) this morning and she gave me my test results from Wednesday. Turns out my HCG level went all the way down to 13. Yikes... Apparently, it was so early that this is more like a late period than it is a miscarriage - which makes sense because the bleeding is significantly lighter than my first miscarriage and I definitely don't have nearly as much cramping. So she said she wanted me to do a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to see if there is anything wrong with my uterus that may be preventing implantation. This is exactly what happened with my first pregnancy - no sac could be located. Anyway, the HSG is scheduled for next Friday. I also decided to postpone my appt with the RE because my OBGYN is going to do a bunch of bloodwork in about 4 weeks to check all sorts of stuff. And if I do the tests through my OB, my insurance will cover it. Anyway, I'm really excited about the HSG. ...just the next step to figuring out what's going on and moving forward. |

Abbyjo, I am so excited for you im glad you went to the dr, the HSG doesnt take long youll be glad you had it done you can see your results right then, youll have some cramping from it. Maybe the bloodwork will give you some answers to. I know the RE checked my insurance coverage and they usually cover testings but not any of the actual treatments. So if you decide to go have them check for you. I go back to the RE next friday to get an us and cm check, i will be finished with clomid tomorrow night i took it 7 days and ive had cramping most of those days i hope that means its working. Ill think of you friday and wish you good luck... |

Thanks, Heather! I read a little bit about the HSG procedure and it sounds like it could be a bit painful and uncomfortable. So it's not that bad? I'm a little nervous about it. For your cm check, what are they looking for? I've heard of people doing that also, but I wasn't sure what they're checking for. And if your cm isn't up to par, what do they do? Have you, or anyone else, tried preseed? |

Abbyjo, Yes its tolerable, they use the same thing like when you get a pap test i was told to take some advil an hour before the test, it feels more like cramping when and after its done, dont be nervous youll do fine, as for the cm check, its a post coital test we have to bd on thur and then they check my cm friday to see if the sperm is good or bad from my cm he termed it "happy sperm" lol i guess to make sure they can swim thru my cm or not, he said if was bad then probably have to do the IUI so they bypass the cervix and cm, ive never tried preseed i did take vitex before i saw my obgyn to see if it would help regulate my hormones tho. I did use robitussin in the past and that was the month i got pregnant with my now 4 yo son, it is supposed to thin the cm and make it easier for sperm to go thru, i think im gonna start taking it on my own starting tomorrow i cant see where it would hurt and ike i said it seemed to do the trick before for me.. Good luck when your test?? I go back to RE this friday for the cm and an us. |

Yeah, my Dr. told me to do take some advil/ibuprofren an hour before and she also prescribed me some antibiotics. I ordered some preseed so we'll see how that works out. |

what is preseed supposed to do and is it expensive?? I dont suppose my RE recommends adding extra stuff in on him without him knowing tho, lol. Im hoping for you good results when are you getting your bloodwork? I should get my results from mine friday ill let you know whath i find out. |

Heather...I'm doing ok..a bit nervous I go in for my us tomorrow to see if I have any mature follicles and then go from there. If I do then we will do the hcg shot again and then I go in on Friday for the IUI. So it's a bit nerve racking to say the least. What is the next step for you if your bloodwork comes back ok? I have been told that preseed is supposed help the little swimmers get to where they need to go if your cm isn't helping or proventing them to? Not sure if that is true or not. I also was told that it's not very expensive. Hope everyone is doing well! |

Preseed is a lubricant that's sperm friendly and mimics cm. I think it's used like a suppository where you "inject" it and it coats your cervix so I guess it gives some extra boost for the mobility of the little swimmers. I ordered the the tube for external use and the injection thing for more internal use. It only comes with 6 uses for your "fertile window." I think it was $16.99 or something like that. You can look on preseed dot com if you'd like to read more about it. I've read lots of good things on other forums from women who got pregnant using it. Who knows... I would definitely run it by your RE if you're interested in using it. |

Heather - Abby is right it is a sperm friendly lubricant. But it can either be injected or used like any other lubricant. I bought a large tube of it on ebay for $8. I havent used it yet but I have heard many women say that they liked it and would use it even if they were not ttc. Good Luck with your b/w. |
