Good Morning everyone..I just needed a little advice. I recently went for a work up, HSG, Blood work etc. and all came back fine. I am hypothyroid and have irregular menstrual cycles. I am on Clomid 50 MG for five days and I go back friday for another sonogram... I am really nervous, has anyone ever conceived with irregular periods and hypothyroidsim? Thanks guys!

i am so irregular and i also have hypothyroid,
i did not concieve on clomid, it did nothing for me, i had to do the Gonal F shots, those shots make ur follilces grow like a million mph LOL, i did 5 days on them , had a mature follicle of 19.5 , did the trigger shot on a friday , had a positive opk on saturday, ovulated sunday, found out i was prego 2 weeks later, now i am 18 weeks prego, i find out in 2 weeks what we r having. i did everthing in 1 cycle, it took me less then a month to get prego.
but that does not mean that clomis wont work for u, it juss did not work on me, but those shots i did r the wonder drugs for me :).

Thanks for the info. How irregular are you and what doseage are you taking for your hypothyroid? Were there any other factors that would prevent you from conceiving? How many cylces of Clomid did you do before you started the shots? I am so happy for you congrats!! I hope it does work for me...I'm very anxious!! Thank you for the prayers!

OMG JAX, I AM SO IRREGULAR, B4 I GOT PREGO, I HAD TO TAKE PROVERA TO GET MY PERIODS, I DID THAT FOR LIKE 3 MONTHS. SO I AM REALLY IRREGULAR, I HAVE MY MOMENTS THAT I GET IT NORAML EVERY MONTH, THEN IT JUST STOPS. ITS WIERD LOL. I DID DAYS 3-7 CLOMID 50MCG, IT DID NOT WORK, THEN I DID DAYS 3-7 AGAIN THIS TIME 100MCG, NOTHNG STILL, THEN FINALLY I DID 5 DAYS OF SHOTS, IT GREW MY FOLLICLE IN THAT WEEK OF THE SHOTS. MY DR WAS REALLY AGGRESSIVE ON MY TREATMENT, I DID EVERYTHING IN 1 CYCLE, I AM PRETTY HEALTHY, MY PROBLEM WAS THAT I WAS NOT OVULATING, PLUS THEY SAID THAT BCUZ MY MY AGE IT WAS EASIER I AM 21, AND I AM HEALHTY OVERALL, I GOT PREGO NATURALLY,.
I WAS TAKING 112 MCG FOR MY THYROID, BUT MY DR UPPED MY DOSE TO 150 MCG, CUZ UR THYROID TENDS TO GO UP WHEN U BECOME PREGO, SO HE SAID THAT IMMA BE ON 150 THROUGH OUT MY PREGNANCY, THEN GO BACK TO 112 AFTER I DELIVER.

Jax - I am on med's to make me hyperthyroid and my doc's have told me that it can be very difficult to get prego if your thyroid levels are off. Mine have to be this way but if I were you I would ask your OB about rx'ing you synthroid. You probably only need a little. Your irregular cycle is most likely due to being hypothyroid. I am sure that it is possible to still get prego but I would ask for some synthroid. Good Luck!

Thanks guys for the help. I actually am on a synthroid/ levothyroxine 50mcg. My periods come mostly but each month it varies between 35days and 52 days but it does come. Im on my last pill tomorrow of Clomid and then i test for Ovulation.

Abby, Understand your thinking you will know friday when u get the HSG the results, maybe you can ask your obgyn if it would be better if you went to RE. I am kinda impatient and my obgyn did suggest i go to RE but i didnt want to wait any longer im glad i went, i did 3 rounds of clomid before i went tho. I heard statistics have been higher for pregnancy after a HSG so im hoping its just what we need this month for both us!!!!! (I think it opens any partially clogged tubes)never know, lol. I do know on friday if i dont have any follicles and i dont o he is done using clomid this was my 4th round. Maybe he will move onto what Jessi did for me.
Soready when do u start the clomid??

Heather - I'm taking the test on Friday but I'm not sure I'll get the results, unless the radiologist tells me what he sees. Otherwise, I'll probably have to wait until Monday to speak with my OB about it - since I figure they have to send the results to her and then she has to call me. I'll speak with her a little bit more about going to the RE. I just really want to know what my follies are doing and then get the HCG shot if possible. I can't wait to hear your results!!

Abby, when i had my HSG my RE met me at the rediology site and he was the one who actually did the test the radiologist was there and looked at the films to confirm what the RE saw, I dont know how yours is set up but there were like 4 other girls there doing the same thing and the RE told me right then the results i actually got to watch the dye go in on the screen it was really neat. I know since ive been goin to the RE i have had 3 diff us to see if i had follicles or cysts and ive been goin i think 3-4 weeks maybe. Good luck i hope thats how your friday goes ill let you know what he says.

Hi Ladies...well everything thing went well today. The nurse said I have two good mature follicles so she scheduled us for the IUI on Friday! She did say that there was one that looked "old" so she thinks it might be from last month but she took blood to test my progesterone levels just to make sure I haven't ovulated yet this month. As long as I haven't we are set for Friday! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! I will let you know as soon as I find out if we will go for sure on Friday!

Abby- when I had my HSG my OB prescribed it but the dr that did it also told me right away the results. I think it would be cruel to make us wait to find out! So I would think they would tell you what they see when it's done! Let us know how things go!

Keric, thats great!! How is your husband handling it for the big day let us know how that works i know my husband would like to know what to expect if we go that route. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Thanks! He was nervous until the nurse told him he could do it at home and we could just bring it in with us. We only live about 15 mins away from the office so she said it would be fine for him to do it at home. So he was happy about that. They just sent us home with what he would need...I just hope that it works!

Jax - I am glad that you are on synthroid. Does it seem to be helping your htpothyroid? How long have you been on it? I have been on synthyroid since March 2008 and I am taking 175mcg. My doc's are keeping me very hyperthyroid.

I was placed on it May 08 and 25mcg and when I started seeing my RE the thyroid levels came back all out of sorts so my dr. raised it to 50 mcgs. Did your Dr. say why he/she is keeping you hyperthyroid?

Also soready are you on Clomid?
