Jax - In March 08 I was dignosed with thyroid cancer. They did 2 surgeries to remove all of it, followed by radiation. So for the next 3 years they want we very hyperthyroid to help reduce the risk of forming more cancer cells. Last Jan. all my test came back very good and they deemed me cancer free. But they are still being very causious.

I will finally be starting my first round of clomid at the end of this month.

Soready, wow im so glad to hear that you beat it! That's great! Tomorrow is my last day of Clomid for my first cycle..I'm really nervous and it kind of consumes my thoughts but I'd really like as I'm sure we all would, it to happen the first time. So I'm really anxious.

Jax - I feel the same way. I have been wanting to start ttc our 2nd child for over a year now so it seems like this journey is taking so long. I reality, my ttc journey hasnt even started. I think that everyone goings into this hoping that it will happen on the first round. My OB is really helping me out by giving me an us at cd14 to see how clomid affected my follicles and then we can determine if there are any mature enough to O. Then if I have some mature follicles then she will be giving me an hcg shot, which will make me O within 24-36 hours. I am so excited! I know this sounds crazy but I have already calculated my due date. lol If my next cycle starts on the 27th like I think it will, and if I get prego, then my baby(ies) due date would be April 3rd. I have been consumed with having another baby for so long, that it is all I can think about. As the time draws nearer, it gets ever harder to concentrate on other things. I think that if I do not get prego on the first round, then at least I will have gotten some of this baby fever out of my system. Because at least I will actually ttc instead of just waiting.

Heather - I will start clomid on cd3 of my next cycle which should start around the 27th.

Hi Ladies!!! How is everyone? I have been using the opk's to check if im gonna O. Monday which was my CD 11, I didnt get a smiley face, then I tried on CD 12 and still no smiley face. Then came Wednesday, CD 13, and I finally got a smiley face :) So now I dont know what happens next. I called my RE office after hours answering service and they took a message and said I would be called back at 8am. So it is 4 a.m. and I just cant sleep. When I went to my last visit for u/s to make sure that I didnt have any cysts before taking my Clomid of 150 mg this month, the RE explained that if I had a + opk between CD 11 and CD 14, then I would come in the next morning for my IUI. But now I am so confused bcz I also remember when I went last cycle on CD 15, that visit was to check on whether I had any mature follicles so I could get and HCG shot and then the IUI after that. Since I didn't have and mature follicles, I was sent home with prescription for Provera, which brought me to my 2nd cycle on Clomid. My confusion now is so am I getting an IUI in the morning? Or am I getting an HCG shot? Well either way, just incase, my hubby still did his thing in the cup tonight, but the yolk buffer thing was weird, hope it was done right. So here is another dilema, this cycle went so fast for us, my hubby and I BD on Sunday night, then all of a sudden I am checking opk on tuesday and I tell my hubby that more than likely since I really felt I wasnt going to get a + opk, I told him he had to release on tuesday. I have a u/s on Friday to check follicles, and then hopefully HCG shot, so I told him we didnt want to have any "old fellas swimming around". So my hubby released, and now here it is wednesday I get a + opk, and now he barely had 24 hrs to "recharge". I have heard that the best time for sperm is between days 2-5, but 5 already pushing it towards "old". So if we do have an IUI in the morning, Im wondering if his sample will be too premature? Not to mention he will also have to give a sample in the morning in the office. So that is what has been going on with me! I am so excited and very nervouse.

Heather...how are you doing? I hope that your u/s goes well on friday! Hoping you find some very mature follicles.

Keric...I hope your b/w comes back ok and you do go through with the IUI on friday. It seems like our cycles are pretty much going in the same direction around the same time!

AbbyJo...I really hope that your HSG goes well and that you get your results asap. I think seeing an RE will be good for you and your hubby.

Jessi I have had 4 rounds of clomid and tomorrow i get an us to see if i have any follies, my RE told me of the clomid doesnt work then most shots wont work unless i miss understood him have u heard that? He did say if clomid didnt work this time hes on to something else im hoping he does for me like what you had done. It seems like it worked great for you.
Keric, what a relief for your hubby, I hope we can do the same thing if i have to go that route because we only live 10 min away from our RE office, hes a shy guy and im not sure how successfull we will be if he has to do it there, lol. Im so excited for you tomorrow, Everyones got something going on tomorrow i cant wait to hear everyones news i hope all good!!! I get a cm check also and it should tell me if i do or dont have to do the IUI. Good luck!!!!
ESMY, wow you do have alot of confusing things going on, hopefully you will get your answers tomorrow like the rest of us, Im really hoping i have mature follies because so far i havent had any yet and weve been trying over a year now without o.
Soready, I am so excited for you!!! if my memory serves me right didnt you say your husband was in the military thats why you had to wait til he was back to start ttc?? I so i am glad you finally get to start.

Heather - You are correct, my dh is military and he is currently deployed. I am counting down the days until I can see him again. This month has been so slow. I dont know if it is so slow because I miss my dh so much or if it is because I am super excited to start ttc. Good Luck on you u/s. I hope that you have a couple of mature follicles.

I know that I am certainly eagar to try it.

Hey all thanks for the welcome!! I went this morning to my RE to get a US to see how large my eggs were getting but they are still small. I finished my last pill of clomid yesterday on 50mg. He said he wouldnt expect them to work to fast considering it's only 50mg and I just finished yesterday but they are a little bigger than they were friday. I am going back Tuesday to see how much more they have grown. How was everyone else's visit?

well i went to the dr on wed. i had my first us & i am definitely pregnant!! i am 6 wks and due feb. 2010. it was my 4th round of clomid at 150mg and it worked!! we were able to see a tiny heartbeat. it's been so hard for me to believe it! i just want everyone to have hope that it will happen when the time is right. my doctor said there was no way i o'd this month & i wouldn't be able to conceive, but she was completely wrong.

the only thing that was different this month from any other month is that i really didn't worry about it! my husband was out of town a few of days, so i just figured that it wouldn't work this cycle & didn't think much about it. everyone has told me that stress plays a major role in it.

i really hope you all get good news this cycle! it can happen! good luck to all and lots of baby dust :)

Hello everyone!! Prayin i am so happy for you!!! I have great news!! I had my us today and i have 1 big follie he said 22cm!!! He also did a cm check and said it was ok not to great but wasnt thinking about an IUI yet there were some swimmers swimming around so that was good, he beleives i am gonna o in the next day or so, he sold me an opk from the office says its more accurate, he also sent home the hcg shot with me and as soon as i get a pos opk i can give myself the shot, I am happy that i found what worked for a good follie i took 100mg for 7 days instead of 5 and its def there, he said its in the r ovary and nothing in the l ovary, so i am soo excited i hope everyone else has as great as news as me!!!!!! Baby sprinkles to all!!!:)
