jax thanks for the info, i should of asked your right, i go back next monday for a progesterone level, ive heard you should cut back on caffeine but i dont think you have to cut it out cold turkey i would cut it in half that way you arent stressing more by not having any so your body is at ease. Good luck friday hope for a big follie!!!!!!!!

crazymonkey - June 17th, 2009 1:19 PM

Hi there heather... Yup this is my first time ever on clomid and my gynea put me on 100mg day 3 - 7. then i go to him on day 12 for a scan to see what's happening with the follies. we have been trying since we got married in dec. but had blood tests that revealed that i dont ovulate, which is why we followed this route. I am very exited, but staying quite level about this. Chat soon, and tell me how is things going with you. xx

Jax - I'm not exactly sure what it does but my OB told me that it wouldnt hurt to reduce my caffine. I decided to cut caffine out of my diet as of June 1st, and I have to say that it hasnt been bad at all. I have been tricking myself. The 3 caffine products that I normally consume is iced tea, hot tea, and coke. So I bought all of it in caffine free and I just try to forget that it doesnt have caffine in it. Good Luck!

Thanks Heather...Well it's my second day with coffee or soda and I seem to be ok don't really feel stressed, not yet anyway lol. I will let you know what happens Friday. Good luck at your appointment!

Soready a friend of mine told me her GYN said to cut the caffeine when she mentioned her periods were irregular. She stopped the caffeine, well cut down a lot and her periods are now regular. So I think that it does something to slow down the whole ovulation cycle. Either way it's worth a shot to try and cut it out. I hope it works and my follies grow! How are you doing?

SoReady - June 18th, 2009 2:58 AM

Jac - I am doing good. Thanks for asking. For the last couple of days I was stressed because I havent O'ed this cycle but I'm not worried about that anymore. I saw my OB yesterday and she gave me Provera to start taking when I am ready to start my next cycle. So I am soooo excited. Now I am juts trying to figure out when I need to start taking it. Good Luck tomorrow. I hope that you have some mature follicles. It is nice that your doc. is so encouraging about this cycle. I hope that you get your BFP.

Jax923 - June 18th, 2009 9:33 AM

SoReady this may sound like a ridiculous question but I was always under the impression if you have your af then you ovulate. I have read several forums where they say that isnt true. I guess there was a lot I didnt know before I decided to do this. I am glad you are feeling better and remember no stress!!

SoReady - June 18th, 2009 10:36 AM

Jax - Yeah, I use to think the same thing but you can have a period w/o O'ing. Today is cd28 for me and I still have not O'ed. I cant believe that I am actually excited to see AF arive. Now I just need to decide when to start taking Provera.

I am wanting AF to arrive on the 27th. This will be my first round of Provera. When do yall think I should start taking it?

Jax923 - June 18th, 2009 10:39 AM

Wow I never knew that...I am not sure about Provera..I havent been prescribed that.

SoReady - June 18th, 2009 10:45 AM

So how are you doing with out caffine? Are you still going strong?

Jax923 - June 18th, 2009 10:53 AM

yes I am...i had decaf again this am...and my headache is very dull. Last night there was a glass of soda in front of my face with ice and I said no ha ha

SoReady - June 18th, 2009 12:45 PM

jax - Thats funny. I am caffeine free to help get prego and because I have read that by reducing caffeine from your body it will help make your body a little more acidic. An acidic environment is more favorible for female sperm. And I really want a little girl!

Heathermed20 - June 18th, 2009 1:18 PM

Soready , I took provera for 10 days once and i took it for 7 days and both times i started my af about 3 days after the last pill so depending on how any pills your obgyn gave you you can base your odds on that i even read that also that it starts after your done with the pills. hope that helps your planning.

Abbyjo, im eager to hear how the RE went today did you go yet????
Well just an update on me ive had some cramping on an off last couple days and i used preseed the night of my pos opk and again last night, that would of been sunday and wed, you girls got to go to that sight preseed.com i dont know if it really works but there are so many success stories and most of them just used it once, i got 6 individual ones for $14.99 so it wasnt a bad price.
Prayin, if your still out there how are you doing with your pregnancy, did you have any cramping during your 2 week wait bf your BFP????

prayin4ababy - June 18th, 2009 1:25 PM

heather- i don't remember any cramping during my 2ww. i kept waiting for it bc it was always a sign of AF, but never any cramping. i had a few spots of blood (probably implantation bleeding) but that was the only symptom.

my pregnancy is going good. i haven't had any morning sickness. i have major food aversions, sleepiness, and frequent urination, but those are basically my only symptoms. hopefully it keeps going this good!

good luck to all! i really hope you all get your BFP soon. baby dust to all!

AbbyJo_123 - June 18th, 2009 2:38 PM

Hi ladies!

Prayin - sounds great so far. Yay for no morning sickness!!

Soready - the first time I took provera, AF came just a few days later. Everytime since then it's taken almost 2 weeks with the same dosage, so I guess it can vary.

I am so anxious for this 2ww to be over for you guys who are "patiently" waiting. :)

As for me, well, I spent 3 hrs with the RE and I REALLY like him. I couldn't believe how much stuff he did during what was supposed to be just a consultation. We started off discussing my medical background, which is pretty extensive - we discussed my having Crohn's and also that I have severe osteopenia. I know that's not a fertility issue but he's done a lot of research with the Amer Board of Obs & Gynec on osteoporosis and I was really pleased with the info he gave me - and said he'd refer me to an Endocrinologist for some tests. Anyway, as for baby news, he did some kind of pap/culture thing because if some weird stuff from my HSG and then did an u/s to look at my ovaries. Wow is about all I can say. There was no question that I definitely have PCOS. My poor ovaries were packed with little bitty follies/cysts. He also asked me some questions about the HSG procedure and I explained to him how dreadfully painful it was and he said he had a good feeling that if he did another HSG that the tube wouldn't be closed. He said if the procedure was done a bit roughly, which is what he suspects, the tube will actually spasm and close. By trying to force more dye in, the radiologist just made it worse. Another possible cause couldve been any residue from my miscarriage. So, he said me may need to do another HSG but that's not for a few months. Anyway, he did loads of bloodwork testing for all kinds of things and is also doing a chromosomal text on both my DH and me. He explained how if there's a problem with our chromosomes matching up or something like that (he had kind of lost me at that point) it can cause miscarriages like mine - no sac, no nothing. But he said there's only a 2-3% chance that could happen. SO, now I just wait. It'll take a couple if weeks to get the results back and depending on what he finds, we'll go from there. But he was pretty sure all I'd need to do is take another dose of Provera and we'll do the Clomid again days 3-7 as well as days 12-22 every other day.

Whew, that was long. So, those are the results of my very long appt this morning. I'm extremely pleased with how the appt went and am looking forward to hearing the results and moving on. You guys were definitely right about seeing an RE! I'm so glad we went.

AbbyJo_123 - June 18th, 2009 2:43 PM

wow, I just reread my post. Please ignore my mispellings and bad grammar... I'm attempting to type on my phone. :)

Heathermed20 - June 18th, 2009 6:47 PM

prayin, thanks for the info its so hard waiting and thinking every little twinge or cramp may be it. How far along are you now?? Are you gonna find out what your having at 20 weeks???
Abbyjo, I am so so glad you went to RE i knew it would make you feel so much better, I cant beleive he spent 3 hours with you that is awesome!! This time if you get a HSG he will do it and see whats going on. Thats great he did lots of bloodwork to i hope it all is good, my dr diagnosed me with PCOS also and the RE is still using that diagnosis also, when i took the clomid for 5 days they werent sure i o but i know 100mg at clomid for 7 days i had the 22mm follie. Good thing about PCOS diagnosis is that your insurance will pay for all your testings. Did he give you provera to start your af or give u the clomid yet? How much clomid have you done so far?? Did you look into the preseed????
