Abbyjo, I am so so glad you went to RE i knew it would make you feel so much better, I cant beleive he spent 3 hours with you that is awesome!! This time if you get a HSG he will do it and see whats going on. Thats great he did lots of bloodwork to i hope it all is good, my dr diagnosed me with PCOS also and the RE is still using that diagnosis also, when i took the clomid for 5 days they werent sure i o but i know 100mg at clomid for 7 days i had the 22mm follie. Good thing about PCOS diagnosis is that your insurance will pay for all your testings. Did he give you provera to start your af or give u the clomid yet? How much clomid have you done so far?? Did you look into the preseed????

So I went this morning to check the follies and the Dr. was sick so he didn't come in. The nurse met with everyone and told us each what we should do. So I have to go in tomorrow to another office and have them checked and also get an ovulation test...anybody have any tips on how to use them...I have no idea what to look for.

Heather - Did your RE talk to you about taking anything else with Clomid, like Metformin? I've heard a lot of women with PCOS take the two together. My RE didn't mention it and I forgot to ask, so I thought I'd ask you about it also. It was definitely a long appt - only half of it was actually with the doctor - but I really enjoyed it (sort of). He seemed very thorough and wanted to make sure we were checking everything so we can do our best to prevent a third miscarriage. He's one of those doctors that actually comes out to the waiting room to get his patients rather than send the nurse or medical asst. I just really like him. :) He didn't give me Provera yet because he wants to wait until all my test results come back. He said one of them can take a couple of weeks and he doesn't want AF to come before that. Assuming all the tests are normal I will take Clomid again, but if any are abnormal, we'll have to go a different route. So we're just waiting... story of our lives. :) I've done two rounds of Clomid so far. No O on 50 mg, O on 100 mg. I'm going to do some googling this morning about the additional Clomid days 12-22 (every other day). I can't say I've ever heard that before. But if it works, I'm all for it. And yes, we've got preseed. I bought the package of 6, but we're saving that for our fertile days. :) We also got the tube that can be used as needed... I like it. lol The only thing I'm a little disappointed about with the RE is that he doesn't monitor follies. Guess each doctor is different.

Jax - As for the OPKs, they drive me absolutely crazy. My RE actually said they could cause unnecessary stress which would have an adverse effect on conceiving. Makes sense to me - I became so obsessed with that stupid line, it was all I could think about. BUT... that's just me. They work great for lots of people. The last time I used them, I got a package of the cheapest ones I could find (I've heard the dollar store ones work just fine) and I also got a box of the digitals. Sometimes it can be really hard to tell if the test line is darker than the control line. When I had any question, I'd use the digital which would give me a happy face if positive. That helped a lot.

Keric & Heather - Only one more week until you can test, right??? :) Yay!

Esmy - When do you get your progesterone results back to see if you O'd? I'm so excited for you three girls!

Jax - Testing with OPK's is just like taking a HPT, except you do not want to use them when you first wake up in the morning. You just get up in the morning and go to the bathromm, then either a couple of hours later or later in the day (what ever is convenient for you) take your OPK. The LH surge that is detected by the OPK can last as little as 12 hours on up to 48 hours, so it is up to you how many times a dy that you want to test. Some people only test once a day, others do it twice. I do mine twice a day because if I were to have tested at 10am, got my LH surge at noon, and then didnt test again until the next morning at 10am, then I would have missed seeing my + OPK. Last month my LH surge lasted 48 hours but I am irregular so I do mine twice a day during fertile days just to be safe. I know that doing it twice a day can get expensive so you decide what you want to do. This month I took 32 OPK test and still no + but for me it was worth it. I wanted to make sure that I didnt miss it. If you need any OPK's in the future, you can get them on ebay: 50 for $14.99 and that is including shipping. I use them and they work great. I also buy my HPT's as well because they are so cheap. Once I get a +HPT then I will use a more expensive HPT from the store.

Oh, there is a great website called (peeonastick dot com) and it can probably answer more questions for you on OPK's and HPT's. There are also pictures of both + and - test to show you what they will look like. Check it out. Good Luck on your appointment tomorrow!

Abby - I agree that OPK's can drive you crazy. From cd17 to cd28 I was tesing several times a day and every time I would get a -, all I could do was obsess about taking the next test. Everytime I just knew that the next one would be a +. This cycle a + never came. Who knows maybe it was self induced by the stress. Next cycle well be virtually stress free when it comes to OPk's because I am getting the hcg shot. I cant wait! I am so excited! Next cycle can not come fast enought!

Jax - When you get the hcg shot it will make you O so at least you wont have to worry about not O'ing due to stress.

Sorry Abby just read your post as well...I am sure they can drive you crazy, I haven't even started checking yet and I am a nutcase!! How many come in a box? I am going to get some after work..

The Nurse actually just called me back and said I dont have to go in tomorrow that I should just check the ovulation test and if I ovulate go in for the IUI if not just go back Monday to check the follies.

Jax - The hcg shot is usually given to you the day you have your u/s as long as you have at least 1 mature follicle. What cd are you on? So tomorrow if your u/s comes out good then you could be getting your shot. Most people O 36 hours after they get the shot. I am crazy . . . so I will take an OPK every 12 hours after I get my shot. I also plan on bd'ind the day I get the shot through a couple of days after O.
OPK's can come in a box with as little as 5 in it all the way up to 30. At least that is what I have seen at WalMart in the past.

Jax - I am sorry that your not going in tomorrow! Just try not to go to crazy this weekend testing. lol

SoReady I am on CD 16 ...my cycle normally runs late...between 35 and 45 days and thats pretty consistent...so I am thinking ovulation will be sometime next week. I can't be too sure though because he had me on clomid this month so I'm wondering if it will be a regular 28 day cycle. Most likely I will just check all weekend and drive myself crazy. lol

Jax - My cycles are like yours thats why my OB is giving me the hcg shot. I am not 100% sure but I think that clomid is suppose to make cycle closer to 28 days.

Hey Soready...I dont think its working and making a 28 day cycle cause if that's the case I'd be ovulating now, which I'm not I just took a test. I'm sure once they see a larger follie they will give me an hcg shot....It's just now I have to wait until Monday to see where my follies are at.

Abbyjo, Yes my obgyn diagnosed me with PCOS he gave me metformin I am taking 1500mg every day and ive been on it since feb this year and did the clomid with it i didnt o on 50 mg and it was ?? on the 100 and 150mg so thats when i went to the RE and he did the clomid 100mg for 7 days and he did u/s that this month showed the 22mm follie and when i got a pos opk he let me give myself the hcg shot. It will be a week tomorrow from when i took the shot. My RE was like yours to he came out to the waiting room and got me. Since the metformin and clomid the only good ive had was my cycles seem to be regulated (for now anyway) my cycles are around 30-32 days right now, ive never heard the clomid days 12-22 either i may look that up to although my RE never said anything about that, he did say that if i didnt get BFP that he was doing the same thing next cycle so i will be doing the 100mg again for 7 days. He also sold me opk from his office they are more accurate than the one at the store all you had to do was look for a 2nd line even if it was light it was pos it was simple and last sunday was when i has the pos, but i didnt test any more after that i didnt think you had to keep testing after the pos reading????? The only thing i wasnt sure of was when i actually o hopefully 36 hours after the shot bc we used the preseed that sunday night, it was a sample from the RE and i didnt get a box til wed so we used it that night to. I also take a baby aspirin everyday to did u aske about that?? I cant wait till you get your bloodwork back and get things going so he doesnt check your follies at all?? I go in monday am for my progesterone test also im not sure what hes looking for when i had the shot i thought that it made you o so why would i need the progesterone level done.

jax, i didnt have too much trouble with the opk from walmart but definately had an easier time with the ones the RE sold me kinda expensive $30. What is the reasoning for testing after your pos reading??? I didnt do that?? I did take the shot after my pos reading but i didnt check again after that should i have done that?? My cycles run around 30-32 days and i have done 4 rounds of clomid my pos opk is usually aroud cd 17.

Morning Girls...How is everyone doing? Well as for me, I did go to get my CD 21 progesterone levels and they were at 17.1! The nurse explained to me that at CD 21 they like to see a level of 10 or higher. I asked her if I had ovulated. She said that a progesterone level above 3 indicates ovulation. Then she said that 17.1 was real good and so far so good. She finished by saying the next step is for me to call them once I have a + HPT. As if it were that easy. I was told to test on the 26th! Does anybody know if u have to absolutely have implantation bleeding/spotting? Im getting a little obsessed with checking for it every time I use the bathroom. I keep thinking I have to see it. As for any symptoms, my sister said I should take a HPT now bcz she said Im really hormonal, just bcz I started crying really quick during an argument. Ive also had small cramps here and there, they dont last very long though. I have also woken up sweating alot. Temperatures have been between 96.23 and 98.70. Has anyone else been keeping up with there temps? I am so tempted to take a HPT, but i dont feel like spending $9 for 1, when the 25 that I got on ebay for $9 will be here probably on monday or turesday.

AbbyJo...Im very happy that ur visit to the RE went extremely well for u. I know what u mean about ur RE being one of those that comes out to the waiting room to get his patients the 1st time u meet, instead of just sending out the nurse or tech, my RE did the same thing. Im glad that you have a good plan going now. It seems that most RE's like to monitor closely and take precautions, which is why they do the b/w prior to beginning treatment.

Heather...Im glad u were able to use the preseed. I didnt bcz of the 2 IUI's so figured no point for it then, but maybe I should have used it the following 2 nights that my Dh and I bd. Either way too late now. Im trying to stay positve regarding this cycle. I cant wait til u get ur progesterone levels checked. Hopefully they will be really good! When do u think u will take ur 1st HPT?

Keric...How r u holding up during this never ending 2ww? Have u had any symptoms? Have u felt anything that could possibly be implantation? I know ur RE told u to test on the 27th, any plans to begin testing earlier?

Jax...Have u gotten a + OPK? If not, I really hope that u have mature follies on Monday. So u are getting an IUI? I had mine a little over a week ago, and I really hope it worked! It doesnt hurt much when u get it done, just a slight discomfort. Good Luck!

Prayin...Im so happy u got to hear ur angels' heartbeat! I cant wait for that moment! I know that you were 1st told that u hadnt O'd last cycle, but then u found out u were prego. I just had some questions for u since u actually got a BFP last cycle! Hopefully u can answer them if u remember? U were on 150mg of Clomid CD 3-7 right? How many follies did u have during ur u/s and how big were they? When u 1st got ur CD 21 progesterone levels checked, what were they at? Also, do you recall on what CD u had ur implantation spotting? And the last of my gazillion questions, on what CD did u get ur 1st BFP? I understand if u cant answer them all.
