Looking - I could not help thinking back to when my Hubby and I were trying for our last child when I read your post. We tried for 3 years with 3 m/c before I lost it and when to my OB. It took us about a year for our first pg then M/C at 8 weeks, then 2 months later I was pregnant again and m.c at 6 weeks and again at 4 weeks. I finnaly got On clomid and after 2 rounds I was pregnant. During our trying times my husband use to get so upset. He said it was because my life turned into trying for a baby. Which it did. As you ladies know your days ate just counting for what comes next in your cycle.

Looks like I am on CD 14. I started on day 11 with my OPK and still -. Started taking my mucinex last night. Now it is just the waiting game for O. On the good news I have found a perfect house and have started the long proccess of paper work for it. Maybe it will keep my mind off of the upcoming 2ww. If not I have got my Knitting supplies and I will be keeping my self busy that way.

I also Have two girls that I had with out trying. Now ages 10 and 9. I wish it was as easy to get pregnant as they taught us in school! You know if you have sex you automaticly get preggo!

lookingforbabies - May 25th, 2009 4:58 PM

its definelty been a stressful time for us. The first couple of months we figured it would happen really easily because with our son it was an accident. But then months passed. And then more months. And now its like we cant have sex without putting so much pressure on ourselves! I wish I could just get preggo so tht we can go back to enjoying it without having to think about whether or not a baby is going to come out of it!

Oh well, 2ww is almost over, I'm going to test on Wednesday (10 dpo, expecting AF that day). I'll definetly let you guys know the result! We just got word that DH might be being shipped off for 5 weeks for training (military), so if it didnt happen this month we're going to have to wait until July if he does have to go. Cross your fingers for me ladies!

SoReady - May 25th, 2009 5:46 PM

Looking - I am in a very similar position as you are. I had to wait a year because of other medical issues but once we were ready my dh was deployed. He came home for 5 days but of course I was not O'ing. He is currently deployed so I will have to wait until July to try. Good Luck this cycle!

I apologize for being "missing in action," we've been out of town for the holiday weekend. I'm glad things are going so well for everyone. And welcome aboard lookingforbabies. SoReady, I have nothing to back up Astro-glide, I just know it's water-based and supposed to be much closer to actual mucus than KY-jelly, etc. I have no idea how sperm friendly it is though. But with the Mucinex, I was okay. I wasn't as wet as a non-clomid month, but it seemed fine. I got a positive OPK on Thursday night, and it stayed positive until Monday morning. I was getting a little concerned. We BDed every night, because we kept thinking it was our last chance before the peak ended. But I think we did 6 days in a row of BDing (that probably wasn't the best idea). Anyway, I'm on CD 20, and Oing seems to be over. I'm pretty sure I overstimulated myself because my stomach was very bloated and both ovaries and my back just ached from CD 14-18. It was soooo bad on CD 16, I had to just sit or lay down all day, and the pain was making me nauseas. Looking at my charting though, I think that was my peak day. No cramping today. I'll start the progesterone cream tomorrow. For now I suppose I just wait another 10 days before I can take a pregnancy test. Twin dust to all.

Mzwest83 - May 26th, 2009 4:40 PM

I went to astro glides web page and it says since it is a water base it does not cause problems while ttc. I think i might give it a try. My friend told me she always used egg whites because that is what they use to store sperm when they do IVF. She always got pregnant first try. Not sure though if I really want to go there! LOL
I am CD 15 and still a - OPK. I am feeling alittle bummed.

Mzwest83 - May 26th, 2009 4:42 PM

Wishful- I know this is late in the game to ask ut what are the side effects of overstimulating? I mean I know the signs but does that mean you will produce to many eggs or just a couple? I was a little worried that I might have over stimulated and read on line you should not bed but did not give a answer why.

haveboxerwantbaby - May 26th, 2009 5:50 PM

so i'm feeling a little anxious. since i got my clomid u/p off a website i know that i'm taking a risk and i can't be 100% about what i actually got and took days 3-7. i don't recall feeling any major s/e's during those days, and i'm wondering when/if i'll start feeling bloated and ovaries enlargening? it's day 9 right now.

any words of advice? i've started taking mucinex, and will be trying to find astroglide or pre-seed/conceive soon.

could someone remind me where to get the natural progesterone cream?

thanks!

Mzwest83 - May 26th, 2009 7:22 PM

haveaboxerwantbaby- I dont remember 100% what mine looked like but they were whie with a score on the back. They also came in a blister pack. You could try looking up what they look like online. Did you take your Clomid in the evening or morning? I heard if you take it in the evening you have less s/e. I to am looking for where to get the cream. I got mine last time online but it is too late to order right now. I know walmart sells it but I dont think it is pure. GNC has some natural but again I dont know if it is pure. Hoped this helped!!

Krissy68 - May 26th, 2009 8:07 PM

Hey ladies can I join? I also wanted to know where did you get your clomid from and how long does it take to deliver it to you please let me know. Krissy68

lookingforbabies - May 27th, 2009 12:09 AM

Hey ladies,

Well, I saw the doctor today and BFN. He said its possible it was too early. Just thought I'd give the update and now I'm off to pout myself to sleep.

wishful.thinking - May 27th, 2009 12:42 AM

lookingforbabies, I'm so sorry. I hope it was just too early.

Krissy I bought my clomid in Mexico, but I hear a lot of women using mexmedsforyou. I don't know how long it takes to receive it.

Mzwest and haveboxer, I researched progesterone like crazy, and I found that a cream with 450mg of USP progesterone per ounce is as effective as the oral perscription, Prometrium (in clinical trials with periodic blood draws). I tried Rite Aid and Walgreens, but nobody seemed to carry it. So I ordered mine online from Better Health International. They were the cheapest ($21.85 for the 4 oz tube), and I got the cream in 2 days. You're supposed to use 1/2 tsp of cream (40mg) to equal a 200mg dose of Prometrium. Use it morning and night for the first trimester and then ween yourself off slowly. Be really diligent though...I read that if you even miss 1 dose it could trigger a miscarraige, because when your progesterone level falls, your body thinks it's time to miscarry. You're supposed to start using it after your temperature has been up for at least 2-3 days, or you're sure you're 2-3 past ovulation.

Side note: if you do become pregnant and are using the cream, be very careful not to run out before reordering. You can't even miss 1 dose without risking miscarrying. And I also read that mothers who used progesterone in the first trimester were less likely to go into early labor (a plus for us twin seekers), and that they were finding higher IQ's in the child from progesterone enhanced mothers.

wishful.thinking - May 27th, 2009 1:01 AM

Mzwest, I was feeling a little bummed as well on day 15, but my OPK came right after. Don't lose hope. And I'm just guessing I overstimulated, because it hurt like hell, and my stomach seemed swollen. My friend who has done IVF like 6-7 times always overstimulates (by the doctor's doing). She told me that with each attempt, her ovaries are full of a few great eggs, some moderate eggs, and lots of immature eggs, plus a ton of fluid. Her abdomen always swells from fluid retention, eggs, and sometimes ovarian cysts. It always goes away after ovulation though (including her cysts -- they've always dissapeared within a month).

I'm guessing I overstimulated because it wasn't like cramps in my uterus which I get with periods, it was like both my ovaries and my back ached -- and I could see that my abdomen was a little swollen. I could have a cyst, I don't know. The worst day for pain was CD 16 (but I had also done a lot of house cleaning and some heavy lifting...probably not a good idea). The symptoms continued until about CD 19. We bedded anyway, because I didn't want to waste my clomid. I bet they say not to bed if you've overstimulated because of the risk of multiples, also it hurts. I had to make sure DH didn't lean on my stomach -- ouch! I don't know what to think. If I did conceive then there's a chance a dropped a couple of eggs, or I just made lots of small ones that swelled my ovaries, but weren't mature enough to do anything. I know it's risky, but I suppose I'm gambling here. I have a DS 11, DD 8, and a DS 4. Each pregnancy I've carried to term and been healthy (I know multiples is different) but I can hope, can't I?

Also for bedding, I always had bottom with my bum on a couple of pillows. DH hated mounting the pillow-mountain every time, but I didn't want to lose a single drop. I kept my bum up on the pillow for at least an hour afterward before slipping it out from under me and going to sleep. I never got up again from bed until the morning, I didn't want any dripping. LOL!

wishful.thinking - May 27th, 2009 1:04 AM

Mzwest, I'd just go for the bedding -- overstimulated or not. But that's just crazy ol' me talking. I wish you were a month behind me so I could tell you how many bundles I conceived. Good luck.

wishful.thinking - May 27th, 2009 1:09 AM

Haveboxer, I was really concerned too that I may have taken a placebo from Mexico instead of clomid. I had a slight headache nearly every day that I was on it (cd 2-8)and a titch of nausea, but I could still talk myself out of it and wonder if I'd been given a placebo. Don't worry, you probably took the right thing. My cramping didn't start until day 11, and it was very mild until day 16 -- when it was totally out of control, and then lasted until about day 19. Best of luck. Get your progesterone cream.

SoReady - May 27th, 2009 5:04 AM

Krissy - You are always welcome! I bought u/p clomid online at (mexmeds dot com dot mx/index dot php) it takes about 21 days to get to you in the states because they send it registered mail. I recieved the same stuff that Linda got and it obviously worked for her! The price is $29.35 plus shipping (I think $14) for 30, 50mg pills.
