Thanks Krissy for answering.I went and bought a different kind of OPK. I should have the first time I used it when it didnt work at all. But I am cheap! So I bought a digital kit. I am worried because my doctor said there is nothing he can do at this point. I did read online that you can "O" as late as cd25 so I am still holding out hope I can catch it. We have not been bd because hubby wants a boy so bad he is doing the shettles to a t. Which is 12 hours after O we bd. I Am thinking about lieing just so I feel like I am not wasting this Clomid.
Looking for babies- I will keep you in my prayers! It sounds like you are pregnant to me! Try a sports bra. I am a chesty girl and when ever I moved with my last I hurt. I lived in mine for the first 3 months! Do you have any other signs??

wishful.thinking - May 28th, 2009 11:53 PM

Mzwest, I'm worried you're wasting your O by not BDing. I bet if you have the egg whites, you are Oing. I'd start the bedding right now, and continue everyday for at least the next 3-4 days. Maybe you will have a girl, but maybe you'll drop a second egg and that one will be a boy. LOL

Lookingfor babies, I'm so hopeful for you.

Krissy, I'm thrilled that you O'd.

Have boxer, my O was 1 day later than usual with clomid. With your late cycle I'd keep OPK testing well past day 18. Good luck.

Mzwest be careful with trying shettles as O+12 is one of the best timings for conceiving a girl, especially if you BD in the morning, I have the girly girl to prove it lol, I too thought I was doing shettles. Here's a link to a gender swaying site that I use it has loads of tips if your interested. I am going to bd with OH the evening I first feel O pain. Hope this link works. Nope it didn't, try pasting this into your search box in-gender.com/Gender-Selection/Natural.aspx

O+12 Method for Conceiving a Girl
Method popularized by a devout Shettles follower -- after the birth of her 6th son! Kynzi theorized that a girl might be conceived just after ovulation. Her 7th child? A daughter!

well everyone, took the test and a BFN, plus AF has reared her ugly head. Oh well, here goes the whole process from scratch!

wishful.thinking - May 29th, 2009 2:52 PM

lookingforbabies, I'm so sorry, especially with all of your signs of BFP. Are you going to change how you dosed your clomid last time or which days to take it, or just keep it all the same? Also, I can't remember, or maybe you didn't post, if you O'd this last cycle. Did you O and just not conceive, or did you not O? Best of luck.

Krissy68 - May 29th, 2009 7:24 PM

lookingforbabies - I'm so sorry that you got a bfn and plus AF showed up. I'm not sure but if you don't mind me asking how long have you been ttcing? Hang in there I have been trying for 2 years now and I am also racing against the clock I will be 41 on Wednesday. I am sending you a hug. Krissy68

haveboxerwantbaby - May 29th, 2009 10:00 PM

ooop thanks wishful thinking for the below - just reposting for info sake:

Mzwest and haveboxer, I researched progesterone like crazy, and I found that a cream with 450mg of USP progesterone per ounce is as effective as the oral perscription, Prometrium (in clinical trials with periodic blood draws). I tried Rite Aid and Walgreens, but nobody seemed to carry it. So I ordered mine online from Better Health International. They were the cheapest ($21.85 for the 4 oz tube), and I got the cream in 2 days. You're supposed to use 1/2 tsp of cream (40mg) to equal a 200mg dose of Prometrium. Use it morning and night for the first trimester and then ween yourself off slowly. Be really diligent though...I read that if you even miss 1 dose it could trigger a miscarraige, because when your progesterone level falls, your body thinks it's time to miscarry. You're supposed to start using it after your temperature has been up for at least 2-3 days, or you're sure you're 2-3 past ovulation.

Side note: if you do become pregnant and are using the cream, be very careful not to run out before reordering. You can't even miss 1 dose without risking miscarrying. And I also read that mothers who used progesterone in the first trimester were less likely to go into early labor (a plus for us twin seekers), and that they were finding higher IQ's in the child from progesterone enhanced mothers.

fyi i did some research online and it looks both walmart and walgreens potentially carry progesterone cream...at least it shows up online. except that it says for menopausal women. is this the same thing?

lookingforbabies - May 30th, 2009 12:41 AM

hey ladies! Does anyone know where I'd be able to get an u/p hcg injection? I'm a little unfamiliear with the u/p world.... have any of you used one?

wishful.thinking - May 30th, 2009 1:38 AM

Haveboxer, just make sure that it's natural USP progesterone. The synthetic kinds have side effects such as birth defects. But the natural progesterone hasn't led to any side effects for the babies. And yes it's the same stuff menopausal women use, but that doesn't neccesarily mean that any brand Wal mart carries is safe (unless it's natural -- from the plant). Good luck.

SoReady - May 30th, 2009 3:56 AM

haveboxer - I found some progestrone cream on embay for abput $15. I dont know if it is natural or how much of it that you should use. It is a lotion so you should be able to put it anyway on your body. If you use it I would be careful about it because if you miss taking it for 1 day you could start to m/c if you are prego. Thats why I have decided not to take it unless my OB gives it to me.

SoReady - May 30th, 2009 4:02 AM

looking4babies - I have never run across anyone who has found or used u/p hcg. Personally I dont thing that I would take an u/p injection. Dr typically do an u/s on women before they give the injection to see how many eggs are mtured (if any). If there are too many eggs dr will not give the injection. If you are not gonna have an u/s around cd14 I would do it if I were you. you never know what would happen.

MischeifMom - May 30th, 2009 6:47 PM

Hi everyone. I am new to this site. I was doing research and came across this forum and read through it all. It is nice to know I am not the only one out there hoping for twins. Ever since I was little I felt like I was going to have twins. Conceiving has never been "easy" for me. It took 11 months to get preg the first time, and I didnt "try" with my son at first. I just stopped taking the pill and after a year and a half we tried to conceive and it took another 8 months. The doctors checked me and said I am ovulating fine and my husbands sperm count was fine. So we kept trying. This will be my last pregnancy. We are trying for the first time this month (I am due to start my period on the 2nd) I bought generic clomid online because I wanted to get pregnant faster this time. I also thought it might up my chance for twins which we would love. I only got 10, 25mg tablets. I didnt want to take to much because I was scared of having triplets or quads. It sounds like all you are taking 50mg. Does anyone know of people who have become pregnant while taking clomid for no apparent medical reason? Did they have singles, twins or more? I am wondering if I should take 50mg instead of 25mg. I would love twins but do not think I am up for taking care of triplets, twins will keep me busy enough lol! Sorry for long post.

SoReady - May 31st, 2009 3:43 AM

mischeif - 50mg is the lowest dosage that dr rx. Taking 25mg may not have any affect on you. My OB old me that there is only a 6% chance of conceiving twins using clomid and less then 1% chance for higher order multiples. The dosage that women take range from 50-200mg depending on their past medical history.
