ShannonH - Hey girlfriend I haven't talk to you in forever and yes I am still ttcing. How are you feeling and doing? Rub your belly for me. Congratulation on having twin boys your due date is just around the corner. Do you have any names picked out? Let me feel you in on what is going on with me. Not sure if you remember that I did go to fertility doctor back in March and he wanted me to do IVF because of my age and wouldn't even give me clomid. Anyway I thought my insurance would cover 100% and all I would have to do is pay the $100 copay well I was wrong I misunderstood the financial coordinator. I have to have the laparocospy with the hysterscopry to fixed the left blocked tube which I knew I had from the last HSG I had done and to clear out all the scar tissue. In my heart I really think that is all I need to have done then I can get pg. I know I will never every in this lifetime be able to afford IVF so I told the doctor I wanted to do IUI so that is why I have to have that procedure done first. Anyway my insurance will only cover 50% and my copay is $1,175.00 so of course I was down and out. The financial coordinator said I could make payments so I was a little happy about that but of course things kept coming up so I was at a stand still since I think about April. Well the kids started school last Wednesday and I had already got them some school clothes so I had an extra $100 that I was going to spend on them but then I thought oh no I am not I am going to start doing something for me. I sent in the $100 last week and now all I need is $650.00 so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I was real happy and proud of myself last week and I also made myself a promise that starting this Friday I would at least send in $50 every 2 weeks until it is paid well I get a email today from the coordinator to tell me she received my payment and that she will have to request a new authorization from the insurance company because it is only good for 90 days and it expired in June then she said once I get my balance down to $300.00 to let her know because she might be able to lower the cost of the anethesia from $525.00 to $350.00 so now you know I am jumping up and down so my new balance is going to be $475.00 as of today. I am so happy and I know I can come up with this money I am now hoping to have it done before the holiday hits. My ex always send me money every month for the girls so I will use some of that it is not like they will miss it. I know I can only have the surgery done between cd6-12. I will keep you updated on that.

Also I have a question for you. I decided not to take anything this month because last month I took u/p clomid one of the ladies had because she is currently 6 months pg and she didn't need it. Anyway it didn't work. I am only doing my temp and I always use opk test and I start testing on either cd10 or 11 well I started testing Monday cd10 and it was a bfp so on cd11 it was another bfp and my temp was 97.90 so today cd 12 I got a bfn and my temp went up to 98.04. I have never every as long as I can remember had a positive opk on cd10 what do you think of this. I started bd'ed so far on cd8-12. Also when you get a chance can you email me privately. Krissy68

Hi everyone! So I am so excited because i'm going to start next cycle trying for two little bundles! I am kind of nervous however because even though I have a healthy baby girl I recently had a miscarriage and i am afraid that taking clomid will be more risk than it's worth! I have never had fertility problems and both times i conceived on the first cycle of trying so here's hoping right! Well I wanted to tell you all about this stuff i found it's called FertileCM and it's just a natural supplement that is supposed to make your body produce sperm friendly cm and also improve the lining of your uterus! I researched whether you should take it with clomid and i found a site that said it's the perfect thing to fight those nasty side affects! So my plan is to take that my whole cycle and take u/p clomid cd 3-7! Hopefully it works... i'm not expecting my next cycle to start for 3 weeks but i will definently keep you all posted with results! Baby dust to all!!!

MommyRN - August 26th, 2009 5:59 PM

Hey ladies. I am new to the group. I have been reading everyones postings. I am non judgemental so no fear. I am an RN with background in OB and infertility, I am also a mother of twins and took clomid. However, I am not sure if that is what I conceived twins. Twins run in the fam. My hubby is in Afghanistan and I am thinking of going back on Clomid so when he comes home for R&R we can try at least once. Hoepfully, this will increase our chances. Not too mention I have PCOS so periods are tricky for me. I never know when I will ovualte.

I used clomid 50mg on my first try and docs told me it was a no go after a TV US. So we didn't try that month. They increased me to 150mg and we got PG with our twins. So we are hoping for another shot this time around. I use Clomid days 5-9, Robitussen to help with my cervical mucus and Pre-Seed to help even more with pH issues.
I read some people speaking about the yams from Africa. Whoever responded was correct. I highly doubt you will be able to get them in powdered form into the U.S. but you also have to take into account they are toxic. These African women know how to prepare them to make them non-toxic. Please be careful. I actually researched this in college.

I wish you all the best of luck and many blessings. If there are any other military wives please give me a shot out. Otherwise I am up for some friends and sure can relate to what you all are goign through.

Take Care-
MommyRN

wifelady - August 27th, 2009 12:47 AM

HI mommyRN! How exciting that you are gonna ttc again! I am going to school to become an RN! I love nursing! Which my husband thinks is weird!!! lol Well... I definently agree with you that people should look into that yam thing a little more before going out and trying to buy something! My husband WAS in the military but after some serious discussing we decided that he wouldn't re-enlist so now we are back in our little hometown! Being a military wife is definently a tricky one and you're staying home alone with twins!!! For some reason i just assumed you had boys but i realize you didn't mention so are your twins boys/girls/ boy, girl?? I am always just curious because i read that clomid favors boys... hmm wonder if it's true! Well hope you're doing well! I'm just waiting for AF to come so i can start my first round of clomid... who knows... AF is unpredictable after a m/c i suppose :(!!!

MommyRN - August 27th, 2009 9:39 AM

Wifelady- Goodluck with school. We need more RN's that is for sure. Nice to know I am not the only one who has gone this military road. It is hard to think about my hubby getting out. Especially in our current economic times. Scary stuff. But at the same time I am so sick of the constant deployments.

As far as my twins go I have two girls. I actually read that girls are more common due to the fact Clomid makes CM more acidic and female sperm do better in acidic environments. At this point it is almost amusing. I read something different on every site. Which days to do 5-9, 3-7? Bla bla bla. It gets so confusing. I stayed up late last night figuring out all the details to plan my first round during my hubby's R&R. That is fun. Trying to figure out when to get your cycle, when to take clomid, when to have TI. Timing is essential. I need to get a BCP prescrip to time my cycle. Not too mention your chances of getting PG are greateer the month after going off BCP. Supposeldy it helps lessen the chance of cysts too. Hopefully he comes home in time. HA! Especially after all this drama.
When I got pregnant the first time we had sex every other day from the last day of my cycle to the beginning of my next. It worked. However, it became almost a chore. We ended up conceiving not sure exactly what day but we were told we conceived our girls on differnt days. This time around I won't mind because it will haev been 5 months since I saw my hubby. He will be ready to go back to his deployment by the time I am finished with him. HA!
Well goodluck to you all. I am really excited and nervous.

shashana - August 27th, 2009 9:54 AM

MommyRN: Gl to you on this cycle.
I am also planning 2 study to become a RN then a midwife. But where i live you have to pass an exam to select the best befor strating the studies.

Anyway, You also have a good chance of conceiving twins again.
Sending lots of badydust your way.

wifelady - August 27th, 2009 5:51 PM

MommyRN- Timing is everything and it sucks!! My hubby is home all the time but he's more hormonal than me lately! Just today he tried to tell me that we're gonna wait till december to ttc! HAHA news flash buddy! lol just kidding but seriously... he frustrates me because i know when the time comes all i have to do is ask! He has no will power... even though he acts like it! Grr... you can obviously tell i'm frustrated with him! Men... geez

Krissy68 - August 27th, 2009 5:51 PM

Krissy68 - August 28th, 2009 1:15 PM

Hey girls I just wanted to check in and to let you know I will be off line until Tuesday. My oldest daughter and 2 granddaughters are leaving on Monday they are moving to West Virginia and it will be a sad day for me but I will be okay it will be for the best. As for me nothing much is going on I am on cd21/10dpo and I am now starting to feel quessy and my mouth is watering, real tired and very very very mild cramping off an on. I am not testing early no matter what my test date is Sep 4 and I should be getting AF on Sep 5. I hope you all have a very nice weekend and when I get back on Tuesday I will see some bfp. Talk to you soon. Krissy

wifelady - August 29th, 2009 2:02 AM

MommyRN- How's the planning going??? Are you prepared for your next cycle to come... just when i think i have a plan i start second guessing myself!!! I can't wait for my cycle to begin so i can just get on with it... but still a few more weeks for me! Well hope everyone is doing okay!! :)

MommyRN - August 29th, 2009 5:00 AM

Wifelady-
No I have everythign outlined on an excel document. That is all I can do for the planning as of now. My hubby informed me that he will not be comign home for R&R when he thought. Another blow. Now he is sayign maybe January. I am trying to look at it positively. This gives me more time to get all my prenatals in my system, exercise, and emotionally prepare.
It is what it is. I just need to take a deep breath right now or else I might loose it. Sometimes I feel like I am constantly being let down. At some point I sure hope this rollercoaster stops.
In the meantime I need to get my BCP prescriptions filled and my medroxyprogresterone. I am not sure which one I will do. We'll see. But in order to kick this off I need to get a cycle. I am not in a rush though seeing as how I now have a minimum of 4 full months and a max of 7.5 months. OUCH that is long! Keep me posted what happens with you. Hang in there.

wifelady - August 29th, 2009 1:30 PM

MommyRN- I'm sorry! Such is the life of a military wife huh! Thats the only bad thing is that there is no consistancy and you never REALLY know when they'll be coming home! Gosh.. i feel your pain... so glad to be past that part of life. (though hubby often talks about re-enlisting) like you said it is good in this economy! Well on the bright side it does give you time... i am chickening out about the clomid but i found this stuff which is supposed to be natural clomid... soy isoflavones. I've been doing a lot of research on it and you can buy it LEGALLY at any drug store so i'm going that route as well... only i think you need to take much more to have the same affects as clomid... just my theory because i can't find any info on how much would equal 50 mg of clomid. Considering clomid is artificial though i bet it's much more potent than any natural thing. Well i'm going to by the soy isoflavones today... and will take it next cycle... allegedly you take it just like you would take clomid... cd 3-7 or 5-9 or whatever. Think i'm leaning toward 3-7. Well... I hope you get a nice suprise and can have your man home early! You never know with the military! But yes get on those prenatals... my doc said that anytime you start thinking of ttc you need to start prenatals... the longer you are on them before you conceive the better. He said it would be best for people to take them for 6 months before but thats just not realistic huh! lol well i hope your weekend goes well... sorry for the bad news!

MommyRN - August 30th, 2009 12:01 AM

Wifelady-
Such is the life...you are right. I am trying to look at all the positive sides to waiting a few more months. Naturally, I am impatient. So I guess God is giving me a lesson in patience. Right?
I have plently of time that is for sure. Meanwhile, I can live vicariously through all you wonderful ladies. I am hoping and praying for happy endings to all your baby making. Good luck to all!

wifelady - August 30th, 2009 2:13 AM

MommyRN- Impatient! Aren't we all... i have two weeks until AF and it's worse than the tww... at least if i was in the tww i'd be keeping myself busy with imagined pregnancy symptoms :( lol! You never know... maybe God is making sure that your man gets home at just the right time so that you'll conceive... maybe these other months would've been failed attempts... we'll never know i suppose! I'm praying for you though trust me... you and all of these ladies! I feel so attached to everyone personally already!

Well, I bought the soy isoflavones and that fertilecm stuff! I'm totally jazzed. The soy isoflavones is supposed to be half as potent as clomid so 200mg will equal 100mg of clomid... allegedly. My plan is to take 200 mg cd's 3-7 (i debated 2-6 but am afraid of under matured eggs)! I will take the FertileCM pills the whole cycle... these pills create sperm friendly CM (much like musinex) and improve the lining of the uterus (which after a d&c i'm sure i can use all the help i can get in that dept.) lol! I don't know if i will take baby aspirin throughout my cycle but we will see... i will also have my hubby on Ferilaid for Men... from cd 1 until well after ov. this should improve is sperm viability and strength! Not taking any chances! praying for another precious miracle and hoping it doesn't end in miscarriage! I'll die... uggh i need to get those bad thoughts out of my head! Such a pessimist sometimes! Sorry... goodnight to you all!!!

JesPen - August 30th, 2009 4:17 PM

Hi ladies! I have a quick question to ask since some of you seem familiar with clomid, Is having an upset stomach for an hour or two after taking it a common side effect?? Im on 100mg days 5-9. Thanks for any info!

MommyRN - August 30th, 2009 6:44 PM

Wifelady-
I hear ya on the fear of miscarriage. That is my concern too. I don't think you can realy let that thought go though. It is in the back of our minds always. Even without a history of it. All you can do is let God take over. Kinda like you said. He does have a plan and the hard part for people like us sometimes is to let go. We all seem to be planners. I do hope that your miracle comes soon. I will keep you in prayers as well. Let us know how your isoflavins go. I am eager to hear.

I too have my hubby in prep mode. No caffeine, loose drawers, multivitamin, 400mcg of Folic Acid and Omegas. Got to get those swimmers healthy right? The good thing is I have an eager participant. HA! Guess that happens when you are stuck in the desert with a bunch of men for months on end without any privacy. Willing, that is an understatement.
So at least we are on the smae page. I just pray that our two weeks of opportunity, if I even get those, produce our mircale(s).Can only pray and hope.

Take care!

Kimberly
