I have been reading these posts for some time now and have been hesitant to post because of the neg. backlash by even considering taking u/p clomid....

Is this thread even still active??

but...I finally have gotten up the nerve.
So here goes...I am a almost 32 yr old SAHM of three, two beautiful sons 10 yrs(8lb 8oz) (adhd, with many medical problems behind us!!) and 7 yrs (8lb 1oz)(developmentally delayed, once classified as special needs boy..not now..yippee!!). Our daughter was adopted ( we have custody) in our hearts 2 years ago at 7 mo. old from my neglectful sister. At the time when we got our lil girl we had been trying to conceive for 3 years with out any luck ( I had just received my u/p clomid 1 week before the phone call to come get her). I thought she would cure my yearning to be pregnant again...it did for awhile. Now it is back.... My mother and Grandmother both had serious gynecological (sp?) problems in their early thirties that made it necessary to have a hysterectomy before 35.
My hubby and I did discuss the possibilities of hom and while it is not our desire to have 3 or more we feel that with the drug clomid the risks are low by just upping our chances of having twins slightly. I feel that I might be prescribed the drug if I consulted a RE but I have learned that having taken Clomid can reduce or even eliminate your chances to be covered (for basic medical care) by certain medical insurance companies.
I would appreciate any input from anyone who would like to comment... My u/p expires in Feb 07 so I am considering taking it early next year...to get all our affairs in order before just in case we do get preg. with more than one.

I thought that if you are ovulating, Clomid won't help you anyway. So why would anyone take it unprescribed, if they are ovulating? Does anyone know?

babs6219 - August 14th, 2006 10:59 PM

My former doctor told me that in order to help some women, who may ovulate, but with a long( or short) lunar cycle, or ovulate, but not always regularly, he had prescribed Clomid before. Also...when trying to catch an eggie.....if there are more than one, you've obviously got a better chance. I really think it varies from woman to woman, and from doctor to doctor, as to whether or not they recommend it even if you're ovulating. And for those of us who do it on our own...we have to look at previous medical recommendations ( if any)....and trust our judgement.
Good luck to you all, as always!

Bobbie

for the record I havea friend who ordered clomid( fertomid) off the internet and got it all sealed and packaged like from the factory, labeled all legal in the kind of package you have to pop them out of and for all those ladies on your high horse, she hoped for twins because her husband was only giving her one shot at a baby ( he had kids in a previous marriage) and she really wanted more she did have ovulation problems because she had very irregular periods but she really had her heart set on having more than one child so people ought not judge she did conceive after 2 cycles but only one baby but people must realize that if people are educated enough to use a computer and order med.s without pres. most likely they are also studying everthing there is to know about the drug and wouldn't take anything that looked suspicious or over medicate their selves.. They want a healthy baby(ies) not to die

Hi rom, This is my first time writing. Can you please tell me where your friend got it from. I am looking for a trusting site to buy it. Thanks

Hello I was looking for a site like this with this question. I think I may sel medicate I have yet to decide after reading everyones statements. I am the happy mom to 4. Daughter #1 natural at 17 years old she is now 15 yearsold Twins daughter and son natural 12years old and baby son 1 year with the need to use clomid just not O like I used to I guess. I would love another set of twins or just another baby having son so far from the others is almost like 2 familys. My husband and I had to wait to have him and said he was it but when we lost a few months ago we decide we want one last pg problem is everyone thikns that I am crazy including doctor. My only concern ids that I have a problem with cysts. I had this problem before he put me on the clomid and it did not seem to make things worse. Question if I self medicate do I tell him. Anyone take clomid and then told there doctor? Anyway please do not bash each other. Everyone make ther own choices in life good bad or what ever way it turns out we own whatever choice we make and no one else can be held responisible for some one elses choices.

I've used http://medsmex.com/store3/customer/, wioth no problems whatsoever, although it took close to a month when I finally got it, and they carry the generic Clomid (serophene). Good luck! And before our resident know-it-alls answer....I'm
not encouraging or telling you who to use. I'm just passing along information.
Good luck!

Hello everybody i am looking for a trusted site to buy Clomid from w/o a script. does anyone know of any?

Jessicab3 - October 15th, 2007 4:34 PM

I purchased from Sundrugstore.com without a script. I have no idea how legit they are but the Clomid (generic) showed up from India in only 10 days. They are sealed and have a 2010 expiration date. Haven't opened them yet but when I do I will check them against pictures on the internet before taking.

NewYork71 - October 22nd, 2007 5:02 PM

I had order my clomid from India as well. I would like some advice on the pro's and cons. I don't have any problem ovulating. I ovulate about every 12th and 13th day of my cycle. I just would like to know if it would increase my chances.

Not trying to preach... but I conceived triplets naturally and miscarried one. I always wonder whether losing her was because she was a triplet or not. When I look at my healthy twins I am happy but sometimes there is a sorrow in me. Perhaps one day it will go away. Risks are higher in multiple pregnancies. I am blessed to have 2 healthy twin girls but I will forever wonder what would have become of their triplet sister. If you CAN become pregnant without additional risk then you should let nature take its course. I know there are a lot of women here who have fertility problems and need to take medicine or have other treatments but I just hope that the fertile ones are responsible and smart enough to not take an unnecessary risk.

esmeraldausiahon - March 4th, 2008 3:29 PM

hi congrats on your pregnancy, i live in ireland, and am 23, mom of 3 kids, and also taking u/p clomid, because i have been trying to get pg, but unable to and i have seen a gyneacologist, and they wont do anything, they know about that i am using it, and are fine with it, but for those women that are using it to get pg with multiples, i tell you, be carefull, as it carries many risks with it, and a lot of people here i can see their attitude, but i am sure that se didn't chose to have the triplets, it is at the moment of conception, so no one can decide on their own to get pg with triplets or more, but i just want to say good luck with your pregnancy, and i hope it will work out wel for you.
