Just to clarify to "why" on an earlier posting of mine when I said physicians take an oath to "first do no harm" I meant simply what I explained above. Before a physician does anything to medically treat a patient, they must consider if what they are about to do can cause harm to a patient before proceeding. Little in medicine is black and white and often times decisions physicians make can cause harm, but the point is they use their knowledge and experience in making that decision. The FDA made clomid a perscription drug for many reasons. The reason people wanting to conceive multiples need to get it off the internet is that no physician with an ounce of medical ethics would perscribe it for an unintended potentially dangerous use. Ok I'll shut up for a while!

I didn't have any pain until it ruptured. Let me tell you, I couldn't even stand up the pain was so bad. I was being monitored by a DR but it still happened. I get really scared for the women on here that are taking this drug without a DR's okay. You have no idea what is going on in your body until something like this happens. Now I am only fertile 6 times a year. Everytime I get AF, I know I have another 2 months before I can try again. It's heartbreaking.

I just found out the same thing, but had one month of prescribed clomid, 50mg. Is this completely because of the clomid, do you know?

sandiya when did you get your postive hpt? i got mine at 9dpo...when did your pregnancy symptoms start to show? i have lots of wind and twinges in my uterous...i am kind of lethargic but nothing too much which would suggest that i am pregnant. i wondered if you could share when your symptoms hightened up esp casue you have twins...at what dpo...??and how many weeks into pregnancy...and how dark was your hpt line when you first tested. mine was lighter but there..

baby dust - December 6th, 2005 3:08 PM

I was on clomid (50mg) for 2 cycles. The first I ovulated but not pregnant. The second I did not ovulate. I am now on my third cycle (100mg). The first two cycles I was being monitored. I had to go to my doctors everyday after taking the clomid until ovulation. I have deceided for this third cycle I will not go to be monitored. The medication was all prescribed. I just don't want to avoid the hazzle of going to my doctors office everyday. I think it only makes me more stressed out. Anyone else not monitored on prescribed clomid?

I am fertile and my doctor prescribed Clomid for me because of my husband's poor sperm count. He said that with more eggs produced, it would increase our chances with more "targets" for them to reach. I was not monitored at all. He said to track my temperatures, use an ovulation predictor test, and come in if I got a positive pregnancy test. I am now 6 weeks pregnant, but I don't know yet how many babies there are. I understand feeling concerned for those who are taking Clomid unprescribed, although, in my situation, I wasn't monitored anyway. However, I take offense at those who suggest that people who are naturally fertile are just selfish. If someone was infertile and took Clomid and got pregnant with twins, everyone would be pleased for them. But if a fertile woman takes the same medication and gets pregnant with twins, she is a selfish monster? That doesn't really seem fair.

Blessings to all,
Sheryl

hi sheryl...wow so you are week ahead of me....i am 5 weeks on tuesday..please join my thread called the 'my diary continued...or my diary using unprescribed clomid updated regularly...' as there are mothers there who are pregnant due to clomid..p or u/p all all welcome...we all share our symptoms and can help each other there...what are yours? do you think you will have more than one? i personally don't although both me and my husband have no fertilty issues..and i took clomid u/p 100mg days 5-9. my symptoms of pregnany are very strong but then it could be my brain enhancing all the symptoms i have..i dont know...weight gain is definately the most obvious one...i have eaten quite a bit at the beginning but am now sloing down due to increases nausousness..on the 20th i will have a 6 weeks scan and will know more...how many and if healthy...do let us know how you get on
...i do agree the point you make about selfishness but some people here fail to understand...whihc is sad odon't you think???

baby dust - December 12th, 2005 12:25 PM

My doctor told me that the clinic that I go to for daily monitoring is closed from Dec 22 until after New Years. He told me not to take the clomid until the new year so that I can be monitored. I went ahead and started my Provera (to bring on my period) Once I am on day 5 of my period I will start my clomid. I don't really care at this point. My months are very precious to me......I cannot wait for others for me to get prego!!! What do you think?

JuliWolfe - December 20th, 2005 1:15 AM

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed Metformin and Provera. I have been TTC for 6+ years. I would like to take clomid as well, but my insurance does not cover it, nor will it cover a visit to a reproductive endocrynologist who would prescribe it to me. For that reason I've been considering buying unprescribed clomid, which is actually how I found this thread, by googling for it. I wouldn't take it JUST to have twins. I would take it JUST to get pregnant. At all. Period. If I were to become pregnant with twins or triplets I wouldn't be upset but that is not my goal nor my aim.

yetanothertripletmom - December 20th, 2005 9:07 AM

to JuliWolf - a regular OB/GYN can prescribe clomid. You don't need to see a RE.

MelissaK - December 21st, 2005 7:14 PM

I was prescribed Clomid for one month to run a hormone exam. The doc said we can BD if we wanted to. So we did like crazy Next thing I know, I had an ultrsound and it showed EIGHT FOLLICLES matured and ovulated. I'm scared. I mc twins in August, it was horrible (15 weeks). I want one healthy baby, not a litter. (of course I'll take whatever god throws me, I just don't think he human body wants to handle more than one pregnancy). I think I might have a heartattack if I had triplets.

Baby Dust - December 22nd, 2005 9:31 AM

MelissaK , what strength was your clomid and was this the first time taking it?

Hi ladies, I see this thread hasn't died down.
Update: I am 26.5 weeks pg with the triplets and everything is fine. We even found out the sex of 2 of the babies, baby A is a boy and baby B is a girl, C had its legs closed shut. They all have strong heartbeats but I look like I am 9 months pg already. I am working from home and my dh and I are getting ready to buy a new house, (5 bedrooms). I haven't been on the computer at all lately, the morning sickness was horrid. I am going to bed now, hope all you ladies are well.
