Renae,
You said that you aren't taking any other drugs. Are you going to try pre-seed or Robitussin? Are you using OPK's? Are you worried about the chance of multiples? Will you tell your doctor that you took unprescribed clomid if that occurs??? Sorry for so many questions these are just things that are on my mind lately. No headaches yesterday. CD4 today.

renae - February 24th, 2006 10:41 AM

stephanie, i wasn't thinking about taking robitussin because i really don't think i need it and i really do want to more than one baby because im 33 and i want to have lots of kids.Idon't know if im going to tell my doctor that i've been taking unprescribed clomid.what about you?

babyloves2play - February 24th, 2006 12:16 PM

Congratulations sandiya and all the others who have conceived on clomid! I'm still trying. I took one month of 50 mg clomid with no pregnancy. I took a break for a month and this month I took 100mg. No side effects other than bad mood. My hubby called it a med for instant bitch. For that reason I'm going to continue without clomid if not successful this month. Has anyone else had bad mood swings with clomid?

has anyone been harmed from buying their clomid outside of the US?
I have to say though prescribed drugs can do MORE harm. I see the women here do their research before taking the Clomid. My sister was PRESCRIBED wellbutrin un monitored by her doctor, did a worse number on her, she committed suicide on this PRESCRIBED drug!!

Renae,
I really only want one healthy child. I would not be devastated if there were two. Three really scares me. My main concern with multiples is their health. However I do have a friend at work who was a serrogate mother twice. She had triplets the first time that were born at 33 weeks. They are 3 yrs old now and healthy. (They family calls and sends her pictures. - she said that they were hospitalized 10 days, 12 days and 14 days before they were released from the NICU and they all weighed 4 lbs apiece.)
The second time she was a serrogate mother she had twins they were born at 37 weeks and weighed 6 lbs apiece.

I know these are isolated incidences and there are tons of multiples Mom's with horror stories

To babyloves2play:
When did the moodiness start?

stephanieW - February 24th, 2006 4:59 PM

Still not sure if I'll tell my doctor. I am pretty sure I won't say anything if it is just one baby and even if there is two however, I realize it is really rare but What if it is three??? Yikes how do you explain that?

renae - February 25th, 2006 4:44 AM

stephanie, i really would love to have more than one. Im not scared at all about having more than one because twins runs in my family and it's real fun being around my little 6 year old cousin. They both are girls and i have aunties who are twins and the don,t even look alike. My familty wants me to have a child of my own because im always raising other peoples children.I have one here now who i had since she wass born. She is three and her mother is my bestfriend. So now i want a child of my own and clomid was my first choice and im thrill to be taking them.

To the ladies that replied in this thread and and are acting like they are god and preaching to people about abusing clomid please take it somewhere else. I think everyone is tired of your constant whining. This nice lady wanted to celebrate the news of her having triplets and its disgusts me that all some of you do b**tch and more.. Sandiya I am happy for you and congrats! enjoy your pregnancy.

digging up the past is not good.

I have been reading these posts for some time now and have been hesitant to post because of the neg. backlash by even considering taking u/p clomid....

Is this thread even still active??

but...I finally have gotten up the nerve.
So here goes...I am a almost 32 yr old SAHM of three, two beautiful sons 10 yrs(8lb 8oz) (adhd, with many medical problems behind us!!) and 7 yrs (8lb 1oz)(developmentally delayed, once classified as special needs boy..not now..yippee!!). Our daughter was adopted ( we have custody) in our hearts 2 years ago at 7 mo. old from my neglectful sister. At the time when we got our lil girl we had been trying to conceive for 3 years with out any luck ( I had just received my u/p clomid 1 week before the phone call to come get her). I thought she would cure my yearning to be pregnant again...it did for awhile. Now it is back.... My mother and Grandmother both had serious gynecological (sp?) problems in their early thirties that made it necessary to have a hysterectomy before 35.
My hubby and I did discuss the possibilities of hom and while it is not our desire to have 3 or more we feel that with the drug clomid the risks are low by just upping our chances of having twins slightly. I feel that I might be prescribed the drug if I consulted a RE but I have learned that having taken Clomid can reduce or even eliminate your chances to be covered (for basic medical care) by certain medical insurance companies.
I would appreciate any input from anyone who would like to comment... My u/p expires in Feb 07 so I am considering taking it early next year...to get all our affairs in order before just in case we do get preg. with more than one.
