I do not know weather it's possible, or impossible-but If I were you-i'd offer to go to the next Ultrasound to "support her". If you are being told it's your baby-then it's your right to find out. and you can find out for yourself!!!!!
Then she will either tell you whats going on, or the Ultrasound technician will!!! Good luck

Blah, a lot of you have a lot to learn.
Mullerian anomalies occur in approximately 0.01-0.5% of women.
These anomalies can be very mild or very severe.
I have the most severe case. I have uterus didelphys which is indeed TWO complete uteri.
I am not a freak from the circus and did not know of this condition until my pregnancy last year.
The uterus can have as little as a "dent" in the fundus, one side could fail to form giving a unicornate uterus - sometimes with a communicating or non-communicating rudimentary horn.
the uterus could be septate that is ti say have a fibrous or muscular septum that may or may not reach right down to the cervix.
the uterus maybe be fused in the lower half but still have tow distinct cavities - bicornuate uterus, or as in my case no fusion at all has occured resulting in two individual uteris.
there are 7 classes of mullerian anomalies as detailed by the AFS.
these anomalies are caused by failure of one (or more) of three processes occuring in the development of the famle fetus in utero.
organogenisis, fusion and resoption.

Yes, sherrel some women on this site ARE being childish. Have you not seen all the comments? Some of them were so stupid I had to laugh. But yet some are not. I didnt say the all were just some of them. And no I am not here to argue. I am stating facts.

There is a condition/phenomenon called "vanishing twins" where the woman is actually pregnant with twins, only one embryo "takes" and the other one becomes enveloped in the developing fetus. Other than that, I think ovulation stops during pregnancy, hence no period, making another pregnany impossible during this time.

My sis-in-law has two septate uterus has two cavities, each cavitie has its own cervix and vagina. This is true she was suppose to be a twin.... She's 3 and half months pregnant right now and has had 3 children already each 9lbs, the only problem she has is that she doesn't go into labor she's had to have a date for everyone of her kids to be taken out. It's possible to get pregnant when your already pregnant. half of my family have had periods the whole time they are pregnant....

Ok. Oddly enough, I went to High School with twin girls who were conceived this way. "Pam and Brenda' were very different looking, and very very different in size/height. Apparently, mom conceived Brenda (the bigger one) first, and for some freakish reason, ovulated 2 to 3 months into the pregnancy and conceived Pam. I don't think they realized this until after the girls were born, because when mom went into labor (Brenda was term) the first-conceived girl came out term and healthy, but Pam was "premature", underdeveloped lungs, etc. They determined no twin transfusion syndrome... and attributed it to this weird phenomenon where their mom got pregnant... again... with a second child... while already being 2 months pregnant with the first. Strange but true. They were great girls. Both very smart and involved in student council, I remember.

Just to follow up on Pam and Brenda, the two girls with whom I attended High School who proclaimed that they were conceived in this manner, and not "reallly twins", though they had the same birthdate/mother, I have no idea if their mother had the 2-uterus condition. You can even have "Polar body" twins, in which the egg separates BEFORE fertilization, resulting in two-eggs-that-were-once-one getting fertilized by two different sperm, and twins that have the same maternal genetic code but different paternal (different sperm) codes. This may account for why, I was told, my frat girls looked so much alike, and seemed to share a placenta (though it may have been 2 that fused). Point is, LIFE.... nature.... is freakish and amazing in itself.

It is possible but EXTREMELY rare. Funny how so many people on one board could have it happen to them....

Superfetation - The development of a second fetus when one is already present in the uterus. It occurs when a women ovulates more than one egg but the eggs are released at different times, sometimes up to 24 days apart, and they are fertilized when they are released. The resulting twins would have different conception dates, so the babies may be very different in size and have different due dates. A woman can also conceive twins at different times when a woman conceives via IVF and also conceives naturally around the same time.

Superfetation can be detected via ultrasound. Many cases are discovered due to the large differences in weight and size of the babies, and the exclusion of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. Superfetation is a fairly rare occurence in humans (naturally), and only occurs when the mother has two uteri, or the menstrual cycle continues during pregnancy.

No i don't think so because once the female is pregnant her body is no loger releasing eggs.

if you have 2 uteruses it is possible to get pregnant, but that condition is VERY VERY rare... so dont count on it.
