are you really serious ?

FYI - January 14th, 2006 11:25 PM

In a small percentage of cycles, two or more eggs are released during ovulation, but always within a 24-hour period. This phenomenonm called multiple ovulation, is responsible for fraternal twins. The reason that more eggs cannot be released later that cycle is due to the powerful effects of progesterone. Progesterone quickly stops the release of all other eggs until the next cycle. So a woman could not release an egg one day, get pregnant, then release an egg again weeks or months later. Her body protects that potential pregnancy by preventing her from being able to release more eggs following ovulation.

Congrats Tammy! Twins is awesome. Yes it's all true, my family seem to get everything weird under the sun! I seem to have my share of 'abnormalities' that's for sure. It hasn't stood in the way of getting pregnant four times, two m/c, but this time it's taken 8 months and am getting worried. I O'd two days ago and bded and I feel soooo sick today, after concieving my second son I vomitted the whole day after so I knew. Fingers crossed this month.

baby d/ - January 26th, 2006 4:30 PM

i would like to know why pregnancy last up to 11 months

lburns91 - January 26th, 2006 4:36 PM

I have a bicornate uterus and have had many comlications in the past. After my 3rd miscarriage i found out about this. My OB ( a high risk specialists) had informed me that If i wasnt carefull i could have a double pregnancy. The baby is in the left side therefore i could get pregnant again in my right side.. give birth and a couple months later give birth again.. IT IS POSSIBLE . I have done my research

A lady I know has twin girls. It is very rare but it is possible. She got preganant with one daughter and 2 months later she became pregant with her other daughter. One of her daughters was premature. So Whoever is telling you it isn't possible have them explain this....because the my friend had allot of doctor confirm it and her daughters are 15 now

meldub2784 - February 20th, 2006 9:12 PM

briansmomplustwo - March 5th, 2006 11:05 AM

Yes-its possible. What happens is--she wil deliver the 1st baby and then 3 months later, deliver YOUR Baby. You never heard of that?
