There are few studies performed that can truly support whether a higher dosage of Clomid can result in twins/multiples. There are also no studies that show if one gender prevailed over the other when conceived with the aid of Clomid. If you took Clomid, please let me your dosage amount, if singleton or multiple and they were boy(s) or girl(s).

well, the sperm determine the gender, not the eggs. I can't see how Clomid would influence the sex either way. And as far as dosage goes... I did not take Clomid but the dosage should be determined by a doctor only.

yeah if anyone took higher dosages (like i am taking 150mg) it is because the doctors saw no reaction from the ovaries and ultrasounds proved that there was no hyperstimulation going on. if you take a high dosage ignorantly, you are risking your life. not saying you personally, but you as in anyone.

Good point about the sperm determining the gender; however I seem to have read that girls prevailed, but I do not think the doctors knew why. So I was just wondering if clomid could somehow help regulate other hormones so that it could (in addition to stimulating follicle growth) increase mucus quality and amount, extend egg life longer than 12 hours, etc so that it would eventually making it easier to concieve. Since some say that female sperm are heartier maybe that why there are more girls. As far as the dosage I am just curious at what dosage did the doctors put you (the responder) on and if you happen to concieve a singleton or multiples. Like I said noone has done a study to see if a higher dosage increases chances of multiples. Please do not misunderstand, I am not in any way condoning that someone take more than prescribed just to concieve multiples. I am just curious because I can not find any studies that claim to have gathered this type of info and I want to know if my odds will increase because I am on prescribed 100 mg. So if anyone wants to share I appreciate your info. Thanks...

Hey there. I was on my first cycle of clomid, 100mg cd's 5-9. Singleton and girl. I am now 39 weeks. haha I just wanted to answer the actual question here. Also I have heard that (dont know if it holds any truth) that the acidic environment of a womans vagina can cause female sperm to have a better chance of getting through then the male and vice versa. That being said I had no EWCM at all when TTC. It was just watery. With clomid alot of women will "dry out" So while yes the sperm is what decides hamburger or turtle, the clomid may actually impact which sex has a better chance. JMO. Carry on! haha P.S. TEDDY!!! How are you doing!? Havent heard from you in a while. :)

Not sure how true it is but I have heard that sperm carrying the x chromosome lives a lot longer and the sperm carrying the y chromosome swims faster. So, if you are ovulating right at the time where the sperm can reach the egg right away, you have a good chance for a boy. If you ovulate a bit later after sex, chances are higher for a girl because more of those are hanging around waiting.
