Possible Twin Undetected? Help!

I am 5 weeks 3 days pregnant for the first time. I have been on Follistim (fertility med) & had IUI. I went in for my 1st Ultrasound exactly 5 weeks pregnant because my HcG levels have been extremely high & my Dr thought I was carrying mulitiples. Only 1 sac was spotted and we were praying that 2 would have been seen. Is it possible that they could have missed seeing the second sac? Has this ever happened to anyone? Can twins be later detected in my ultrasound next week?
