hmm. do u know the name of that testing. cuz i go to my obgyn dec 21 i will be 11 weeks 6 days. & at this time i need to tell if i want these testings; i know they cost extra. but i want to know the name so i can talk about it.

Helen Gaunt - November 26th, 2007 4:23 PM

I just know the testing as 'The downsyndrome test'. That's what my OB asked me if I wanted when he asked me. I think mine was medicare too, don't think it cost me a cent. Your OB will know what you are talking about when you ask to be tested for downsyndrome. It's prob something she will ask you anyway. Although depending on age some don't. I am 29 so my OB asked, I think the risk gets higher as you get older.

I am 15 weeks pregnant with twins naturally and this came after 7 years of being told I would never have any more children due to PCOS. It was a complete suprise to find out I was pregnant and an even bigger one to find there were two. I am still in shock but my husband is very supportive so I feel lucky but I think the scared feeling is normal and probably won't go away. I had my daughter 7 years ago and still worry about her till this day but she is the greatest thing that ever happened to me and I'm sure these two will be a blessing in disguise as well. Good luck to everyone and congrats!

I'm a little late on this chat but I'm 21 and I'm having twins I'm 15 weeks right now and I look like I'm 5 or 6 months and my babys dad is a loser i hate him. but I didn't start hating him until i was pregnant.. Is this a problem for anyone else?

Mom-of-7 - April 3rd, 2008 10:01 PM

I am expecting fraternal twins naturally. I am 13 weeks.
I already have five children, so my chances go up with more babies I was told and I am only 32.
I also read it is about a 15 in 1000 chance naturally at my age, so I guess I won the lottery!

I was shocked too and cried at the ultrasound, but now I am getting excited. It will be Ok ladies. Go to aol video and watch some baby twin videos. It will melt you.
It will be hard at first, but once they get older easier because they keep each other company. I have a big family and it is easier now than when I had one little one who needed me all the time. Siblings go to each other, especially twins. Go has blessed you both!

I had twin girls 9 days ago. They were in seperate sacs with a placenta of their own. They are very alike but we can tell them apart. It has been a challenge so far as we already have a 4 year old boy and a 3 year old girl but we are also just so proud of our little family that it all seems worth it. I gave birth naturally, we were lucky enough to have both twins come head first and have a very uncomplicated labour and birth. I came home after just 3 days in hospital. If you can do it naturally it is definately the way to go. Bouncing back quickly is a must with twins.....they are hard work.

I am 28yrs old and preg with my first set of monozygotic twins Conceived naturally. I am 7 weeks 4 days along and due the 17th of Nov. I have had 8 pregnancys 5 living children. I am scared and yet excited.

Helen Gaunt - April 4th, 2008 5:00 PM

Leondra,

Congrats, it is such an exciting time being pregnant with twins. Beleive me I know exactly what you are feeling. I miscarried 2 years before giving birth to my twin girls last week and I paniced all the way throught my pregnancy. I had convinced myself that if it could happen with a single pregnancy then the chances would be even higher with a twin pregnancy. But......as it turned out, I made it to 38 weeks and had not 1 complication during the pregnancy and the labour/birth. I think that some things are just meant to be. We got 2 this time because we lost our last one....that's how I like to think of it. This could just be your gift for all the heartbreak you have obviously had to endure. Don't stress too much because it is a gift and you should cherish every moment. Most women never get to experience a twin pregnancy, I feel very lucky even when I am up at night with 2 screaming babies. They were worth the wait and the worry. Good luck!!

I was surprised and very exited about twins (naturally) we have one 3 year old girl and now expecting boy/girl twins. I am still kind of shocked as it is not in our families but think it will be a wonderful addition to the family. i too was shocked at how many people have multiples due to fertility treatments but they knew the risk of multiples and i hope they are also exited with the result. twins will be fun.
