Hi gals, hope you are all doing ok and getting ready to give it a go? I, myself started taking Fertomid 25mg a few days ago. I am today (Sat) on CD6 and day 3 taking Fertomid.
I haven't had any symptoms as yet. I got some slight dizziness on day 1 & 2 of taking it and nothing much today. I am taking a low dosage so maybe that could be the reason for this. I must admit a part of me is thinking that maybe it won't work this month due to the low dosage, but am praying this won't be the case. I am taking on days 5-9 to achive a healthy egg ( a part of me hopes for it to turn into a double, but I will be happy if I am only blessed with one). As my age is a concern and I have a health issue this could very well be my last pregnancy (have already had two sections).

Julix, because of my health issue temping wont work for me, so other than opk's and the vitamins i'm taking I don't have any other help. I read your list of what you will be doing, and you seem to have thought of everything to control your cycle to achive pregnancy. It looks great to me! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly for you. Please keep us updated as soon as you start taking your clomid.

Hopeful4two, I too wish there was a chart giving us the right info about what, when and how long to take it. Although reading some stories ( I don't know that they are acurate in anyway) there seems to be a pattern of the earlier it's taken the more eggs are produced. Therefore, going on your hopes to have two, you would be right in starting on day 2.

Hearthope, I hope you enjoyed your few days off, sometimes it's so important to just get away for a few days. My cousin was pregnant with twins a few years ago, I think she lost the babies at around 20 weeks in March. She was pregnant again by August of the same year and went onto having a healthy baby. I know it's easy for me to say as I haven't been through it, but just because it happened once, it doesn't mean it will happen again. I think you should wait till you are comfortable with starting, there is no hard rule, just when you feel ready.

I'm wishing all you ladies lots of luck and babydust in the hope that we will all concieve our baby/babies very very soon!

Remember to keep us all updated!

Hi girls, I always get so happy after I read what you have to say to help each other. I also think as you Julix, that when we wish something so much and think positive as a group we can have so much more ways to get whatever we want. Tks for let me know that the time to wait untill try to get pg again depends of my emotional healing. I feel great about my body but I just finished my third and last round of depress pills last week. I want to wait this month and will take it in november waiting to have good news in december by christmans. I hope we all have good news to each other still this year.

Julix - October 27th, 2008 2:45 PM

hearthope - We are all here for each other! When I hear of someone getting a bfp I can’t help but think “Yeah! We received another blessing!” I think in terms of “we” because that’s how I feel and you are absolutely right; each one of our successes makes our whole group successful! I do believe if we stock together, every single one of us will be blessed and will have our little bundle of joy! Lots of baby dust to all!!!

hearthope - October 27th, 2008 4:20 PM

I am totally agree with you Julix! We will for sure get blessed with one or two or maybe 3 but we will. God knows it. I was talking to my husband and he doesnt think that I will ever get pg of twins again. He thinks that this is impossible because I did already and even with clomid it wont happen. Do you know something about it? Can somebody tell me if this is more to NO or to YES!!!!

aprilmac - October 29th, 2008 4:25 AM

Well ladies, I finished taking my 5 days of Fertomid on monday, the dizziness and nausea seems to have gone, but I have noticed that I am peeing in large volumes and it seems to be darker in colour, have been since the weekend. It does list this as one of the symtoms. I am today starting to test with ovulation kits to detect my LH surge. I'm expecting this to happen sat/sun this weekend.

At the moment, I feel scared that this may not work, in my head I have decided that it should work, not sure what I'll do if it doesn't. I'm just anxious, I guess. I really do appreciate each one of you for your support.

How have ladies been this last couple of days?

hearthope - October 29th, 2008 6:45 PM

Hey aprilmac, I will be praying for you. It is going to work good for you and you will get pg soon. Dont get scared. I'm wishing all you lots of luck and babydust in the hope that we will all concieve our baby/babies very very soon!

Julix - October 31st, 2008 2:09 PM

Hey girls! Quick update: cd8 today. No s/e from Clomid! It makes me wonder if it's working. I'm feeling a little bloated but that is normal for me around this time of my cycle... Started Mucinex and Baby Aspiring yesterdat cd7. Wearing OV-Watch, temping and watching cm to check o. Any updates???
aprilmac and hearthope - How have you two been? I'm thinking of you and sending lots of baby dust!!!

aprilmac - October 31st, 2008 9:22 PM

Hey ladies, I've been busy the last day or so. I'm doing ok, just waiting to O. If the fertomid does as it is suppose to do, I should be ovulating at some point this weekend or the latest by monday. I've been testing with the Ovulation strips these couple of days. As I expected, the control line on the tests are showing up very very faint/light, let alone how undetectable the test line will be once ovulation arrives. Had a few twinge pains on the side of my right ovary tonight, it could be nothing, but I guess I'm noticing everything right now. We BD last night, will give it a miss tonight and go again tomorrow and lastly on monday night. The only thing I have at the moment is slightly sensitive boobs.

Julix, I, very much like you, are questioning if the Fertomid is working. I've started to think that getting an OV watch might be a good way to go, a little late now, but if it doesn't work this cycle, I might get one for the next.

Hearthope, how are you feeling about starting next cycle, have you finished taking your meds? How do you feel coming off them now?

I am keeping all crossed for us all girlies, I hope our turn in the pregnancy queue is next! Babydust to you all.

hearthope - November 1st, 2008 11:54 PM

Hi aprilmac, I did finished my meds, I feel good a litle scared sometimes, but good. I am getting so excited to the next month. Sometimes I just want to start taking the clomid right now. How are you feeling alprilmac? how about you julix?

beckylynn - November 2nd, 2008 9:48 AM

What did you tell your doctors about your multiples? Were they at all suspicious? I have unexplained secondary infertility and because I have three kids my doctor won't do anything. Mt husband and I want at least 1 more. I resigned my full time position at the bank to devote more time to my family and my health, but. Now nothing! We have never had fertility problems. My 3 kids were born on 3 types of birth control. Now that we are prepared finantially and emotionally we can't have more if we try! I ordered clomid and have received it but don't know what I would tell my doctor if I all the sudden was pregnant with triplets! Can they tell if there are fertility drugs in your system? Please help!

MommaR - November 2nd, 2008 7:06 PM

from what ive read, clomid is out of your sysem in like 2 mnths but the doctors have to do a specific blood test to find it and apparently it's hard to trace. Your chanes of multiples increase with the more children you have and since you already have 3, your doc may not suspect anything.
I'm goingto try 150mg of soy isoflavones for a few cycles for the sam reason ... then i might go to the clomid, if it doesn't work. I already have 2 healthy boys (born weighing about 9 lbs each.. not twins... 2 years and 4 months).
It drives me crazy when people criticise us for wanting multiples when our body can handle getting pregnant on its own.To me, it's it MORE risky making a woman pregnant, who cannot get pregnant on her own and then chancing multiples... it doesn't make sense. GL

hearthope - November 2nd, 2008 10:28 PM

Hi MommaR, I am trying to hide the clomid from my doctor, I dont want him to know that I took it but when you say that its hard to trace it, that means that he will find out? I am planing to go to see my doctor after 8 weeks when I find out that Im pg. So, do you think that after 8 weeks and after the regular blood test they always do, he will know? If you can tell me how it works I will be happy to hear something from you. I'll take mine this month on cd5 to cd9.

MommaR - November 2nd, 2008 11:03 PM

Hi HeartHopes..
I don't remember where I read it but for some reason I think it stays in the system for like 2 months. But then I read...
"Relax, you will NOT be tested for the clomid in your system. Test for clomid is not routinely available in labs and is only done for research purposes. Either way there would be no justification for your Obs-Gyn to test for clomid in blood just because she thinks you should not have taken it. None of the routine test (prenatal or not) will show clomid if present in blood."

Got that from medical dot just answers dot com / questions / ttf9-long-clomid-stay-detectable.

And if I do get multiples, I just plan on saying something like "Oh crap... they must be identical because I have no history of twins" and act realy shocked... and go on to ask if it was something that I ate or something that made it happen. LOL.

Hope that helps. Where did you get your Clomid and how long did it take to arrive? I'm just trying to induce AF because I'm still nuring my 4 month old son so I'm starting with Soy Isoflavones 150 mg and if that doesn't work... I'm going with the Clomid (generic, of course)

beckylynn - November 3rd, 2008 11:49 AM

Something I ate! LOL! I like that! What if there are six? That is what I am afraid of! I don't think my Dr would buy it!

aprilmac - November 3rd, 2008 11:56 AM

Hello again ladies, I hope you are all doing well & welcome to MommaR & Beckylyn. I've been reading some more about detecting clomid, and as I mentioned before (and as MommaR said) it is undetectable unless looking for it and special test is done for it. I did however read that it is detectable in the feces (poo) during an analasys, but you really do have to be looking for it.

Beckylynn, There are a few other factors, a friend of mine had 3 children, then had another baby. Following this she concieved again when the baby was 3 months old and got twins (2 eggs). Although not impossible, you are more likely to concieve non identical twins, as taking the clomid will produce more eggs. Then again, if your age is nearer 40 and you are over weight, your eggs have more of a chance of splitting into 2 giving you identicals. Potentially, you could produce two eggs with one turning into twins and giving you triplets. Good luck, I hope you get your wish.

MommaR, it's great to have you hear, sounds like you've really done your homework! Glad you could share your info with us all. I hope the Isoflavones work for you, if not then at least you still have the clomid to rely on.

Hearthope, Glad to hear you are feeling good, and can't wait to get going with the clomid. I too felt a little scared on the first couple of days, but then you get used to it and the fear fades, I'm sure it will with you too. Wishing you a early Christmas pressie from the HPT!

This is cycle #34 for us, we already have 2 kids. This will probably be my last pregnancy due to my age (nearly 40) and a health issue I have. Not even sure if my body will take another pregnancy yet, but I'm going to give it a good go before giving up. I've taken Fertomid 25mg days 5-9 this cycle and I should have either just ovulated or about to. Have been feeling nausea these last few days, but don't think it's to do with the Fertomid. Am going to be BD tonight just to cover my bases then start the dreaded two week wait.

Wishing you all Good Luck and success with your cycles, please keep us updated with symptoms and results.

beckylynn - November 3rd, 2008 12:17 PM

I'm 27 and recently became overweight, not obese though. I'm a recovering bulimic anorexic and am now healthier than I ever have been! My husband helped me through this last battle in a way my parents never wanted to. I'm confident I can cope with my stress now and just want to finish starting my family. I resigned my position at the bank to reduce stress and make my family a priority. My body just doesn't want to cooperate with me! I heard clomid will increase odds of twins by 10 percent, triplets by 3. Does that mean I have about a 13 percent chance of multiples or 20 because I had a higher chance to begin with? And how would I know if 10 eggs were released vrs 2 or 1? Is it true that starting on day 2 or 3 increases the number of eggs?
