I'm 27 and recently became overweight, not obese though. I'm a recovering bulimic anorexic and am now healthier than I ever have been! My husband helped me through this last battle in a way my parents never wanted to. I'm confident I can cope with my stress now and just want to finish starting my family. I resigned my position at the bank to reduce stress and make my family a priority. My body just doesn't want to cooperate with me! I heard clomid will increase odds of twins by 10 percent, triplets by 3. Does that mean I have about a 13 percent chance of multiples or 20 because I had a higher chance to begin with? And how would I know if 10 eggs were released vrs 2 or 1? Is it true that starting on day 2 or 3 increases the number of eggs?

Beckylynn, it sounds like you have done really well with your struggles on your health issues, and how wonderful that your husband has helped you through it. From what I've read it's hard to estimate what your body will do when you take clomid, especially if you havent taken it before. I have read that those that are monitered through clomid cycles usually get ultrasounds done during expected ovulation to determine how many eggs your body has produced. I'm not sure where you live or how much it would cost, but that may be an idea to give you a better accuracy on the number of eggs your body would have with clomid. Have you researched into some side effects? you need to be aware of some side effects and Over Hyper Stimulation Syndrome on your ovaries, if clomid over stimulates, it could give you severe problems and they could very easily tell that you've been using clomid, I think this is because OHSS does not happen unless fertility drugs are taken. As you have a secondary infertility issue it may not effect you in the same way, but it would be unknown until you take it. Yes, I believe that the earlier you take the clomid, it is said to produce more eggs, but the amount will depend on each and every womans body. I have read that in some women clomid doesn't even work at all. How long have you been TTC #4? have you tried Ovulation predictor kits? do you get an LH surge with them? OV watch? have you temped? I'll check back later

Hi everyone:

Finished my last dose of clomid 50mg on Saturday 11/1, took my 1st OPK today- negative!
I did days 3-7. Hardly had any side affects, which surprised me cuz I have terrible pms, I mean everything to the max!
I'm worried that the 50mg didn't work.
What has everyone else experienced? Thanks for listening.

#3 was born using rhythm method birth control so I know how that works, although I did get pregnant so maybe I missed something! We've been ttc for about a year. I did get a positive a few months ago, but a few days later I got a visit from AF. I would go to get monitored but I'm not sure how If go about it. I'm pretty sure saying I'm going to take illegal clomid so would you please give me a us won't go over well in small town Iowa! I'm so glad I found this sight though, you ladies are great! Everywhere else you go your questions are attacked with insults! I have gotten so many questions answered here. I have researched OHSS. Many people get ovarian cysts, how would a Dr know I wasn't just getting a terrible cyst on my own?

Silly question- What is an ov watch?

hearthope - November 3rd, 2008 8:21 PM

Hi MonmaR, first thaks for help me with my question. Second, you asked me about how did I get my clomid, so... let me tell you a little about me... I got my clomid w/p in february and when I was going to take, I found out that I was pg and later I knew that it was of twins. So, I have one round of clomid 50mg left at home and also, I still can take a refil until next february. I had a early laber in july and my 2 boys even with life, didnt make it after a few minutes. So, thats why I dont think my dc will be happy if he knows that I took clomid trying to have twins again. And I really dont want him to know. I guess I will have to wait 8 weekes after I know that I'm pr and go to see him. My heart still crys a lot, but I want to try get pg again. I cant wait for one or two babies. Now I dont know if you or anyone can help me if this question... because I have twins on my mother's side and because I alredy got pg of twins naturaly, do you think that I have good chances to have twins again or triples? I already did ask this here but nobody did answer me.

Aprilmac, how are you feeling? I hope good. I hope you can have a very happy good news for christmas.

Becklynn, welcome!!! we are here to really help each other. I hope you can find your answers just like Im finding mines. I love this site!

hope41, I still didnt get my clomid 50mg so I dont know exactly what to tell you but I am sure the girls here will help you. Good Luck girl.

MommaR - November 3rd, 2008 10:56 PM

HeartHope-
I Think there is a very high chance that you will get twins again... it's a gene inherited from the mother's side and with the help of clomid, i'd say your chances are really high. I am so sorry about your boys! I can't imagine! Prayers for you! I'm really hesitant to buy u/p clomid. I found a place $30 for 30 at 50mg. Pretty cheap but I don't want my uterus to explode or something from bad pills..... erg! So.. just praying these Soy Isoflavones work to induce my period. Then I'm going to wait a few cycles, then take 150mg soy and hope it causes hyperovulation! I have 2 boys..i want 6. i hate being pregnant, so if I could get 2 done in one shot, that would be such a blessing, not to mention the joys twins would bring. And I'm 5'10, so I've got the frame to handle it! you can email me if you want.... missyslair at yahoo dot com Let me know how you are doing!

hearthope - November 7th, 2008 4:20 PM

I love being pg MommaR for me it was so easy. Maybe because wanst that long, I had the early laber on my 21th week but I never had any problem. No morning sickness or anything. I hope my next could be in the same way. So, I do think too that I have a higer chance to have twins again. I will try clomid just 3 months and if I dont get pg I wont try clomid anymore, I will see my dc.

Tamika27 - November 10th, 2008 10:36 PM

I am doing research on clomid and can not find any good sites on it. and second I was wondering if this sounds fimiliar to anyone. I am really really trying to do the reaseach before using clomid and someone told me that you need to take two other meds along with some cream so that your vaja is not hostle. but for the life of me I can not remember what it was. if anyone knows and good sites or knows what the hell i am trying to talk about please let me know. thanx

hearthope - November 18th, 2008 1:33 PM

Hi Tamika, my old doctor told me to take clomid 5 to 9 because I wanst regular. My ciclo was 45 days. So if you dont have any long ciclo I think you did right taking on your first day. How was that? Tell me about the side effects.

hearthope - November 18th, 2008 1:57 PM

Well awall my dc didnt say anything about take any other meds before the clomid but I guess it can be diferent to anyone. So I hope you find your answer.

MommaR - November 18th, 2008 2:31 PM

Its Progesterone Cream and I think you rub it on your thighs. It's suppose to help maintain the pregnancy and keep from miscarrying early on. Hope that helps!

aprilmac - November 22nd, 2008 9:21 AM

Hello Ladies,

How are you all doing? Well I hope! I'm not doing so good. Last month did not work for me and I got AF 16th Nov. I decided to give the Fertomid another go this month and am currently on CD7 of my cycle and day 4 of taking Fertomid. I am also not well at the moment, I seemed to have caught a cold/flu as well as a chest infection so am on antibiotics too. It's our wedding Aniversary next week, so hopefully our extra efforts in the bedroom will work this month.

How have you girlies been keeping? do we have any good news to share? I really need to hear some positive outcomes to change my mood, all this TTC is starting to get to me. Also, I'm visiting my friend at the weekend whose just had twins!

Babydust and Good Luck to all XXX

Beckylynn, I'm so sorry for not replying sooner. An OV watch, is a watch worn on the wrist. When you are about to or are ovulating it shows on the dial. A little similar to Ovulations strips but a lot easier to use and (from what I have read) more accurate. How are you doing by the way?

hearthope - November 24th, 2008 10:44 AM

Hi girls, I will start my clomid cd5-cd9 this weekend. Im so happy, cant wait!!! How are you ladies doing? And you hope41? Tell me about your side affects, please. Aprilmac dont be sad next time it will work. I met a friend yesterday that has twins girls, they are 3 years old. She is pg again and guess what? of twins again. She is so scared. it made me think that maybe I will really get pg of twins again and special with the clomid's help.
