I wanted to start with 100 mg but everything I have read says to start with 50 mg...I also heard that taking it days 1-5 or 2-6 increases chances of multiples. but i still stuck with 3-7 cause its in between....i dont want 3-4-5 children at once. i also was scared about side effects and all i have had is just some ticking tingling sensation in ovary area...kinda weird!!! Anyway, tomorrow is day 5 of clomid and cd7 so one week to go until O!!!!

Lew - October 27th, 2005 8:55 PM

That is great! Maybe the tingling is signs that there are eggs maturing and getting ready! God Luck! I too plan on doing day 3-7 for same reasons you are. I don't want to risk earlier for fear of premature eggs. I'm still going back and forth on the whole 50 or 100 though. I will do more research as well about my specific question/concern. I am so excited for you and can't wait 'til I can start! So you aren't experiencing any weird side effects then...that is good news:)

Lynn - October 27th, 2005 9:09 PM

I know...I had warned my dh that I might be moody, have hot flashes etc. and now nothing...which is GREAT! I have never had the tingling...but its like someone is tickling you from inside your body....its ssoooooo weird but thats fine...at least its a sign somethings going on!!!! I have one week until o but plan to start bding every other day starting cd9. dh glad about that lol! Anyway, hopefully by thanksgiving we will have a BFP...keep me updated on how much and when you start taking clomid. I would love to compare notes! Lots of baby dust for everyone!!!!!

Lew - October 27th, 2005 10:25 PM

Well... I am pooped today and heading to bed...Lynn have a blast with the bd part...all males think alike, huh:) My hubby can't wait for that part as well;). I think I am going to go ahead with the 100 and I will check in to see how you are doing....best of luck and lots of baby dust your way for your wish! I hope to start my clomid by Nov 8th, but it could be as late as Nov 11 and that is only if clomid arrives before the 21 day (10 to 21 days to get to me):( I do have some extra bcp if I need to prolong the AF until the 23rd, but I am so impatient...I know I am such a stinker! I can't wait to see how it goes for you and your cycle Lynn!!!!!! Best of luck!!!!

Lew - October 28th, 2005 2:49 PM

Oh CRAP!!!!!! How can I be so stupid? I forgot to take my bcp today and started my period...then when i went to check my bcp and take a pill (It would be just 4 hours late...is what I thought) I found that I had forgotten to take my bcp yesterday as well! Crap! I have NEVER been this forgetful, and never have I ever forgotten to take the pill (in my past I used it a lot...for many years!) I am so dang upset about this! I know...I need to chill out...it's not the end of the world...just messed up my plans! I wont even have the clomid in time! I took both bcp's that I missed just a bit ago...do you think that will keep me from ovulating...could AF just be the lining? Any comforting thoughts???????I have never missed bcp and so I don't know what to expect...I was having closer together cycles (21 days) and longer and heavier flow due to the dang perimenopause which is why I got on the dang bcp and I was just wanting to go right to the clomid and don't have it!!!! ugh!!!!!!...ok...I will stop with the pitty party and the "freak out" session now.

Lynn - October 28th, 2005 8:33 PM

It should be ok if you just missed one pill...I have done that before and af still arrived on time. But I have never started bleeding after missing one or two pills though!

mama-beans - October 28th, 2005 8:51 PM

when I was preventing pregnancy with BCP ( ha ha..) my doc said not to worry about missing pills unless you miss more then 2.. so missing 2 and taking them when you remember should be fine. What you are getting is not a period, it is a psudo-period... your body shedding lining. It will not effect your ovulation for NEXT cycle, as long as you continue on with your pills as normal.

Lew - October 29th, 2005 12:58 AM

Hey thanks...I did some reading on it and also called the gyn and the nurse told me to double up on the pills for the next few days to try to get the bleeding to stop, but wouldn't say for sure if it would or if I would ovulate or not). It has slowed down, so I think taking both bcp's today, even though a little later in the day, is helping. Tomorrow I will try two bcp's again and then hopefully be able to return to normal until cycle time is really supose to start.
Thanks! Good luck Lynn...today is day 7 right? did the cd3-7 go all right with no bad side effects? Lots of baby dust your way! Keep us all posted!:)

Lynn - October 29th, 2005 1:37 PM

Hey everyone,, today is cd 8 for me and off of clomid..now taking 600 mg of
guaifenesin a day, (just in case clomid causes hostile cm) until I ovulate. So far no bad sad effects from clomid...I wonder if ovulating will hurt or not though...I usually feel when I ovulate so I hope its not to bad....we still have to be able to bd ya know!!!!! I also have bought the pre-seed and am going to start using it....I know..I am very impatient and want to be pregnant quick :)

Lew - October 30th, 2005 3:11 PM

Good Luck Lynn! Keep us posted!

Hi all. I have a few questions for you since you all seem well versed on this. First I have a daughter and I want to have more kids but I HATE being pregnant. Therefore my partner and I would love to have multiples this time (preferably twins... LOL) since I don't want to do pregnancy again after this. My first question is how do you order unprescribed Clomid and how much will it cost? Then how do you know when to take it? I see all of these abbreviations but I don't know what they mean. How many cycles can you safely take it for? (I'm very fertile anyway as I got pregnant with my daughter first month trying.) Any information would be helpful as I haven't made any decisions yet but would like to be well informed. Thanks all and best wishes!!!
Sara

Lynn - October 30th, 2005 8:33 PM

Hi sara. I am also fertile myrtle but this is my first month taking unprescribed clomid 50 mgdays 3-7counting day one is your period..
af---aunt flow...your period
cm---cervical mucus
o---ovulate
I also am hoping for twins but will be happy if baby or babies is healthy. I got pregnant first time with twins(identical) first month off bcp..then one week after d & c got pregnant again and now have a 17 month old daughter.
dh---dear husband I know that there are risks with clomid, so i decided to go with lowest dose first which is 50 mg. I bought mine off mexmeds4you.com and it arrived in about 8 business days. It cost 42 dollars for 30 pills, which there is no way on earth I am going to take near that many!!! I have read many different places where they say that the earlier you take clomid in your cycle you get more follicles but not great quality...later in cycle less follicles but better quality...so thats why i decided to stay in the middle with days 3-7. others have taken them 1-5. 2-6. or 5-9. I am also doing bbt...basal body temp. and am using ovulation predictor kits...opk...and preseed which is a sperm friendly lubricant..since ky etc not so sperm friendly and one of the many side effects of clomid is hostile cm. Anyway, alot of people disagree with me for taking unprescribed clomid, but as I see it its every individuals preference and her body. This is just my opinion...please be sure to research clomid very well before taking it also pregnancy.org has a bulletin that is just clomid stuff Hope this helps ya some!!! Good luck and lots of baby dust your way!!!!

Lynn - October 30th, 2005 8:36 PM

oh yeah, lots of women have side effects like hot flashes, moodiness, abdominal pain around o time. They say not to take it for more than 6 cycles, but I think my limit will prob be 2. :)

Lew - October 30th, 2005 10:16 PM

Hi Sara, Yep... I plan on taking clomid as soon as I am done with my bcp and start a new cycle. I messed up by not taking my bcp, but got caught up on my dose and I am bleeding out of cycle time. Hopefully continuing taking my bcp will stop me from ovulating until my "true" cycle time, as I am waiting for my clomid to arrive in the mail. I too have been fertile mertle but am unsure due to my periods being out of wack for the past 3 1/2 yrs. (that is why I did a little bcp to try to get my cycles on a routine. I am in the pre-menopause stage) WAY TOO EARLY! So I am not sure if I will be as fertile as I was in the past. I have other issues for why I am going to go ahead and try the clomid as well... but one common reason is it would be nice if I could have two at once since my clock is ticking and my dh and I want at least two more children (have two kids all ready-naturally and with no problem). Once or more...I will be thrilled and as always wish for healthy strong baby/babies. Definately do your home work on the pros and cons of clomid and make an informed decision! Best of luck to you!!!

Lew - October 31st, 2005 3:11 PM

Lynn, how long after your payment for the clomid hit your acct (bank, credit, etc) did you get it in the mail? Thanks...just being impatient and all:)

Lynn - October 31st, 2005 8:55 PM

It took about 3 or 4 business days before it came out of checking account
