my husband and i have twins on both sides of our family, his mother is an identical twin and there are three other sets of twins among her sibblings (she has 16 sibblings total). my grandmother had twins also. We have a 3 year old together and we are expecting aroung may of 2008. i was 23 when i had my daughter and i'm now 26 and i've heard that the older you are the more likely it is to have multiples. So does anyone know if i would be more likely to have multiples this time around?

Since it runs in your family your risk of multiples is slightly increased, at 26 I don't think the age factor really comes into play. From what I've heard that really refers to women over 35. Have you had an ultrasound yet?

Yep, woman over 35 are at higher risk. Twins running on your side would increase it a bit (your DH won't help with it) but it only increases it from 1-3% to 3-5%. Identical twins are a 1 in 250 chance and that is for everyone.
