Hello ladies, i am just curious if you are more likley to give birth to twin/triplet boys or girls when using clomid?could you please tell me the sex of your twins, the dose of clomid you were on when you concieved them, and the days you took clomid on? also if you have other babies their sex?
I hope to start clomid soon, due to thyroid problems, and was interested if clomid affected the likelyhood of a certain sex baby?
thanks and baby dust to all trying xxxxx

Let's see, my first (a singleton) was concieved on 100 mg. Clomid days 5-9 and is a girl. We lost our second pregnancy which was concieved at 150 mg. days 5-9. Our twins were concieved at 150 mg. days 5-9 and are boy/girl. For me, I was happy with whatever I was blessed with.

Clomid will not help influence the sex of the baby. What you can do is have sex as close to the O time as possible for boys or a few days before O for girls. The reason for this is because boy sperm are stronger and can get to the egg faster but girl sperm live longer. Also I have read that taking clomid sooner in the cycle will produce more eggs and later in the cycle will produce better quality eggs. I wanted twins so I took mine at 100mg days 2-6 and ended up with twin boys. Good luck!

SMJJ.....Did you take anything with your clomid? Like Robitussin? I am planning to take clomid next month 100mg days 1-5, also because husband and I want twins and problem with ovulation. Please reply when you can. Thanks!

I have PCOS thats why I was on the clomid. I was up to 150mg before I was put on the metformin. My Dr. told me that the metformin can sometimes regulate your cycles or help your body respond to the clomid so thats when I lowered the dose to the 100mg and tried them together. I got pregnant with the twins that first cycle. No I haven't taken robitussin but I do know that it won't do any harm, if anything it could help because once you get into the higher doses the clomid can have a negative effect and actually make it impossible for you to get pregnant. That's what was happening to me at 150mg, I would give it a try.

Thanks smjj. I will discuss with my doc next week. Enjoy your boys!

We combined the clomid with metformin also (for PCOS - never ovulate on my own). I did take the Robitussin and it really helped in my opinion.

Why would you take Robitussing with Clomid?

clomid dries up your cervical mucus. robitussin (the correct formula of it) can help the mucus thin back out which helps with conception.
