Most women don't measure larger with twins until the second trimester but that doesn't mean that some haven't shown from the start. I was measuring on target at 12 weeks and that is when we found out it was twins. By 16 weeks, I was measuring about 22-24 weeks. By the end of the pregnancy, I was measuring as if I were 52-54 weeks pregnant.

I measured exactly 4 weeks ahead with my boys, my friend was measuring 6 weeks ahead, and found out she is only have one. My MIL always measured about 4 weeks ahead too...but never any twins. So that isn't a good indication. But it could be, good luck!

oh and the types of twins your aunt has depends on your chances. Fraternal are hereditary, identical are just a mirical.

If she has two sets of twins, I think it is safe to say they are fraternal. Of course this would have to be an aunt that is related by blood and not by marriage. Even so, your chance of fraternals are still quite low. Around 5% if it runs in the family.

thanks for your input ladys.. i guess i will see when i go to the doc on tuesday. o my aunt is my blood aunt. but im really not sure if there are fraternal or identical.i'll keep u guys updated..i cant wait :)

I think too it depends on if this is your first pg or subsequent one..Im pg for the 6th time, so of course I popped early..lol Anything is possible..gl and keep us posted..

When I was 9 weeks pregnant with my twins, and went for my first doctors visit, he just put his hands on my abdomen and told me that my uterus is measuring large for the dates I gave him. An ultrasound confirmed fraternal twins! This was my 6th pregnancy though, so I guess I am a little more stretched out than most people.

Yep! My doctor put his hands on my stomach and told me that my uterus is measuring big for my dates (I was 9 weeks at the time). An ultrasound confirmed twins.
