I'm a new poster, but have been reading this site for a few weeks. I'm 28 and have been TTC for 10 months. I wasn't getting my period, and therefore wasn't ovulating. My infertility doc said I have PCO and started me on Metformin. Nothing happened. My mom told me that she needed Clomid to conceive all 3 of her pregnancies, and so at my next apt, I asked for Clomid. Now this cycle I have taken Clomid, and I actually ovulated!!! Alert the media!!! Basically I am now 15 dpo and having some symptoms. Back ache, mild abdo cramping, my breasts are huge and heavy but not tender and today I started feeling a bit nauseous. I am trying to wait until the end of the week to take a hpt cuz I have taken so many wondered if it would be positive in a few days, and retested and retested, so this time I want to wait as long as I can. My question is- I know some of these symptoms I am feeling could be side effects of Clomid, but can they last 24 days after finishing my Clomid treatment? Anyone experience these effects so long after finishing Clomid without being pg? I don't want to get my hopes up too much... Baby dust to all....

Aly0809 - I took clomid for a full six months and noticed signs like you are having but I was never pregnant. I hope you are a different story however and you are also on Met and that could be the help I was missing at that time. I hear Met and Clomid together can be very successful. I wish you luck and hope to see you next post saying you just got your BFP. Keep us informed. :)

Ash78: I am sorry to hear that this month wasn't yours, but happy to know that I could help. One other thing you can tell yourself: you are lucky that you have a treatable condition. Our problem came from my husband's side and there was absolutely nothing we could do to improve things. So please celebrate this big step (achieving ovulation) and brace for the next round. All of what I wrote in my previous post took me a long time to acquire, and yes, there is always hope, even if you try not to. Let me know how it goes!

CG Cirl,
AF came Sunday, so I started roiund 3 of LComid last night. I have a question for you....how long did you wait to have your DH's sperm tested? My doctor mentioned before that we may need to do that, and my DH is more than willing. Just curious, because if it is a problem with him AND me, I dont want to keep missing out. I know my doctor will only do the 6 cycles of Clomid at the most. Thanks for any advice on that. Aly0809, have you tested? Let is know!

Aly0809 - November 14th, 2007 11:21 AM

Haven't tested yet- waiting for Saturday. It is now 17 dpo and I'm feeling nauseous and really tired. Thanks Jules and Ash...
Ash- My DH got tested right at the beginning of the process. You should probably do it sooner rather than later, just to be sure. Like you said, you don't want to "waste" your cycles on Clomid if something else is wrong.
I'll keep you posted...

Hello everyone, I have read this entire site over the last few days and have been praying for everyone. Reading through everyone's journey has helped me a lot .I have a son who will be 7 in Decemeber and have been ttc 3 years. My cycle is 28 days and is very regular. Both my husband and I have been tested and the tests all say we are fine. I started clomid this month and O on 11/7/07(CD18). I am now waiting! Please pray for me! I believe in the power of prayer.

try2conceive - November 15th, 2007 11:07 AM

michelleb- how is your pregency going. I have read all of your posts and they give me hope.

CgGirl - November 16th, 2007 7:50 AM

Ash78: I think it's vital that your husband gets tested too! We did it all right up front (him and me at the same time). There is no reason not to test him: it's painless, quick and cheap!!! ;-) Did he do blood work at all? Sometimes, men have a problem with their hormones too ( like testosterone). Anyhow, spermogram is certainly the easiest way and a good indicator that there is a problem or not. Try2conceive: please let us know how it goes. Aly0809: you've got us on your hook!!!!!! I hope you get your BFP this time.

Hi All....newby here.....I have been told that clomid and Metformin can interfere with getting an accurate result on home ovulation tests. Has anyone else heard anything like this before....?

Aly0809 - November 17th, 2007 10:42 AM

Tested this morning- negative. :(
I tried to not get my hopes up, but I was still thinking it might be...Now gotta wait for AF and start again...

Hello everyone. This is my first time posting < I want to share my story and get involved , But I dont know if u guys are still on this thread or not. I know someone started Clomid Success Stories new , But I dont see your names there. Please let me know where you guys are at or if u just havent posted and ur still on this one. thank you . ~Jena

Ash78 - November 27th, 2007 9:46 AM

Hi Jena. Yes, I am still on here. I went yesterday to get my HCG shot. I had two mature follicles this month as opposed to 4 which I had last month. I had four with 100 mg Clomid, but the doctor did not want me to have so many follicles, so this month he took me to 75mg. He is happier that I only have 2, but I am a little concerned. Een last month with 4 mature follicles, only 2 dropped. Soooo, we will see on Friday if 1 or 2 dropped. I feel positive, though. Hopefully I will have good news at Christmas time. Please reply!

Jules78 - November 27th, 2007 11:26 AM

Ash78: Are you doing IUI?? Or are you just being monitored??

Ash78 - November 27th, 2007 3:01 PM

Hi Jules. Right now I am just being monitored. We are not as far as IUI yet. The doctor just likes to make sure the eggs were released, and if not, he puts me on progesterone to shrink the follicles and start my next cycle. I have only had to do that one time though. Last time two came down. We will see.......

Jules78 - November 27th, 2007 3:25 PM

Ash: I was just wondering because I am about to start IUI in January and wanted to know what to expect. How long have you been trying?

Brianandjena - November 27th, 2007 6:27 PM
